amazing messaging app!! - Verizon Droid Charge

https://market.android.com/details?...result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5oZXl0ZWxsIl0.
so tired of the ole sms app type and what ever this takes thing to a whole new level similar to a wakie takie type app without all of the hassle of going to find your own channel and in my experience it never worked i thought it was pretty cool

I don't get the point of these apps. I had TIKL installed for a while and it worked fine, but I never used it & didn't bother reinstalling it with my latest ROM flash.

This one is a thousand time betetter than that app...
Perfect for driving too

I'm not sure how it could be "1000 times better" as the app TIKL works perfectly.
I don't really care anyway as I would rather use Handcent with google voice recognition while driving than either one of these walkie talkie type apps.
Neither one will work unless both the receiver and the sender have the same app installed.
~John

Been using this for drunk yelling and cursing with my friends.

to each there own yes the other person has to have it installed but i think it is cool... my wife uses it to talk dirty to me lol..

Siri on the G2x! (...or the closest we're gonna get)

I was playing around the other day with a buddy's iPhone 4S and found Siri phenomenal. And so I have developed a strong desire to have a similar application on Android. After a quick search on the Market, I came across a ****-ton of siri-clones. They all have their pros and cons, but "iris" seems to be my favorite.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dexetra.iris&hl=en
I think you guys should check it out, while it is nowhere near as sophisticated as the real thing, it's pretty fun to play around with.
Also, if anyone finds a better alternative, please share!
Evi's fun too.

siri is the dumbest **** ever... i cant tell you how many people upgraded their ip4 to an ip4s and were all like, omg siri is going to be so awesome... they dicked around with it for 2 weeks and have never used it again... "lets ask siri" is a running joke for anyone who is too lazy to actually use their phone

[Q] OPINION - What's the lightest and most powerful ROM?

I'm currently on qkster's stock rooted rom (which is awesome, by the way), but I'd like to try something a littler more fun.
Here's my concern - I'd like it to be relatively light RAM-wise. I get a ton of slowdown (even when using Advanced Task Killer) and am curious if any of the current roms have a lighter memory footprint.
I also need bluetooth and GPS.
So, anyone who's flashed 'em all (or even a few) have a recommendation?
Thanks in advance!!!!

I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, but the only light roms are Vagabond, AEON, and [Dev]a station. All of which are excellent choices. I believe AEON might be the lightest due to Bigfau's choice of apps and such.

qkster rom is great...you get a ton of slowdown? Must have a ton apps running? Powerful depends on the users hands...sure if we both have the same Heavy Duty F350 Ford Truck, but all you do is drive around town and I use mine on the Ranch hauling, pulling, working the fields...your definition of power is different than mine...btw I'm Ford Fan...

S VOICE

Can anybody tell me how or if I can get get S VOICE on epic touch? Im on the goodness rom? If not is there something like it?
Right now S Voice only works half the time anyways. It has some serious issues with server support. Check out the market for a few different "virtual assistants".
Nothing works better than Google Voice Search though.

Lol I defenitly have no interest in the iPhone ....I'm going to stick with freedom on android .... but like I said s voice does pretty well for the most part and I set many many appointments calendar invites and calls/texts with it today while driving ...so far not the BEST but not to shabby

I didn't find S Voice as bad as everyone says. It's not great, but I owned a 4S for awhile and Siri was really mediocre, especially when needed like in the car and hands free. S Voice didn't need to do much to be comparable, and heck it actually opens apps!
Eva/AVX is the most advanced voice assistant I've tried, especially paired with Tasker, but it's not as user friendly to the beginner.
Ok...Ok
If i want s-voice anymore theres a really nice working port here at xda

Silly question, I've bought an app and since I will be upgrading soon, is that app transferable from one android phone to another? I figured it would be since it was purchased under my gmail account. Just need some clarification. Also, I have to get my post count up so I can post in the dev forums!!

They can also be on multiple devices at once. I have my Thunderbolt as my main phone and also an inactive Incredible that I use on wifi to test neat stuff like CM10 (Jelly Bean is awesome by the way) and i have a lot of the same apps on both of them, particularly Titanium Backup Pro. Google has made it really easy to continue using the stuff you buy...as it should be.

Facebook native for andriod

Perhaps most of you know this all ready. And honestly with Facebook you are the product cause your not a customer. However because I along with others have family on Facebook we are in a bind. Well Facebook went native and it finally works well with android. So for the others that have resisted being a user. Maybe its time to give them one more shot?

Yup, much better.
Also, the argument that if you're not paying something "you're the product" is.... well I'll just say "dramatic." Yes you're being advertised to, and maybe your information is being used for advertising purposes, but.... most normal people don't give a crap, and it certainly doesn't hurt you.

I couldn't agree with you more about it hurting anyone.
Its not dramatics' its a simple fact. And that's OK that they sell my info to make money so I can have a free social media outlet.
I Apologize if this thread seems derogatory to Facebook. They seem to had missed the mark with not taking care of its "product". A vast amount of android users became disheartened of the HTML code. I wrote emails to fb explained how it seemed they were ignoring the android user.
I digress... the point of this thread was to welcome back and perhaps persuade old users to "give them one more shot" I would have never thought I'd give fb 5stars for the app! all my cool friends are on Google + and my sheep ios family are on fb.

I usually just used the browser and the mobile site or the Friendcaster app. The mobile FB site looked almost the same as the old app and Friendcaster works really well on a tablet. I'll definitely check out the new update though. It has to be better than before.
