[REQUEST] Kaoss Pad 3 App? - Android Apps and Games

So lets make this simple:
This thing:
http://www.amazon.com/Korg-KP3-Dyna...8GI8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322409394&sr=8-1
How it works:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39n4wow8fWE
What you can do with 1 or more of them linked together (skip to 8:00):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qciVXUHTN10
And now imagine this for android! With only some functions of that thing, like recording a part, looping it, editing the pitch for example, or even speeding up the recorded footage while playing it! with more than one recorded bit!
It would be epic!
Is there any app like this out already?

try this. Electrum Drum Machine. Just type it on goole with .apk
You can record samples, use your own .wma files, create loops, change pitch and even fit your .wma loop to songs BMP.

Yes, of course this would be great! But there is the demon in the detail and his name is "Latency":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latency_(audio)
Several music apps I tried on Android are simply not reliable enough, when it comes to precision timing and I have the bad feeling it´s not the app´s but the OS´s fault.

Music Slow-down / Change pitch

There are some PC and Mac apps to slow down MP3 recordings or change the pitch. I use them a lot to learn songs. Is there any app like that that will work on the HD2? It would me really useful to have it mobile so that I can practice away from my computer.

Check out Pocket Player from Conduits. I use it myself for playing music. It has some really useful add-ons: like A-B repeating, EQ etc. There is also a little plugin available for changing the pitch and there's even a plugin for altering the speed of a song without altering the pitch.

Attempt at a "Play Most Anything" media player

I admit I've been out of the loop on everything now for at least half a year, but I attempted to write a video player for Android utilizing libavcodec/avformat/etc. and get it to an at least workable state a while back and figured it might be of some fun or use to others. It has no real controls (you select a video, it plays, no pause/seek/etc.) but does allow you to do a multi-touch zoom on the video while it's playing - and that's worth something, right?
Although this should run on any modern Android handset, I'm pretty sure I hard coded the screen resolution for the Evo in there somewhere.
There were slight alterations to avcodec to get everything up and running, and obviously I've linked directly to a good bit of code - so if you'd like a copy of the source for the entire program, just ask. For now I'm putting the upload off since it's quite a large amount to upload
You can find the apk for it here: http://cjmovie.net/MediaPlayerX.apk
It starts out with the directory listing of /sdcard. Use the .. at the top to navigate to a parent directory, not the back button. You can pan the video around by using two fingers and not moving your fingers relative to each other. Scale similarly, although if you don't move your fingers apart fast enough it'll assume you don't want scaling and you'll have to try again.
Also opens still-frames (so jpg, png, etc.) and lets you multi-touch zoom around on them.
It's very crash happy, but I've never had it cause any problems other than needing to re-open the app. YMMV
VPLAYER
Thanks for all the hard work your putting into an app as development is essential to this community. I do believe though that there is an app on the market that is similar to what your working towards/looking for. It's called VPLAYER and it's free on the MarketPlace and i've yet to find a file type that it will not play. I use AndTorrent a lot and it has been able to play every download i've ever had. Anyways, hope this is what your looking for and if not sorry for wasting space on your post. PEACE
would like to see this in a finish product.
like someone else said above, vplayer in the market already plays most any file type (admittedly without the panning or zooming features). I don't know if it's possible, but what would really make your app stand out is if you could get it to see and play media files on a shared drive over a home network. Just a thought.
Kudos though - it must have been a pita to develop.

+1 on this.
I was hyped for Rockplayer and then realized it wouldn't do subs for the anime I watch.

An excellent app idea from an artistic noob

So i was thinking, what if someone made an app which displayed an android that dances very rhythmically to music played on a device, and differently to each song played. By this, i don't mean an android that simply swings it's hips, but does flips, twirls, claps, winks and jumps, all when necessary, and keeps to the rhythm and beat of the music; the dancing would be equal to the choreography used in music videos, and would not use some cheap "dancing skills". I would make this app myself, but i have no experience in writing software. If anyone would like to use this idea to develop, please let me know, as I have no problem in restricting its development because it's my idea (if there is such a thing) but i would like to know if it is being made is so I can download it myself! Thank you all for viewing my idea

[APP] ASR - Sound Recorder - Free without limitations

Hi everyone, this is my another attempt to learn programming for Android by coding.
ASR - Sound recorder
Sound recorder without limitations!
ASR - Sound Recorder is one of the few apps on the Google Play that records directly to the MP3 format.
It is FREE and without any limitations on recording time!
Below permissions required:
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE to save recordings.
WRITE_SETTINGS to set recording as ring tone.
looks quite nice. however the icon is very non-ics-like
Thanks, do you mean like the Android Design guide?
My artistic skills are crap at best I've tried many icons but couldn't get better than this
kinda quick & dirty PS job. if you like it I'll send you the .ps
i also tried making a nice mic but those are kinda complicated
looks good, could you attach psd as zip? or upload some where?

Sent from my Photon using XDA
any eta on the icon?
btw, what does it need network connection for?
two requests:
- make the low/high quality checkbox a dropdown where one can choose from a set of bitrates (32,64,96,128) or at least add in the description what the bitrate will be.
- native playback without requiring another app. I have the recordings in a folder with a .nomedia file so they don't show up in my media player while listening to music. but that prevents the media player from playing them. I don't want to install another player just to listen to a note every now and then. a very very very simple player (compare hi-q mp3 recorder) would be great.
Looks good! Will install and test it out.

