Control phone from PC - Galaxy S Plus I9001 Android Development

Hi Guys,
There are a number of apps avalable in the market where you can load files etc directly to your phone from the PC wirelessly provided the phone and the pc are in the same network ....
Is there a application where in I can control the phone directy from my PC. Say I connect my phone to the speakers and play music. I would like to change songs directly from my PC which are being played in the phone over the speakers ... ... would not like the playlist option ...
Thanks

AirDroid - no root required
EDIT: sorry, only now I saw you want to play music on the phone and control it from your PC

Kies Air?

Our new app, VMLite VNC Server, does exactly that, so you can control phones from a PC, this provides you an external keyboard and mouse, and you can view your device on the PC's screen:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmlite.vncserver&hl=en
it works on all Galaxy models, including latest S3. rooting is NOT required.

'Phone my pc'. Very light and works great. Many options. Root not needed. Works over wifi and mobile network.

Better one:
use any UPNP enabled music player
and use any UPNP client for PC to control over UPNP server in phone
It was designed to revers use (control music by phone) but your use should work too.
Sorry but I can't give you app names right now, but if you search for UPNP you will get what you need.

[Q] Streaming from Android to PC

Sorry if there is already a thread for this.
I'm looking for an app which play the sound of my mobile on my computer (and them my Hifi)
Then I can listen to toutube or spotify easily on my Hifi, simply using my Android phone.
Thanks a lot
Android to Audio Stream
Is there a solution yet since I am also looking out for something like this.
I don't know guys if you are interested into, but there is an application that allows you to stream video and audio and see your picture via Wireless on your computer using your web browser...
Websharing file 1.6.1 apk
Nextapp is the company who create it, I use regularly everyday and is a good one!!
AFAIK, there's currently no way to do a raw audio stream from Android over the network; and I can almost guarantee you it won't be possible at all without root. Closest you could get would be getting a Bluetooth audio sink (like this or the official Nexus home dock) and hooking that to your hifi. There are apps to stream local content via DLNA, but there isn't anything to stream arbitrary audio in Android.
EDIT: Some PC Bluetooth stacks may also be able to receive A2DP audio as well, but it's not a universal feature.
Check out mecanto, it's an app that syncs your music to the cloud and then you can stream it from the cloud and play on your phone.

I'm amazed that there's no interest in this. I'm sure I haven't searched enough and so probably should pick on a more current thread. But it seems a no-brainer to me to want to go this direction. Everyone discusses streaming from PC to phone. Why would I do that instead of just listening to the PC? Now if I could stream from phone to PC... I have many phone apps that let me listen to unlimited tunes and radios from all over the world, which of course I use outside the house. But using it in this way in the house, my phone would not only be the source, but the "remote" -- the controller. Walk around the house w/ just the phone. Beats my carrying my Squeezebox "portable" radio, as I do. Or maybe I need to pay $150 for the Squeezebox solution, their remote controller... Just don' get it.
yes. i also think this is a great idea. there a heaps of pc to android threads.
usage scenario i am thinking.
walking around with device. the device contains song files and player. if that player had a button like stream to ie desktop, home theatre speakers, etc etc. that would be great. sorta like wmp 12 stream to button if anyone is familiar with that. bluetooth has the restriction of range so ideally wifi would be the better solution. curious to know if anyone has come across any updates to this.
I use 2 apps because im undecided which is best firt one is called 2play dnla
and the other is upnp. search in the market for both :-D
THAKS DREA!!!! wow I have been wish exactly the 2play app do... I like to play music on my Android tha I can listen from my large PC speakers!!! COOL!!
Streaming from Android To SERVER STREAMING
Is there any application also in beta test to let the android phone act as Media encoder to stream to a Server what's coming on your phone?
On Iphone platform there an interesting app LIVU (stevemcfarlin.com/livu/features.html).
Would be nice to have one similar on Android phone
Fabio
Theres an app called Twonky which acts as media server on your Android. It lets you stream upnp to whatever device you have capable such as Apple TV, Playstation etc. I have an AC Ryan Playon HD player which is hooked to my local network and I am able to recieve and play media through this to my HD TV from my Desire over wifi.
Any suggestions on the following then:
I would love to find a program that can both send audio and video without transcoding that can manage both IOS and Android
Im currently using PS3 media server for the PS3 and StreamToMe for sending to my iphones/ipads. They both work excellent. Was also amazed with the lack of streaming programs.
A simple solution that worked for me from a windows pc to android was was using ES File Explorer (free), choose LAN from dropdown (top left), add new server, scan - it should then pick up your shared network.
Then navigate to your chosen movie, play with moboplayer. Voila.
If it doesn't play straight away make sure moboplayer is set to soft decoder.
Sometimes you may have to press and hold your movie icon, open as video, choose moboplayer.

