What he said...but don't think there is an "easy" way. Be prepared for lots of flashing and bootloops lmao. But the end results can be very satisfying. Maybe try hitting up the dev of your favorite rom for advice. Just be sure to search and do research first.
I got your 10 char right here
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Good day,
I have Kaiser over 20 months and don't want spend hard money for new faster device.
So...which english rom is most "naked" and fastest?
Don't matter if WM 6.1 or 6.5
Thanks in advance for any reply.
No fastest ROM, No best ROM, just a user preference.....
Flash Flash Flash Flash....
Find your personal preference then....
Flash Flash Flash Flash....
Till you find better.....
and you need to read before starting new threads, and if you say you have read, then you didn't read right stuff cause if you did you would know not to be starting new threads like this!!! mods please DELETE this thread as it has no value in aiding in "KAISER ROM DEVELOPMENT"

I'm The Pope of Dope, you may remember me from my classic "Hello!" thread back in Feb.
Is there a comprehensive guide to creating a theme? I also wanted to code a launcher from scratch (but I'm going to hold off on that second idea.)
Move to sidekic general thread

You guys throw rom out there like it means something. Is a rom a combination of Launcher + Kernel? Can we stop being vague as **** please <3
The ROM does not include the kernel. It isn't too hard to go to the wiki and look up the terms yourself. I believe reading into the development for more-developed phones (such as the SGS) would help tremendously in what you are aiming to achieve.
If you want a launcher + kernal , Just go with Smooth Maximus RC1 V1.0 , & flash Bali V1 . Come in my thread for help .
Please search XDA/Google before posting generic questions in the Development forum.
ROM=Read-Only Memory, it is a full copy of the system files that are usually tweaked. This can be a small change like a theme, or a large change like an entirely different OS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=667951
second thread on a search of 'theme guide' on XDA.
Can we get a mod to move this to the General forum please?
Okay, I know this is an APPLICATIONS' thread, but since the ROMs' thread is "dead" for months, I thought to post it here...
Any decent (available) chef, to cook me one rom EXACTLY as I want it?
Kind regards and let me know, fellas.
Andy.
Actually the HD2 thread is not dead at all. For example I release a kitchen where you can build a rom exactly how you like it and customise it your self.
If you have never built a rom before have a look at my thread for beginner chiefs and then you should move on to my advanced version. It is really easy simply click on the apps you dont want remove them, click start, it builds the rom for you then you flash!!

You LOVED the gaelic, did you? Hehehe...
Don't flash the latest miui.us version from ROM manager. I just flashed it and there's no keyboard. Can't input text to sign in or do anything!
This is not development. You could of just posted that in a existing MIUI thread.

Thanks for that helpful advice. I chose to post here where someone might see it easier and save themselves the aggravation that I'm now going through. I knew that I would hear from a forum snob but if I save someone from flashing then its all good .
What's aggravating about just restoring your recent backup?

It's not a advice, it's a forum rule.
The Nexus S Android Development will be reserved only for real Development projects and discussion, that includes:
[DEV]
[GUIDE]
[HOWTO]
[HACK]
[MOD]
[APP]
[FIX]

This has nothing to do with development. It's your personal comment. What if someone else that has used ROM Manager and updated successfully? You never confirmed with anybody else. You would do this by posting in a existing MIUI thread (preferrably the one you downloaded the ROM from)

There should be a rule on ignorantly posting spam about someone's thread. I'm sure there is a way to report a thread if you are so inclined.
Furthermore MIUI.us often has issues. They don't just translate, they change **** up. I've flashed them plenty of times before with differences that shouldn't happen. I always use MIUI Android. Made by UK but its exactly the same language wise and they don't change anything; they just translate it, deodex and what have you.

This belongs in Q&A not general, for future reference. I have reported this to the MODS, so they can move it.
if you're planning to flash jellybean then you need the boostrap from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19355021 , with that installed, go to dev section of the forum and d/l a custom rom and flash following steps in the op , remember always to make a backup of your current rom
sent from the gray stuff inside my skull
There are only two roms based on JB. And both have a guide to install.
Any links for some good n stable roms are appriciated.. Kindly help

So, you're not "lazy", just apprehensive. There's nothing wrong with that. However, what we do here on xda isn't to spend time explaining all the pros vs/ cons to all ROMs available, nor is it anyone's assertion as to what the "best" ROM may be -as this is all very subjective to the individual. There's a hefty ROM list of threads in the development section, so it's your responsibility to read over each one (that may strike you as interesting) and make your own assessment to which you may choose.
Also, each ROM thread by our dev team has explicitly detailed installation instructions, so there should be no reason as to why you would run into trouble -so long as you read, re-read, and fully understand what you're getting yourself into.
Also, there's a handy little help thread that I started for any and all questions, problems, etc. So, if you happen to run into anything, feel free to post there. Myself and a few others maintain that thread, so you should expect an answer without the need of posting a new thread each time you have a problem.
