XDA Developers TextPlus Community - General Topics

I made an XDA Developers TextPlus community. Now you can text each other about what's happening at XDA Developers.
The limit is 100 people. So come join!
You will need the TextPlus app (free from Android Market) and a TextPlus account (need to make one after downloading app).
To Join the Community:
1. Open the TextPlus app
2. Log in and go to the "Communities" tab
3. Click the "Search" button in the top-right corner
4. Search "XDADEVELOPERS" all caps, no spaces (it makes all community names like that, sorry)
5. Click on the community on you find it and then click "Become a Member"
That's how you join!
Thanks!

Google+ and the XDA Circle

I have made a G+ Account called "XDA Circle". If we can get all XDA members to search and add that account to a circle. It would more or less create a global group. I'm thinking it would be an easy way to keep our own XDA circles up-to-date. Simply search for the "XDA Circle" profile, dbl-click into it to view who has circled the "XDA Circle" account. Then you can easily find XDA Members that you have not added yet.
I have no plans to use or make posts from that profile. In theory, it should grow on its own as more XDA members get online with Google+.

I forwarded you a post from google+, find my name in little blue letters at the bottom and click on it. If they are letting people in, it will let you set up your profile, if not, then it will tell you to check back later.

I guess it could get chaotic. The first night, there was a Huddle (group chat) and my phone notifications were almost non-stop. /silence About that...mobile app is very nice too if you haven't seen it already.
That is a nice thing about the Circles though. It also acts like a filter. You can watch a stream of all circles at once, or click into individual circles only. Unlike that other social site where if you have a million friends, and mention going to the bathroom, need help killing a mafia boss, milking a virtual cow, planting carrots ets...the entire million sees it. ;D

Anyone want to hook me up with an invite?

Using current or creating forum app

I visit a hobby site frequently and there is no app that allows me to view the forum. I'd like to figure out how to get that app content on tapatalk or some such app or to create my own app that allows users to log in, subscribe to threads, quote, see responses etc.
I have NO knowledge of development but would like to look into developing this app. Any ideas?

XDA-BBM Group

Hi all! We've created a BBM Group for XDA members at the very moment Blackberry opened its doors officially to Android users..I'm not saying we were the first ones but I can say we were up there with all of you!
We will be listing all the members (32 thus far) with their XDA and BBM handles (possibly PINs as well) in the 2nd post of this thread, the bugs we've found on the 3rd post, 4th post for wish list, and all subsequent posts should be for everyone's discussion..
Suggestions are more than welcomed!

BUG Reports
BUG Reports
Version 1.0.0.70
1. When an Administrator of a Group leaves, the whole group gets deleted even if there are other active Admins in the group
2. Time Stamp bugs
2.a.Someone from another time zone posts in group chats, the whole thread messes up
2.b. For some users, going out of the BBM app (multitasking) and returning to BBM chat messes up the thread for that user
2.c. Some users are posting from "The Future".
3. Battery drain
4. "What are you listening to" option doesn't work
5. Pressing the "Back / Return" button on your device sometimes exits the BBM app instead of just going back to the previous tab you were on.
Version 1.0.0.72
1. Time stamp bugs are worse than before. Posts are now grouped into a single post for users from a particular time zone.

Wish List / Feature Requests
WISH List (and Feature requests though there's nothing we can do but hope BB people read our list!)
1. Chat count
2. Memory optimizations
3. Minimize battery usage
4. No more IMEI limitations (so that wifi-only tablets and MIDs can join in on the fun - not sure if this is a safe route to take / security issues, not to mention the BBM-specific features we'll be overriding. But still, a wish is a wish)
5. Separate Notification Sound options for Users and Groups

Why do you need an "Airdroid account" to connect the PC app to the phone? Why not just have the PC App & phone communicate directly?
Thanks

+1.
Seems totally unnecessary if only using on home local network.
Can you publish AirDroid on XDA Labs apps? Thanks.

The app has definitely gotten better since the last time I used it.
However, I am using it on a rooted phone, so maybe the features that it has now are a ton better for rooted phones verse non.