I think MyPhoneExplorer can do that (not sure)
For youtube videos: the youtube app can link with your pc through Youtube leanback
There is an app called "Remote Droid Player"(play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app.newandroid). Though it needs a small application needs to be installed on PC.
hmmm... I saw the program ArkMC in google play , when I have the similar problem , you can try...good luck!

Still no way to stream every sound that your android device plays to your PC? Is it not technically possible to create and android server that sends a raw stream of sound to the PC over wifi?
All the solutions linked in this thread requires you to actively choose what mp3 to listen to. I want to stream notifications/spotify/radio/everything that is played.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 plus Wireless Solutions?!

Okay so my main reasoning to purchasing this tablet was primarily based on the fact you can view pdf's for school like books and such...
Which brings me to the question of?...
Wireless Flash Drive?
Now i want to be able to wireless sync the tablet as a flash drive and transfer files for school instead of carrying around a flash drive is this possible by any means??... (Needs to be MAC compatible or no to little software towards the computer because i do not have Administrator Access on the computer side..)
Wireless streaming Solutions?
okay so i figured out a way to browse the files on my computer using my tablet using an application called File Manager but how do i stream video and music from my tablet the opposite way? (use my computers monitor and speakers wirelessly from the tablet?)
this might be what you are searching... make use of allshare...

BubbleUPnP will probably do the trick, assuming you have a client on the computer that supports DLNA/UPnP streaming.

I couldn't get bubble upnp or skifta to work properly remotely. Try subsonic, it is java based and set up through a browser, so I think it should be Mac compatible. Works great to stream music and video to Android devices over 3g. As far as the files, maybe look into setting up a ftp server or just use dropbox

Stream Videos, Music, Pic from PC to Phone

OK, So i have read the related pre-existing threads and none of them answer my question.
I have tried apps like Emit, Gmote, VLC stream & convert but none of them are able to play media on my phone. They basically act as remote control to play media of PC using mobile (Emit can stream videos & music but not pics). I want to play the media (including pics) available on my PC, on my phone. How do I do that? My phone is not rooted.

That was the first thing i tried. That is the worst choice. It requires internet to stream. Why do I need internet man? It's like if someone want to go to south america from north america, he goes to japan first, then antarctica, then south america. Thats the motocast way.
I mean, I have tethering and bluetooth. I want to use that to stream and not waste my precious internet bandwidth to stream things which I already have on PC.
i use file manager as well as zumocast. filemanager for me only works when im at home on wifi, so im not 100% sure if it uses data or not. click the network tap, scan for networks, and log in with the same user name and password that you use on your pc. you can also move files from your phone to your pc this way, and delete, move, and change files on your pc from your phone as well. full remote control.
I use TVersity. It allows your phone to view/stream anything you have in its library. With port forwarding set up and a static IP (i use No-IP) you can set it to stream either via wifi within your network, or remotely via your data or wifi connection if not at home. The navigation is a bit clunky but it streams nicely.
PS3Media Server on your computer with UPNPlay on your phone. Works great!

Wouldn't anything you use require internet? Lol whether wifi or mobile? Even a dlna manager would require internet.

