Best email app?

Can someone recommend an improved email app to me?
I currently am using the default program on cm7. I want one that downloads the messages as well as headers (default takes time to load each.) Also one that lists more emails at once and let's you search them. I really just use pop3.

K9 is the best I've found so far

extracted email app of Archos gen 8, I'm not sure it can work with HTC or not

I Personally use K-9 Mail. Can anyone tell me though, does IMAP accounts support PUSH notifications?
Because I set K-9 to only update every 1 hour on the server, but if I send a test email I get it on my phone INSTANTLY. So is this constant polling, or is that push?

Yes, K-9 supports IMAP push(IMAP_IDLE) although it might still be a good idea to have it poll periodically as a backup. Here is a list of K-9 features with push holding down the first bullet.
One annoyance, which is not a K-9 issue but rather a google issue, is with gmail's implementation of IMAP push as it fails to sync read/unread flags. An email you've read in K-9 won't show up as read on your computer(or vice versa) until a poll is done or an email is deleted from the server to update other devices. This works fine with my school IMAP account so it's no fault of K-9 but rather google not pushing read flags for gmail.

[Q] My and Wife's Email?

Have one arriving today. I anticipate my wife and I both will use it. Basing it in the kitchen.
Anyone know of a reasonable way for it to handle email for both the wife and myself? I'm sure we could access Gmail via the Browser, but just wondering if there is a client. Then of course I expect there to be a login / logout for each of us if it is even possible.

You could configure the Gmail app for one mailbox, and the normal Android mail app for another. They are both accessible by different icons

Gmail can monitor multiple accounts but it doesnt really do what you want to do to separate them.
This is one of my biggest beefs with tablets at the moment, there arent multiple logins. Its assumed that everyone is going to have their own personal tablet with their own bookmarks and such like a phone when it isnt the case. Hopefully Google is quick to recognize this and allow multiple accounts to access the device like a Windows machine.

I'm not sure how it is on honeycomb since the gmail app is newer than the one on the market, but on my phone running gingerbread, adding a second google account creates a separate section in the gmail app so that both accounts have unique folders rather than combining them.
You could of course add one through gmail and another through the stock email app, or access one via the browser.

Gmail will handle two accounts just fine. As long as neither of you have problems with the other having access to your account. In the upper right corner of the gmail app you'll have hte ability to switch between mutliple gmail, or google app accounts. The calendar apps will show all calendars in different colors as well and let you filter out only events from certain accounts if you'd like. Same with contacts.
If all you care about is gmail you just un check everything else in the account sync options and you will easily have your two accounts to access.

You can also put widgets on the homescreen specific to each account.

I wouldn't use the Default Mail app for Gmail. You're better off using the actual GMail app.

I added my wife's account to the Gmail app, and it works great.

IMO, Default email app for gmail is crap compared to the gmail app itself.

Why not? Works great for me and I prefer it. I'm not sure why I'm better off as it acts pretty much exactly the same, and it lists my inbox subfolders better than the gmail app for me.

[Q] Best email app?

Looking for suggestions on what the best email program is for mail received via a POP server? Enhanced Mail? Maildroid?
I am sick of the stock email client randomly deleting messages when downloading with option to leave on server.

Iv'e been using Enhanced Email for a long time now, after i tried all the mail apps i could find.
Kaiten Email is very nice and looks good, but i find it to be to complicated.
MailDroidl is to expencive.
K-9 is free, but not as good as Enhanced Email.
Moxier Mail and TouchDown has many funcitons but is also to complicated like kaiteien.
That's just my opinion ;-)

ehm gmail app is only for gmail I guess I wonder what more general-use email app many ppl use (and like). It needs to connect to my own email server (POP3) etc.

Kaiten Mail.
Besides the native e-mail clients pre-installed on my phones/tablets and K9 this is the only mail app I ever used.
IMO the best.
Every other app I tried had a few flaws I didn´t like.

Kaiten is my choice.

Enhanced email : it's support pop3, imap and exchange
Only con's : interface is not still adapted for ICS (no dual pane like gmail)

Kaiten is in fact the best, has all the good features, but there's no free version.
K9-mail isn't tablet adapted, made for vertical view, doesn't have dual panel view (most efective on tablets).
Other option is MailDroid, it's free, has all the goodies including dual panel viewing.

Check the options and help in the gmail web interface. I have it fetching mail from 2 accounts and sending using their SMTPs. Not synced with the accounts though, so mail not removed there, nor sent mail stored except in gmail.

You may want to look into Moxier for Tablets and there is one other that has a tablet-specific version of all apps (Email, tasks, calendar, etc)... They are not free, but have free demos available (2 week fully functional demos) - I always end up back with the stock apps for one reason or another though... But, if you need to sync tasks, etc with Outlook, they are a nice option since there is no tasks app in Android by default....

I use spark. Nice interface and smart inbox feature.

Gmail has a well rounded ui, comes with the phone (is not uninstallable), and just works great, with different email hosts as well, so I just use that.

AquaMail is the best IMHO.

I use Samsung own email. I think it's fantastic. Very fast and perfectly integrated with Samsung calendar app. Far superior to Gmail IMHO. In fact it only works on Samsung devices and is one is the key reasons I stick with Samsung devices.

I use Microsoft outlook. It has email and calendar in one.

I used aqua on 3 phones and must say it is pretty darn good.

I use Gmail since it will automatically sync with all the Google accounts I logged in, and I don't want to install another app just to read my emails

Samsung email, works great!

Aqua email

Blue Mail for work.

gmail for my main account,
yandex for 2 of my business accounts,
samsung e-mail for other 4 email accounts.

MS Outlook for me.......

I use Samsung email as they have been improving it over the years and I have never had any issues. Plus it comes pre-installed on Samsung phones.

Microsoft outlook. One of the main reasons I tend to stick with Samsung is the amazing synching and overall integration between my outlook contacts and calander with the Samsung native calander and its own phone/ contact list. Same for e-mail.
One thing I always wish for is S-pen integration with outlook calander. Anything I write in the Samsung calander never synchs and therefore doesn't show on outlook calandar. I'm not sure if this is something lacking from Samsung's end or microsoft's. Either way I really hope it'll be implemented soon.
