Running GS2 with droid V 2.3.5, Kernel 2.6.35.14 Androidmeda, Build is Hyperdroid_Androidmeda_v3.0.0 and the surgeon mod is a Hyperdroid base...all very weird to me considering i am definately running the latest ICS rom i flashed not long ago? Any ways help on all that would be great but now am facing a tragic dilemma;
D/L'd latest Kernel by N.E.A.K for the ICS Rom(mine) to my Internal as .ZIP and install using latest CWM and all goes swell until it gets to boot screen where it just goes black....no harm as im running the unit as we speak....just black and am assuming no power is even being generated! Is an ODIN flash gonna be the difference...hope not as its been a while since ODIN and all states that the .Zip method with CWM is acceptable? What a incredible lookin Kernel i want it, and we all know how wanting that perfect MOD feels, so am hoping a few of my friends will come to this "NEW" guys aid hha im new to XDA, but not to life or Tech so please no need to dumb **** down here let me have it...please
Figured as my first SGS2 i may have done to much at first in excitement while flashing first few kernels and roms which is why my Specs are so scattered i would love to be running a straight forward all ICS Rom here with this Kernel, so if anyone out there can help even to explain why on an ICS Rom my Build and Surgeon MOD are saying Hyperdroid and Kernel Androidmeda while im using ICS Rom?

BTW B&G im writing this bcuz i am new lol and have restrictions like a baby does hehheh so until mommy lets go of my hand (we've all been here!!) i cant reach out to the actual developers so if any of you can please notify them of this one mans issues i want this Kernel !!!!!

You should be able to find several kernels suitable for your SGS2 right here (XDA). Search for 'kernel collection sgs2' on google. The 3rd link from the top should be useful and have current ICS kernels (which are compatible with your device).
To name just a few:
N.e.a.k.
Siyah
CF-Root
Phenomenal
Make sure that, whatever kernel you decide to try, it's compatible with your ROM (in your case ICS 4.0.4).

I don't know much about.. or really anything about kernals, custom rom's, or rooting phones.. However, Microsoft smartglass was just released today for the XBOX and I wanted to check it out.. The problem is it was released only to phones with ICS 4.0 or better..
I happen to have the Samsung Infuse from ATT and I'm stuck on Gingerbread.. and from what research I've done; I don't see any change ever coming from Samsung or AT&T concerning ICS...
So what I'm asking is - is there a custom ROM that I can use to access this (smart glass)? If you're not sure about that... Is there a custom ROM that replicates ICS? and is there a simple tutorial that even someones grandmother could follow and understand to accompany that ROM..

Look in the dev section...the first two pages are gonna be 90% ICS 4.0.4 ROMs or JB 4.1.X ROMs
But again....search search and search...these ROMs require extra steps to flash...but there is a great how to by Andros in the general section for the infuse

Maybe You should look in S2 forums.
but i have htc inspire 4g and i want the galaxy s2 4.0.4 kernel 3.0.8 rom i search it but ill give the one that looks like jelly bean and i want the one that looks like galaxu s2 ics thanks for reply
If you really want it look into how to do it yourself. This is a development forum, not a request forum.
And given that kernels are phone specific and irrelevant to the look of the ROM, I'm guessing a significant amount of research will be necessary. Good luck.

I was not able to post this in the forum where you are able to download the rom but I wanted to thank them for sharing it. I have added it to my list of roms ( I only have 2 ) IM new to rooting lol. I am on the cymogoden something like that 10.1 nightly and its running smoothly on my Galaxy s3 for sprint onc i get tired of that will try liquid i like the pie stuff and it looks like it has a lot more customization cause with cyagonomod I cant overclock but thats for another forum or post
