Downloading now! Thanks!
While this is still here.... the latest radio for Cellular South Hero is 2.42.01.04.23. Cell south uses sprint towers... does someone more knowledgeable about radios believe there would be an issue with flashing the latest sprint radio?

Just tried it but it didn't work. Hmm... Oh well I found one on HTC's website maybe it will work. I will update as soon I find out if it works or not.
i love how they always say this maybe in the wrong section but...
if you think its in the wrong section than dont post it there its that easy
Love love how some people can be smart ( l )es!!!
At least I admitted that I might have messed up and asked nicely to move the post!!!
Revelation: You can flash the latest Sprint radio on a non-Sprint phone. Running the latest Sprint radio on my Cellular South phone. There is a lot of advice against it in the radio threads, but I'm fine.
*YMMV and I'm not responsible

May? You didn't think that maybe the number of question marks (or the fact there were even questions marks) in your title might have hinted that this post was actually....oh, what's the word....
Anything like this for Metro>?

Is this true? ATT sent me two texts abiut an update and asked me to say OK when available to my phone. But I'm now on Cognition ROM, it says cannot connect to DMserver.

This doesn't mean that its the official froyo update. Hahahah Thats funny though.
Everyday someone gets a text about an update. Everyday someone posts a thread declaring that the new Froyo update is out right now for download. Everyday its just another text about JH7. Everyday I bang my head against my keyboard and wonder why people are so quick to post without knowing what they are talking about. Not to mention why they thought this was a development topic.
Oh boy here we go again.
Here we go again. I'm more interested in gb now anyway.

how many of these threads do we need lol.
This is like the 20th thread i have seen of the exact same post =)
God! And I get excited when I see something like this in Dev! Erg, I should know better by now! But like others said, JH7 ota, we'll know when froyo rolls out.
/close&delete thread before this gets out of hand.
Also this belongs in the Q&A or GENERAL forums not Development.
This ia FYI post. but if it does violate, please move it to the correct forum. please. Thanks.

I got those messages as well. Got on AT&T tech support chat to demand specifics. After managing to break through the language barrier and explain to the rep that I know what an OTA update is, but I wanted to know specifically WTH _this specific update_ did, she gave me this link: (edit forums won't let me post links, but it was a link to the android 2.2 sdk download...) and said that link would explain what was contained in the update that they were getting ready to push to my phone. Do I think she had any idea what she was talking about? Absolutely not.
Is there a version (for example euro or asian) that I can run with at&t 3g with no problems?
Thanks

Regardless if there is one or not seeing how your "searching" abilities are inadequate you wouldnt be able to find the phone or the countless threads or post discussing this same EXACT topic
sincerely Everyone on the forums

Seriously, hearing people constantly ***** about people not searching is way more annoying than the people who didn't search in the first place. Is this forum so God Damn cluttered that you couldn't just help the guy and nicely remind him of the search function. Take you condescending bull**** elsewhere, we're all stocked up here.
I don't know you at all so its nothing too personal, I just hate that ****.

Well I think some of us just would prefer this site not devolve into a wasteland of repeated OMG questions like howardforums. Search is an amazing thing here - I can't think of the last time I couldn't find the answer I needed or another thread already discussing the topic by searching.
I don't disagree at all, I'm all for reminding folks to use search. The condescension is the problem. I love new members, and I want new members to become old members. If we **** down their necks right off the bat they will stop coming.
Edit: I also realize the OP is not a new member. I was just speaking in generalities.

I am trying to find the gingerbread rom for my husbands Galaxy S. Kind of new at this and will need directions if anyone can lead me in the right direction i'd be very greatful. Thanks in advance.
On a side note, 2.3 is Gingerbread. If you browse the Galaxy S forums, you would be able to find what you need. I went ahead and found the stock one for you.
Just a word of advise, if you are new to installing roms, I would recommend finding someone that knows what they are doing, or you could risk bricking his phone.
thanks although the links didn't show up he wants to be able to watch netflix on his phone of course if there is an easier way to allow him to do that i would be much happier with that. Im just not sure how to go about it i do understand that bricking is possible but i dont' have anyone to do it but me so i kind of stuck