DLNA doesn't require internet, just a network. Streaming from PC shouldn't require any internet connection,as long as you're on the same network, obviously.

How do i use DLNA with Atrix 2? The atrix 2 website says following, but there is no app called DLNA or Media Share in my phone !!
"The ATRIX 2 offers two applications to help you share your media with other DLNA devices:
Media Share: The Media Share app is a DLNA connection wizard that will guide you through the easy setup steps for connecting your phone to other DLNA devices. If you're new to DLNA devices and how they work, start here. Media Share makes using the DLNA app simpler.
DLNA: This app lets you expand the ways you can enjoy your photos and videos on a DLNA Certified HDTV or monitor, using your own Wi-Fi network. The DLNA app is what enables your ATRIX 2 to connect to other DLNA devices"
When u go into the my music app and press the button to bring up the menu there it is dlna servers

Still DLNA trouble

Hi all,
Recently i created a thread about some remote connections that were not really working out that well on the TF300..
Nobody gave me a response so i try it again ..
Somehow remote connections wont work properly on the TF300.
Unified remote and DLNA features wont work. Sometimes i can see my laptop and stream music to it but an hour later i have to reboot, restart apps, enable wifi disable, whatever to get it to work.
This problem is also in the unified remote app.
Now this can't be a problem on the tablet because my dad, with exactly the same tablet got exactly the same problems..
Come on XDA help me
Few things first....
My net app of Asus is crap... use bubble upnp
Don't use WiFi direct... it is not supported yet in jelly bean

Upnplay : free from the market. Lousy interface, but fast and reliable. Has ability to have unlimited cache (=available memory) to load song and video listings.
I also often use J River Media Center (paid windows app) combined with Gizmo (free on market) on Android. That's the only solution which works fast enough with a very large (>100.000 songs) music collection. You need to leave your pc on and have JRiver running though, but it works great for all music, video & pictures that you manage on the pc through JRiver. Really, really fast.

[Q] Streaming content from PC to tab

Hello Chums,
Did a quick search here and everywhere else for that matter and couldn't find anything of help.
Basically we've purchased a trio of pads, I was testing one of them several days ago to see if it could get media from my HTPC, it could get music, pictures and videos. It was a fairly painless process, I already have home sharing on and allow devices connected to the network access to my media.
I tested in the default picture app, music app and video app > Nearby Devices > HTPC (everything showed up)
Today all the devices can see the music and pictures but none can see the videos. My videos are fully shared on the network, the homegroup is set up correctly, I've tried restarting all devices including the HTPC, I've reset the homegroup and permissions.
Feel like I'm banging my head on a brick wall, any idea what could be causing the videos not to show?
Thanks in advance.

Hey trem,
Thanks for the alternative but these tabs are for my 3 daughters aged 4,5 & 6. I don't want them to have access to the file system so I'd prefer to troubleshoot using the default video app as it means they can't get access to anything other than my default media libraries. Do you think you could help?

No 3rd party software, W8 with homegroup configured and sharing to devices enabled. Music, pictures and video libraries fully shared to network and the tab default picture and music apps pic up the share but the video app doesn't.
When I open the video app I can see the HTPC but it displays "no videos".
Ok round 2
The hard way
1st register to Samsung Apps on all the tablets
2nd You need to install on your PC Allshare Notification from samsung
3rd Update on the 3 tablets Allshare Play
www.allshareplay.com
Then you sign in to that web page (from your PC)
Whats going to be shared is on settings :
Registered devices
Setup the folder to share with registered devices
You must have your PC and the 3 tablets shown on Registered devices
If you still cant connect from the tablets , right click on the icon of allshare on your PC (next to the time bottom right corner)
Ckick nearby device connection settings and put on all the tablets allow.
You must use allshared to browse.
Good luck

There is a difference between network share and DLNA or UPNP shared. Folder shared on the "network" may not show up in DLNA devices which is what Samsung Allshare expects.
Check this article for tutorial on setting up DLNA in Windows . applies to windows 7 and 8. I use this and my video work great on the Sam Tab
