[Q] Do I have a Android on a Win7 phone? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I bought my HD2 running Windows 7 a couple of days ago and am a little confused.
When I boot it the following screen pops up before it boots to the HTC logo:
(Im not allowed to post a link to the picture so I will just explain what it says)
Its a blueish (im fairly colour blind so excuse me if its purple) sign saying:
NRG ENERGIZE
Now I looked it up and asked on a seperate forum and everyone came to the conclusion that this is Android. Unfortunately the other forum couldn´t entirely help me so they kindly redirected me here; so here it is.
If this is Android, how do I boot it or how do I know if it even works?/Why is my SD card full if its not Android?
Apart from that rather confusing bit, my micro SD seems to be full or does not get recognized. Im completely new to Windows 7 phone (and am planning on getting android asap. Previously used iOS) and am not sure where to even start. Is the SD card meant to be accesible through my computer so that I can put files onto it or do I need some sort of 3rd Party software.
I downloaded Zune but that justs tells me I have 0.0Mb/96Mb free and I asssume its referring to the phones memory?
I hope someone can help.
Thank you!

And here's an image of the HTC HD2 running Android:

Hehe, I know the difference between android and Windows, thank you.
No, I know im running Windows 7 but when I boot that NRG ENERGIZE screen comes up. This is what I got really confused about.
Hope you have some sort of idea.

Oh, OK. That's just the logo of the ROM cooker.
Also, microSD cards are not user accessible on Windows Phone. This is because the microSD card is combine with on-board memory for total storage.

Uhm what exactly is the ROM cooker?
Oh ok. So how exactly do I clear the stuff which is on the SD? I mean, either my phone doesnt recognize it, or it is full of something which I can not see/access.
Inconviniently I dont have an SD reader so I cant directly plug it into my pc.

Yes .HD2 and HD7 can do it.

HD2 and HD7 can do what?
My question is, how do I see what is on my SD card?

Toshiba Portege G500 / WM6 Upgrade

I know this is really only a place for HTC made devices but does anyone use the Toshiba Portege G500?
Looking for a Smartphone again as I'm getting a little bored of my MDA Vario II, the PDA novelty has finally worn off after having an XDA Mini S before that.
I really like the look of the Toshiba Portege G500.
Does anyone know of any WM6 upgrades available for it? Since it seems like a great speced device with having a fast CPU and HSDPA.

i need valid link
at mpx.gen.tr you can actually find stable WM 6.1 and WM 6.5 roms for the device, play around a bit.
edit:
http://www.mpx.gen.tr/showthread.php?t=24236 actually have the most stable WM 6.5 roms, two versions lite/standart, I guess google translator will give you enough ideas about what they offer though =)

I need help in creating miniSD bootable rom.
HELP
What do you mean?
You don't need to "create" a bootable rom, imo.
The .XLDs seem to be X-Loader files and afaik you need to format your SD to FAT16, copy the .XLD to it and start your mobile with "*" pressed and "PowerOn".
"SD Card Upgrade" should appear.
That's what google translated though...
Since i get G500 in some days i'm not the best resource for info.
So please don't kill me if you brick your brick - ehm phone.

[Q] Does anyone know what tablet this is?

I got a tablet from someone, but I don't know what brand or type it is.
Images go here but no resize or links are supported?
So scroll down for pics.
It has a logo, which (I think) says MIO, however it is a different logo than the MIO I can find on Google.
Google Goggles doesn't know what brand it is either.
Additional info:
Android 2.0 or 2.1 (custom by a company)
10 inch
3 Buttons: Power, Home and Back
Power input
2x Mini-USB input
3.5 Jack
T-F (microSD)
an unknown slot (10x1mm)
another unknown slot (15x1mm) with a switch next to it.
None of them is for Mini Sim, (possibly for microSIM?)
I would like to install an Android OS or Ubuntu on it, so if someone knows if I can that info would also be much appreciated.

This is a "no-name" china-made.
Thanks!
Are there any guides on how to put a new Android rom or Ubuntu on it? Or is this not possible?
Rather it is not possible on this "tablet".

The company is called mid. Yours may be the model discussed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592554 but unless you can go into settings on tab and see how much ram it has or the cpu it is difficult to guess which model.
If you can identify how much ram and internal storage it has you should be able to narrow down details using google.

Thanks a lot for the info.
Unfortunately I can't view settings in the custom ROM that is installed.
It also looks different on the image. But it helps in the search

[Q] SD Card Fills Up Too Fast

I have a question for everyone.
Are you guys having problems with the internal sd card on your one s?
My sd card gets filled up really quick. I dont have alot on it. Only About 2.6gb of Music & 1gb of Videos
Thats all... The MAX I have is about 4GB with some roms and gapps etc.
If you guys had this issue before how did you guys fix it?
I just barely re-formated my sd card to fat 32 on my mac.
Thanks in advanced

I've been in the same spot. I didn't think I put much stuff on my phone and kept running out of space. Then I found an app from the playstore called "Disk Usage." It's a graphical representation of your phones storage so you can actually see what's taking up space. In my case it's almost always forgetting to delete old back ups. You should try it.
Check it out.

I just ignore it, windows 7 is horrible at reading sdcard partition tables and I have corrupted more cards allowing it to 'fix' them. If you want to reformat the card get a program such as sdformat as this offers a much better block unification than windows 7 or any windows version for that matter.
Or just dont care about it. I got a USB stick that windows been whining about for... oh i dunno... 3 years now? Still works perfectly fine

Nope not at all, I did something similar to what Darknites is saying when I basically deleted my sd card during recovery reset and Win7 worked like a charm and I was SO happy that I did not have to loose anything.:good:

Nope wrong issue lol the sd is working fine but for reason once in a while windows wants to scan it.
Windows normally starts crying if you remove a removable device without using the "safely remove hardware" bull**** first.
To which I say:

Mediatek K107 MT8752 - Can I change the current ROM ?

Hello all!
First of all, I need to point out that I am a newbie when it comes to Android modifications, but I work in IT, so I have a good general knowledge on how these things work. I say "general", because obviously, working in IT does not make me a professional in this in any way...far from it. I'm just saying so in case you guys can explain to me, or point me a guide I can follow to achieve what I'd like to do Also, English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance if my text is hard to read..
I ordered a cheap chinese tablet from Aliexpress, but I can't post links...so I can't show you. But it's an Octa Core MT8752, 10 inches (really 9.6 though )
For the price I paid, it really does the job, and I am very satisfied. However, I hate the interface. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying. The icons, for one, are ugly. I own a Nexus 7 (2012 model) and it does not look the same, even if they both run on 5.1 Lollipop. I know it sounds stupid, but it bothers me Plus, everytime it boots, I see the big, ugly, Mediatek logo pop-up before the Android one does.
I'm well aware it shouldn't really matter, but I'd like to change that. Is there a way I can flash this tablet with another rom? I was already successful rooting it with KingRoot. I was about to go on and see how to make a backup with MTK Android Tools.
All that rambling to say I'd like to change the look and feel of the tablet and get rid of some junk applications that came already installed on the tablet. Some of these applications were installed by me.

}
The specs are as follows:
Also, it bothers me that it seems like the disk space was split in two partitions. Can I change this?
Now, I searched for a while, and I've come across what I believe may be the factory file for flashing, but I am really unsure...I wonder if these files will come with the same icons built in.
Does anyone have any experience with said tablet? I would just like to know what I can do to flash it with another rom, without screwing anything up. I'm really new at this, and I'm not even sure which guide I should follow.
Thank you for your time
