My friend told me about an app that is in development that allows you to download any Apple App and play them on Android... is this real? i looked everywhere and couldn't find this..
this would be great, and if its not in development is it even possible in the future?
You've been lied to, no such thing exists.
It would be nice, but unfortunately no
It would be awesome if someone does that
But there are a lot of performance issues involved in this

I would just like to point out this post was against XDA rules.
By asking for this I assuming you do not wish to show support to our devs which is what this website is all about. Shame on you.
Cheap ass. You spend the money on the device and data plan but you're too cheap to spend a couple of bucks on quality software. You suck.

Yeah yeah. Likely story.

I believe he means a market alternative like Cydia.

I have a hard enough time finding apps that even cost money in the marketplace.

Na, he specifically named installous. And that is where you downloaded cracked apps for the iphone.
Even if he dose here is not the place to discuss. The development team work hard to bring apps, if ppl are gonna crack them why would they even release them??

Cheapass.
I don't care if it's deragatory and flame igniting, I'll say it again.

Nope, the idiot made it pretty clear he's looking for an Installous like market..
It is my understanding that you can get a refund for anything you buy that doesn't work out (in the first day or two i think). that coupled with all the trial apps, means there is no legit reason to use a cracked app.
Not that i ever agreed with that excuse, but some people suggested that it was there reason for wanting cracked apps - to try before buy.
Support developers and don't fool with cracked apps. It is stealing.
I don't think installous on iphone is that bad. I used it so I didn't have to pay for apps and I will admit that but then the app store is so massive anyway it doesn't matter. They will still develop for it.
On android however I think it is av completely different story. As the market isn't that big we need to be supporting developers and giving them a reason to want to develop for android. If everyone on android are going to crack the apps anyway then why would developers ever move from apple to android?

Do you use shoplifting so you don't have to pay for groceries? I mean, Woolworths is huge anyway.
Allow me to join in and flame...yes you suck mate.
I hate people complaining on lack of games or apps then they are the ones getting cracked software....support the damn developers if you want them to stick around...nuff said!

Hi
OK I have seen this asked but I have a good idea for this.
Would it be possible to use blackberry bridge (the app used to link a Bb to a Playbook) to link it to an Android so I can use my bis and have my bbm on my android while it is linked to my blackberry? I don't like the blackberry's user interface it is way to slow.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
The trick would be porting it over to android, then getting it to work on their servers. Correct me if I'm wrong.
saw this a little while ago, not what your talking about, but its relevant and you might find it interesting

I did see that a while ago as well. It was interesting to see. Maybe RIM is officially working on it themselves or maybe it was a hoax. No news of it came up again so I'm pointing to hoax.
I seem to have remember that they said that screen shot was taken from the bb sdk or something but it is fake. Who around here would have the knowledge to port the app to android? I think if we can get the app on android and trick the blackberry into thinking it is a play book then the blackberry will allow access to the servers. Just a thought Im not sure if it would work.

As the title specifies I'm really annoyed that Google gave iOS a better search than us on ICS. They basically gave them the search of JellyBean (minus the Google Now). What the hell?!

You answered yourself right there. We have Google Now, they don't. Why would they make the exactly same search app for Android when Jellybean has it. I also understand that its not there for Android, but what happened to downloading that flashable package that you can just flash to get GNow? iOS doesn't have that now do they...
Just my opinion

Google doesn't make very much money from Android itself; it's mostly for revenue from the Play Store and the data/advertising that they pull from mobile users.
Google needs excellence in a bottle to get iPhone users to use their apps over Apple Maps and Siri search (which is why the iOS Google Maps looks better than Android).
Give them time; if you haven't noticed they're revamping everything. Gmail, Offers, Currents, Play Store, Google Music; they're finetuning everything. Don't get butthurt so quickly.

Second this! People take everything so personally. Google makes a lot of money off of people using their products on iOS devices. They'd be stupid to provide a less-than-exemplary experience, even in a competing ecosystem.
Google now is still better than the search on the iPhone. But I must say that chrome is a lot better on the iPhone.

It's not; because Apple doesn't allow Apps to really do their own thing on the phone - Google Chrome for iPhone is essentially Safari with a Skin over it
I'm a little confused by this rant. Google now is extremely powerful if you know what you are doing and its only getting better.

Ah OK I see the ICS now, but still I don't get the point of this rant or why its here. It has nothing to do with the skyrocket and honestly I don't get what the op wants. Root the phone run any number of jb ROMs including a leak firmware. This thread really provides nothing to the community.

one person has developed an app and submitted on play store which allows users on android devices to talk to people on apple devices via its imessage system
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.huluwa.imessage&rdid=com.huluwa.imessage
what it does is it spooks the app and apple server thinking its coming from apple mini
although it is working but the credibility of this app is a question since its coming from an unknown developer
person who is trying it can try it at their own risk
although it will be of great help if an recognized developer here can decompile this app and see how safe is it or not .
https://twitter.com/b3ll/status/382369290243952640/photo/1
yes that i have already said but anything more to be know can only be done by decompiling the app i guess
It's been taken down so I guess it was dodgy