Currently the only way to watch netflix on the gs4g is with Gingerbread 2.3.3.
There is a odin flashable rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146145
Before flashing I would read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1001759
It is not that difficult just make sure to read through the forum and use the search button.
Remember however at this time gingerbread is a leaked build, so it may have some bugs. Future releases will likely fix this but may take some time.
THANKS
Thank you so much for all the info i did flash our HD2's to android but mine is having some issues now and i went to the GS but the screen was to small for me being as i'm almost blind in a sense but i will try this and see if this is what he wants or wants to go back to HD2. Again thanks so much.
you have absolutely no clue what your'e talking about. Please take 1 minute to research next time, and you'll realize there are 2 gingerbread versions on this site.
the fact tha you don't e ven know that 2.3 is gingerbread means you shouldn't even be posting yet
She asked a question. Yes, she could have researched, but you don't have to be so rude about it; especially when corradokng addressed her issue as well as telling her to search next time.
Abie, let us know how it goes. I hope you guys get it working. Check out the netflix threads in the themes section

Honestly, that's one of the most unnecessary posts I've seen in a while.
You're supposed to be kind to new users, not rude.
People like you are why Krylon left XDA.
Oh ok, I'm sorry that there's a section in this forum called Android Development, and that the OP didn't bother to even click on that.
One click, and this thread wouldn't even n eed to exist

Rude.
The point is that the new user didn't know it existed...just help 'em out!
Thanks for all the advice and help but we deceided to go back to our HD2's that are currently running HyperDroid and I did it all by myself. Again thanks for answering my questions and reminding me to research. You are great.

P.s this is a QUESTION for those who don't know !
If it were an answer it would be in development
You need a guinea pig? Why don't you give it a try and post feedback, seeing as this is your thread and you didn't put a [Q] in the topic.
Um actually no. was seeing if any one has messed with it before I did.plan on trying after I get off work..oh p.s this is in the q and a section, thought it was simple enough to figure out it was a question ?

Well, without the [Q], I thought it was an answer, seeing as this is the q and a section.
^^lost cause ^^
^ Insulting me now?
If yes, maybe I should've been more rude and not use smileys? If not, then maybe you want to learn how to reply in a way that doesn't appear as an insult....
And again, I thought this thread had an answer to the throttling.. I showed the thread title to another person and they said "did he figure out how to fix it?".
I'd imagine I'm not the only one that thought this thread had a fix.
Even if there was some1 out there who removed throttling they wont tell.. for what so T-Mobile can patch it... And it's network controlled
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
lol @ what this thread turned out
edit: read the link in OP seems it doesnt work after a couple months ago throttling is in full swing in 95% of areas, network side
Okay, so I'm too new to XDA to post in the developers thread, so I'm asking here: I have been flashing LC'a CM9 builds for the Desire HD on my Inspire 4g and am very excited about it.everything works enough for me to make it a daily driver. However, I'm getting three soft keys on the screen, under the dock. I'm assuming these are the keys for a real DHD, where we have hard keys already. Was wondering if a: anyone else is getting them, and b: if/how they can be turned off.
Note: I didn't search the development thread, because I've read dang near every post, even the off-topic ones and didn't see any mention of the problem. But since that is a Desire HD forum, the issue may not be known.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
The Inspire is a real DHD. They are 99.9% the same phone. Radio and extra mic are the only differences. So what you see is what everyone would see. Maybe you should have asked this on the Desire HD forum since that is where the ROM is located. What ROM are you talking about? His ICS build? I don't even see one titled what you said it was. Also you should tell us what the buttons look like so someone may give you an answer.
I believe he talking about the on-screen soft keys(Ala galaxy nexus). You can turn those off its one of.the display settings.
Marsdta, thank you for the helpful response. That is indeed where I found it. I was expecting it to be a Trebuchet setting, for whatever reason. Seemed the more intuitive place.
Agoattamer, I cannot help what you can or cannot see. You post was 100% UNhelpful. If you don't know the answer, don't respond. The ICS thread IS there, in the DHD dev forum.

Then go there and ask the question in the correct forum. And learn to give real info in the future. Help us help you.

[smacks self on forehead] Now, why didn't I think of that? I did post in the DHD forum...if you search, you'll find it, just like you'll find the thread in the DHD Dev thread about the CM9 beta being worked on.
And, just like here in this forum, one person was able to figure out what I was asking and provide helpful information.
Just 'cuz I'm new here, doesn't mean I'm a noob (or anyone else is, either).

At least you know now that the Inspire is a real DHD. I never once said NOOB, you did. But I am so happy that I could be 100% unhelpful to you.
