All of a sudden my wifi is not working at all. It says scanning, connecting, disconnecting.....over and over again.
I was working last night no problems.
Yesterday I odin'd back to stock with the ee4 package and pit file because my set up was running really slow and laggy, so I was going to start fresh.
I've tried rebooting and pulling the battery while the phone is on. nothing fixes it.
Any thoughts?

Try this:
Settings>Wireless & Network>Wi-Fi Settings
Disconnect from the wifi access point that you're currently connected to, give it a few seconds, then reconnect.
If that doesn't work, go back into Settings>Wireless & Network>Wi-Fi Settings and go to "Manage Networks" if there are any Wifi access points in there, delete them, then try to reconnect.

I doubt that it broke, it has to be some type of setting. Give me a little bit to check mine out and see what I can find.

I encountered the same problem today. I've tried everything in the previous posts but I still have no wifi connection. I do have two routers setup in my home. I'm able to connect to the Verizon router but not to my Apple Time Capsule.

I think the probelm is my router. None of my WiFi capable devices are able to pick up the WiFi signal. Will try rebooting my router.

I've tried to diagnose from the PC but keeps telling me I need to contact my service provider. It will connect but goes back and forth. Would anyone be of assistance. Please and thank you

are you using wired tether or wireless
Ok guys I'm using stock tethering with USB. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting and it will give full connectivity then it will drop to local only then in a few more minutes it will drop to limited connectivity. I just don't get it. It will connect but just losses connection like crazy. I will try a few apps and report back, in the mean time any help or ideas on what to do are welcome.

I dont think it matters if the phone is charging or the screen is off/on. I used to tether with the stock app all the time no problem while charging and screen off for a long time.
I just recently started getting limited connectivity. I only use our stock Mobile AP. I have never used the usb cable to tether. I wonder if it is a result of something we flashed..
If we can figure this out I will be very happy!

I agree. It would seem it is due to some unforeseen issue that I would not no anything about. It seems like when the phone goes to sleep that's when the trouble starts. I haven't been able to test this theory as I haven't had access to a PC for a day or two. Will report back with you guys cause I'm gonna try a few apps and see if keeping the screen constantly on will help if it does then we will know it is something to do with the phone sleeping while tethering. I always turned my screen off and never had an issue before. This is recent issue for me. I'm not running any battery saver apps..I did recently flash a ROM that came with Bali 3.3 uv.
I never uv and actually flashed Bali 3.3 (no uv) this AM. Could the under volting be causing it? The last time I tethered was two days ago so I don't know if I still have the issue with Bali 3.3
Thanks
Ok. I have done some testing and definitely have come up with a fix for us. Is it a temporary or permanent fix? I'm not sure just yet. This is what I did.
Turned on my Acer laptop/let it boot up.
Turned on our stock Mobile AP as a wireless tether. I got limited access.
I right clicked on the signal status bars icon.
I got a popup with 3 choices one of which was STATUS.
I clicked on STATUS and the limited connectivity icon (triangle with ! In it) almost immediately disappeared before my status window popped up.
I HAD FULL CONNECTIVITY.
I browsed a little.
I shutdown/started up my pc 3 times and had full connectivity each time.
I then, for40 mins, downloaded ROMS, Kernels, Mods ect from xda and rootzwiki using wireless Mobile AP with no issue our loss of connection. I worked it good!
I am now shutdown and waiting for an hour to pass (another 30min) to test if I will have full connectivity immediately on connection.
I'll check back in soon. Hopefully I'm on the right track!
**Also**
My phones screen was off the entire time.

