I want to see the T-Mobile free content in the market but how do I get it to show?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I would check out a app called market enabler it spoofs the market to thinking your on a certain carrier not just Tmobile they have sprint Verizon Rodgers all of them pretty much.

Look for this line in your build.prop:
ro.com.google.clientidbase.am=
Make sure it has the .am at the end.
What is after the equal sign, change it to: android-tmobile-us
So it should ultimately look like this:
ro.com.google.clientidbase.am=android-tmobile-us
Couldnt find the clientbase id line with .am on cm7

I changed it to this ro.com.google.clientidbase.am=android-tmobile-us like you suggested. I rebooted my phone and the market still doesn't say T-Mobile. Do i need to do something else?

Never mind it worked. I just had to force close the market a few times
Worked like a charm. Had to add .am to that line but changed it. Robooted and poof!

If you don't have it in your build.prop, you can simply add it.

Does anyone know if there is a flashable zip somewhere to fix samsungs crappy autobrightness? The transitions from light to darker rooms is horrible. Thanks.
I just installed lux and it works well.

Yup, LUX is definitely the way to go.
I dont want to hi jack this thread or anything but is it worth paying for the full version or is the free version good enough?

i use tasker to adress these issues.
well worth the money (even thou it is 1 of the more costly apps out there)
What issue. You can turn autobrightness off and then deselect the adjust screen tone under dispaly settings as well.

I have the paid version also. When I see an app I like, I always buy it to support the developers.
Even if I don't end up using it at that time, I figure it may come in handy in the future and I don't mind throwing a few bucks to the developers.
Using the Imo 12-2 lean kernel here. It lists auto brightness fix in its features (or was that Synergy ROM...). I haven't been nearly upset with the brightness since I flashed the kernel. Could be a placebo, however...
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Install the free version to see if you like it. Then uninstall and buy the paid version. IMO - the extra features with the paid don't add anything for our device, but I bought it to support the dev.
Yes I recommend Lux too
There's a modified framework for the international version.I tried to port it to our phone but the scripting and methods they used to apply the mod were a bit over my head.
I will try to reach out to the original mod author to see if he is willing to assist but no promises.

That would be much appreciated. I have the paid Lux app and still not the "fix all" we are looking for.

Yes it's easy too. All you need is root explorer (or any file explorer) and move the mms.apk to system -> apps. I would take your original mms and rename it to .bak in case the stock one messes up you can go back to the original one. Once this is done reset your phone and your good.
Also, if you have the stock touchwiz mms then it is called secmms.apk.
I have the mms but I'm on my phone at work so I can't upload it till later today. I have 2, the stock and a nice black one

That does look great, thanks! And +1 for the other person's request for contacts apk. I hate the way Samsung has to put their stupid looking touch on stuff, but I like the touchwiz
Edit: for giggles I found the stock phone and contacts apks and tried them. Didn't work. Then I read somewhere that they work on a different framework or something and that's why. Oh well, here's to experimenting!

Not a problem. It seems a lot smoother than handcent. I'll miss the popup. Wish we could somehow trick the lock screen notification into using this as the quick swype when you receive a text >.<. Either way if you can make the outgoing white...that would be great. Thank you!

Hey Rueben do you know if this one can handle group MMS? The stock touchwiz cant handle grouping MMS so I've resorted to using Verizon's ugly messaging app that threads properly. Tried all the others, GO SMS, Handcent, Pansi only GO was close to being acceptable but the double notification tone drove me nuts!

First off, let me say that I love this ROM. it is my first time flashing a phone and it has been a great experience. I haven't had a problem until today. Probably should not have done this, but I did my weekly *228 to update roaming capabilities, and ever since, I have been unable to get a 4G signal. I'm guessing I messed up my APNs or something?
Anyway I re flashed the ROM, and for a second it popped up, but no luck; back to 3g.
What can I do to fix without losing all my apps, settings, etc as it took me 2 days to get everything to normal after the first flash.
Samsung s3 Verizon I535
Thanks!
*228 can fry a sim card on a 4G phone. There is never a reason to do it. Go to verizon and get a new sim card. Do not tell them your rooted (you do not need to return to stock), just tell them you already spoke to a tech on the phone and this is what he said to do. That will keep questions and them playing with your device to a minimum.
Start there and report back private!

Oh yeah I've already checked all that. I may be new to android custom ROMS but I'm not your average idiot
And that thing never said not to continue or warned me at all :-\
Noy sure how I'm going to get a sim card from them without them seeing my phone is rooted but ill be as slick as I can. Sure it couldn't be anything else? Is there an APN settings package I can flash to the phone?
I did it without any issues twice. Walk in like you own the place and tell them what you need. They will do it. Not the end of the world either if he notices root, they still need to give you a new card, but they won't even check. You'll be fine

:good::good::good::good::good:
Popped the SIM card out of my phone, walked in close to closing time, told them to give me another one.
Bing bang boom, and now I have 4g again.
On another note, they were all like "yeah you shouldn't do the *228 on a 4g phone, and the other two people that WORKED there didn't even know that. I told them they might want to be a bit more informative about something like that.
Anyways, I think I have found me a nice little forum I always donate to forums that I like, so point me in the right direction. I would also like to donate a little something to the synergy boys/girls.
I'm sure there is a link to donate on the Synergy page...
Glad that worked out for you, you wouldn't have liked the next option to fix it...............!
Good info. Didn't know I shouldn't do *228. Glad I know now. Thanks.
Is it possible for me to turn a cheap android phone into either a wifi drive or a wireless hotspot, i know its possible through the usual setting in android (turning it into a hotspot) im not a noob, but i was wondering if anyone is particularly good at writing operating systems and if they could guide me into writing one that is just a wifi hotspot without any of the phone capabilities (i.e. texting and calling), and if the same is possible for turning it into a wifi drive
I personally would use a non resource hungary ROM like AOSP for example. It'll be rooted so remove the call and messaging apps from the system directory.

this sounds like a good idea, although i would still like to be able to find a way of making an application into the only thing accessible on the operating system, but i will use it for the time being

You can delete almost everything. I think this would be the easiest way to be honest, especially if using titanium backup, at least you can experiment with what you can remove, if you break something, restore it back.

i think its looking like the best option, I'm going to look into writing some code that makes the chosen app run constantly and then once ive deleted all the apps, just turn that into a ROM, looks like I'm going to have to learn some more javascript...

You are over engineering this.
You can make a specific app stay on by making it a never kill priority. You can also set it up to auto start on boot so its always on' even if you get a random reboot.
Making a new ROM with just 1 app is completely unnecessary. Just remove everything through titanium that isn't absolutely required to make the device boot and stay active.
