Hi,
I have a rooted HTC Evo 4G with Clockwork Recovery installed, I tried to install the Energy ROM following the steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290300
I've followed the steps carefully and the installation fails...
In the instructions post says: use the download link in post #3, I've downloaded the file twice and verified the MD5 with MD5 Checker and are different...
The error message when installig says:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/Energy_11.23.2011.EVO4G.zip (bad)
Installation aborted.
Any help?
Thanks in advance...
copy the rom again to your sd card and if it says the same thing try redownloading

Thanks for answering...
After a lot of searching I have solved the problem, formatting the sd card in fat32 format on my pc, copying again the zip rom and when I tried again to install it and no problem
Thanks!
(I've downloaded the lastest version of the ROM Energy 11.23.2011)

I'm new to rooting and installing custom roms. I used unrevoked 3 to root my ego, then I created an nandroid and wipe my phone. Next, I rebooted the phone to download the free version of ROM manager from the market. I used the ROM manager to download cyanogenmod 6 (stable). After downloading the rom, I did as the screen prompted me and wipe the phone and created a backup. From here the installation process begins and end with

I haven't a clue what to do at this point.
Can someone please help?
"E: Error in /sdcard/clockwork/download/mirror.kanged.net/cm/stable/supersonic/update-cm-6.0.0-supersonic-signed.zip"
Read this link, I think it is about the same problem.
http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actuarial_discussion_forum/showthread.php?t=195406&page=46
If I still can not post a link cause I am new, then I googled this:
mirror.kanged.net/cm/stable/supersonic/update-cm-6.0.0-supersonic-signed.zip"
I got three hits, read the first one "maybe we need and android tweeking ...."
Also check this out. I am tempted to say you downloaded the link to the actual file that you want and not the file. Here is the link to the actual file.
http://mirror.kanged.net/cm/stable/supersonic/update-cm-6.0.0-Supersonic-signed.zip
Click that link and then you download the file you need.

PLEASE HELP....
Hi,
hoping that someone can help me with a puzzler. I have a Sensation xe and I used Revolutionary to carry out S OFF and recovery. Now, I can go into the Bootloader and run recovery but whenever I try to install a zip file I get the following error:
Installing: /sdcard/filename xxxx.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E: Can't open /sdcard/filename xxxx.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted
Now, MD5 checksums are ok. I've even swapped out sd cards with no success.
I've toggled off the signature verification. It doesn't seem to matter what file I use, the same error happens.
The recovery version is 4.0.14
Anyone out there recognise this error and have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Drew
Change to Clockwork Recovery 5020.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Coredroid XE 2.7
Thanks. I solved my problem by installing 5.0.0.8 which done the trick.
seems weird!
Hello,
I have Motorola Xoom 3G 3.2 Rooted.
ClockworkMod 3.2 R4c the newest.
I downloaded the kernel from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200063
I moved the zip to the sd card.
Go to recovery mod and try to install the zip but i failed to install.
That what i got:
Finding update package...
Open update package...
Installing update...
Installation aborted.
I don't know what i'm doing wrong!
Please Help me to install this kernel.
Thanks!
have you double checked the md5sum?
I solved the problem.
In the beginning i connected the xoom to my MAC and then transfer the zip file and it doesn't work.
I open a virtual machine for WINDOWS, download the zip file again and transfer to the xoom and it's working!
Since this morning I'm not able to flash roms in ClockworkMod Recovery v.3.2.0.0 (solarnz-R4c-100611-1150)
I get this message:

Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/aokp_wongray_build-25.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
This happens no matter which rom I try to flash. What could be the reason?

please verify your download by comparing md5 checksums. If you use root explorer, you can long-press the file and click properties, it will calculate that checksum for you. If you don't have an app to create checksums, please put the micro-sd card into your computer and use an application to do so on your computer. Compare that md5-checksum to the one provided by whoever you downloaded that rom from. If it doesn't match -> there's your problem. If it does match, something else is probably wrong.

You still have the stock recovery installed. You have to flash that zip with a custom recovery. Install TWRP or CWM and give it another go.
got twrp

I got twrp installed it just won't go into boot recovery so do you know the manual button combo for twrp?
Can't seem to get into twrp reboot just goes to stock recovery even on manual
Just a thought... when you flash a stock image you will lose root. Even though the Goomanager looks like it is installing the twrp it wont work without root. Check your root status through Titanium or rootkeeper etc. Sometimes the debug method seems to tell you that you have root when none of the programs are getting root access.