No. Audiophile Funk in the trunk as of yesterday but I was getting it on Black Ice too. Just started happening 10-14 days ago
@GDofWR420
Ok. I started pc/let it boot up and run. I then turn on Mobile AP (wireless).
It showed connected but there were no bars and the blue wheel was spinning..still early in its connecting process I'm sure.
I got the limited connectivity icon on the signal status bars and it said Limited connectivity in the popup.
I right clicked the signal status bars and immediately got Full connectivity. I didnt even get The 3 option popup with the STATUS option.
I'm still fully connected as I write this. My phones screen off the entire time.
I'm going to shut down pc and reboot phone and see what happens...I'm sure it is something we flashed and when the devices "talk back and forth" something happens.
Forgive my noob speculations and non technical replies. I'm REALLY NOOB with pc's lol.
If all we will have to do is right click the signal status bars here and there that wont be to bad.
I'm going to Odin stock (probably not tonight) and see how that works for us also...
BTW; I have been using your CWM advance restore guide and I'm loving it! Wish you did it months ago! What a time saver! Thank you for that.
i'm having weird issues with wifi on my infuse...
with all the other roms i've tried so far the wifi signal has stayed pretty solid, but with the compiled CM7 rom wifi stops working if the phone sits idle for any random amount of time. sometimes it works after the phone sits for 30 minutes +, sometimes it dies if i just lock and unlock the screen..
any tips? what information can i provide to help?

I'm on the skyrocket and I have ran just about every ROM on here at some point and a while back my wifi started acting up randomly. By acting up I mean it would shut off and either attempt to turn on and end up in error or it would turn on after much longer than normal and start scanning but never finding any network then turning wifi back off. I tried all the usual methods of fixing things wipe cache and dalvik reboot, some times would work. Reinstall ROM, kernal, modem...works every time...for a while. Now on ics thought everything was ok then it happened out of no where like always... No wifi. Upgraded to mhx superlite 4.0 and hoping for the best. Thanks in advance

Odin CWM?
Hi, I'm facing wifi issues as well. I'm a very new android user. I'm running SKY ICS and it was running great until this morning. I have lost wifi. Nothing has changed with my phone to explain this change in behavior.
Behavior:
Wifi is turned off.
I go in to turn it on, it will show the "turning on..." message in settings and will then show checked. Wi-Fi networks will then show "Scanning" and then wi-fi shuts off.
I had Wefi Pro installed and uninstalled it thinking that app may have caused a problem, but the behavior persists.
I have found Darkside and Odin via search, but can't find Odin CWM. Can someone provide a link? Thanks!

I've noticed that my wifi issues are associated with Juice Defender. It works good for a while then starts acting up. I tweek it. It runs better then acts up. Then I reflash and start over. Need something other than Juice Defender. I suppose I could probably do the same power saving actions with Tasker... but it's more work than I feel like doing.

I use juice defender and never had a problem. Check the wifi settig inside the juice defender profile that's responsible for re trying wifi connection if it fails. That's probably what's set to a high number.
Also, for the OP... Do you have any other wifi devices on your network that behave this way? And do you use juice defender as well?

What you guys are doing is turning off WIFI Popup Notification. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776683
You need to also turn off Wifi Reminder if you have not done so already.
•You will need root
•You will need a SQLite editor
(Here's a link to a free one if you need it) http://code.google.com/p/xdroidx/dow...20Editor-9.apk
1.Open Settings Storage > db > secure
2.Search for “wifi_networks_available_notification_on” (Sometimes will be a different line numbers see attached)
3.Edit that record to read a value of 0 < (that's a ZERO)
4.Reboot your phone
This worked for me.. I did this to my phone on day one.:good:
Hope this helps

Got it off a seller on Ebay. It's cool if it doesn't work because they have free return shipping =). Or I could possibly get a Squaretrade warranty and have it fixed through that?
So I figured out how to connect to wifi. When I pull down the top menu, I need to make sure there is a green underline under wifi. When it continually tells me "Turning Wifi On", is when there is no underline. To fix this problem, I just keep clicking the wifi button on and off until a green underline appears when turned on. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Just kidding. It's happening sporadically. For example, now I keep spam pressing the wifi toggle in the pull down menu and nothing is happening.
Well wifi on stock JB didn't work. I'll be returning the SR tomorrow .
Good luck