I had to re-design current logo. There was another app with almost same logo as you have designed.
Network permission is required for upload & share feature

I didn't include bitrate settings too kep it simple but planning to add if it pics up. I am quite happy so far. It has 3000 downloads so far.
I will start working on internal player. Thanks
well there's only a few different icons that make sense for a recording app so it's natural that icons are gonna look more or less the same for all of them. there's at least 50 different (or not so different) microphone icons. so i don't see any problem using any icon just because of similarities, especially not if the icon is original and not a copy.
after test:
-64kbps is not good enough
-it didn`t work 2 times out of 5, file size 0
but it has perspective, hope you will improve it

Not sure if you had a different record button design then, but I am loving this brushed aluminium button in your latest version.
I'm using ASR mp3 recorder the past 2-3 weeks, but I have a serious issue(because affect phone's functionality too). If I use it to record something, the first recording is ok, but from the second time the sound volume lows down a lot. And this doesn' t happen only for the app' s recording file, but for all sounds of phone, and needed to reboot the device to returned to normal sound volume.
Any ideas why this happens, and hopefully a fix?

the psd i provided was my suggestion for the app icon, not the record button. the apps UI is actually quite nice, just the icon isn't, especially not on ICS/JB

[APP] Stealth Audio Player - play audio through earpiece

Usually, there are two ways of playing music on Android device. You can either use your headphones or a speaker. But how about a third option?
The purpose of this app is to enable the users to listen to something when they do not have earphones and they don't want to use speakers.
When you are with someone and you must listen to an audio file e.g. a voice message, etc. you can now listen to it using your device's earpiece (from which you hear phone calls) using this app.
This is useful not just for usual audio files, but also for podcasts, and comes in handy for when you forgot to bring headphones and do not want to disturb those around you. Stealth Audio Player enables you to make good use of the tiny speaker to listen things which should not play from the main big speaker.
Download from Play Store:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appsbyusman.stealthaudioplayer
FEATURES:
Plays any kind of Audio from the earpiece of your device.
Plays Videos on screen and their audio is routed through the earpiece.
Folders Browser lets you locate specific files.
Ignore Folders option under Settings makes a Blacklist of folders to ignore.
Basic and functional Audio and Video players.
Dedicated lists for Audio and Video files.
Option to remove ads in Settings screen.
UPDATES:v17:
THIS IS A MAJOR UPDATE:
*** VIDEO PLAYER ***
Now you can play VIDEO files using this player - the audio will come through the earpiece!
v16:
Introduced a PRO UPGRADE to remove ads
Introduced a Settings screen where you can add some folders to the ignore list.
v14 (Major Update):
Folders support: Now browse any folder on your device to look for and play specific files.
New Navigation Drawer: All the sections of the app in one place.
Partial ***VIDEO*** support: Open a video file from a folder and the app will play its audio (more support will be coming later).
Previous (v13):
All crashing issues fixed!
Performance improvements.
Player becomes untouchable when the phone is near the ear (to avoid accidental touches).
WhatsApp audio messages will not appear in this app.
"Unable to read file" issue fixed.
Excellent concept.
this app is very helpful when i want to listen something without disturbing others and my earphones are out of my reach.
Thanks man! I really appreciate your feedback
Please support more audio code, it support only mp3, i use m4a itunes
Ok I'll see if it works. Currently it supports mp3, ogg, and wav files.
Just published an update to this app. Here's the summary:
The app now supports m4a file format, in addition to mp3, ogg, and wav files.
Few bug fixes and performance improvements.
Amazing work dude!!! thanks
I'm glad that you like it. Thanks for the feedback
Left a comment in Google Play and that's not very common for me.
Simplicity and ease of use are outstanding. Good work!

Just what i thought to ask you as I made a jump here again. Now that's everything i could desire. Thanks again

A couple of ideas that i could suggest to you to make this lil' app just perfect in every aspect, is first - adding an option to search music; second - add a side slider to reach alphabetically a certain letter.
I'd like to premise that these ideas could be useful just in my opinion, where i don't wanna use this as daily player obviously, but with more than 50 songs the research become huge and hard... What do you think?
A+ for the idea Nice, light-weight application. May it be useful to create the sticky notification with the control buttons and the name of the track? It will be shown when the app is running, and the song is playing. Several times, I have minimized the application instead of closing it or at least stopping the playback, put the phone in the pocket, and the music continued playing

Thanks for the feedback.
There is already an option to search music. You can search by Title, Artist, or file name.
About the slider: That would be very useful. I also want to implement it, and I will probably bring an update about it but right now I am working on making the app crash free for all devices.

The nature of this app is that we only hear the audio while the device is attached to the ear. In this position I don't think there is a need to bring features of full fledged music players. The users will stop hearing anything as soon as they are able to interact with their devices so there will be no use of bringing the notification controls.
This app is not a music player, it's more of a utility for hearing the audio in a different way.
However, I do have plans to better manage the minimizing of the application. This will be addressed in near updates.

You're right, didn't noticed the lens icon in the upper right space. Maybe because i didn't reboot the phone after the last update..? Anyway I've seen that the list of available mp3s have to be reloaded by filename every time that the app is launched. You think that a preload of the list like a normal music player could ever be made someday?
Thanks to you for the creation of this app.
I have been trying to preload the data with different approaches. But it's getting a little tricky. I am gonna try something new tomorrow, which will hopefully make it A LOT more stable, and I am positive that the files will show up faster and with more stability than all previous version.
An update was also published today (evening) which addressed several crashing errors which the complainants are reporting to have been rectified now.
