Hi all,
I'm using Miui 1.11.18
I read somewhere that you take captures using volume down + home key and it will save to sdcard.
I press the button I see the animation, but no screen shots are saved.
One forum said it was kernel issue without explanation.
Can anyone help?

is broken, that i know of.
It sort of works, you have to unmount your SD card and then take the screenshot. Remount the SD card and then the screenshot will copy it to the sd card

Hey guys, just picked up my thunderbolt and I am loving it. But I was moving some files to my SD card this morning and when i unplugged the phone from my computer, I got SD Card mounted read only. Is there any way to fix this? I did some searches and saw you can boot to recovery and wipe/format the SD card but how do you boot to recovery on the Thunderbolt?
Thanks!
Put it in a computer and see what it says. Are you rooted? If so volume down and power at the same time. I'm assuming your not rooted cuz you don't know what recovery is.

Did you try cycling power?
It's amazing what a power down and restart fixes.
turns out it needed to be reformatted. simple fix thanks!
Why is it not working right?
I mean - when i open Gallery or anything that needs the SD card, I get an error message, as if I don't have an SD CARD.
Can't install my new Keyboard (it looks for an SD Card). Can't take pictures. All my data is not recognized by this rom (wallpapers, pics I took with my older rom, and so on).
I don't have or ever use an external SD card! But I never had this issue (although it happened with CM7 once as well, but I don't remember how I fixed it(
HELP. Please! I love this ROM and would like to keep it (MIUI)
ANYONE ???

1. Althoug I am not sure if I what I am suppose to choose is to make Internal Secondary or to make External Secondary???
2. Also, I have NO IDEA what the poster means when he says this:
"Instructions after flashing!
Create a folder called "_InternalSD" or "_ExternalSD" on the root of your SD Card. Fixed double underscore made it 1 now so its _InternalSD the same goes for _ExternalSD version"
Sorry, I am retarded when it comes to this
you want to make external secondary...
and the root of your sdcard means "not in any folders".
Does anyone still have the file that makes external secondary (for miui) ?
The download link is broken :/
OK, so people talk about boot manager a lot, and something just came to mind... what would happen to the phone it you were booted into an SD card ROM, and the card was unmounted by accident? This could be a problem!

my guess is the phone will probably freeze or reboot, possible into recovery, if the sd was taken out. i dont think it would continue from the cache. if that happens you would need to go into recovery and apply the Rom Manager created update.zip found at /sdcard/BootManager/phoneRom once that finishes the phone will boot into the rom it has installed on the phone itself. i see using Rom Manager as a way to test potential roms anyway not to continue using from the card. especially if the card is class 4 or below. anyway, just dont remove the card and no worries
Thanks, that makes sense! But my issue is that infrequently, but it does happen, the memory card will RANDOMLY unmount... and then I have to remove it and plug it back in...

I also have issued with my new 32gb class 6, what I find is there will be corrupt file on SD card just few but make the phone always unmount. To solve the issues I have try format with various software and method. Even try using SDFormat tool but it will have same problem. After a lot of try I think I have a solution.
Format the microsd card on Storage Setting [ Settings > Storage > SD card > Unmount > Format ]. I also find the micro sd card can't be defrag or alter with computer.
I usually defrag with Defraggler, and it's always unmount. I think the phone can't really handle sdcard with class 6 and above because don't have issued with my other's class 4 card.
The Stock ROM I find always have issued than Custom ROM
Please backup or copy your file first to computer or other storage then copy back.
Just my 2 cent, do at your own risk.
Hey guys
I have Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9003, and I am using the vold.fstab mod for swapping the internal Sd card for the external. I have every thing running fine. But I noticed a strange problem. When I open applications, it seems like the memory card gets mounted in read-only mode, as when I try to use any file explorer to remove files, it cannot delete until I either use root explorer with mounting as R/W mode, or rebooting the device. If so, things get fixed, but after some use, the problem recurs. Besides, I noticed that while the problem is active, the gallary opens empty with a message showing up "No SD card detected". Otherwise, and even with the problem is active, apps open normally and flawlessly, but unable to write files or delete them. Rebooting always fixes the problem.
Any idea why this is happening?
BTW, the card is very new and healthy, and opens perfectly with card reader on windows, and sends and receives files to and from the computer very fast, and it is 16 GB.
Thank you
I solved that problem after months of research... You see, the problem is corruption... The explanation is very very complicated so I am giving you the things you need to do to fix that read only problem...
(Should be done by steps)
1. Put your sdcard in a card reader (recommended) and use chkdsk /r (if you are using windows)... Or simply go to drive properties and go to error checking, check all the boxes and start scanning until finish... Put your card back to the phone... Check if the problem still persisit... If it still persist, do step 2...
2. Backup all files to your computer... Reboot your phone to recovery mode and use the format sdcard option in the mount and storage menu... Restore all data afterwards.. If it still persist, do step 3..
3. Believe it or not, some files in your sdcard are causing a data corruption (This was my issue).. The only fix for this is to find out what files are corrupted... Mostly, the directory that contains these files are from:
sdcard/Android/
sdcard/Gameloft/
sdcard/data/
sdcard/lost.dir/
Do step 2 first... When attempting to restore the files back to your sdcard, do not include this directories... This will more likely solve your problem...
4. Some tweaks such as sdcard speed tweak and other sdcard related tweaks in init.d folder is causing this problem... Try to boot your phone without them and see if it works....
Thank you very much.
I really have some gameloft games installed and believe it or not, the problem is almost always occurring when I open these games !!
I will try your solution and inform you of the results .
BTW, what if the problem is caused by the files of these games? And what if the problem recurred after restoring these files? Is there a permanent fix for that?
Thank you

It seems like it's SD card problem, although it's new!!
I was playing on a game installed on USB Storage, and all of a sudden the game became unresponsive. I then forced reboot the device, and when restarted, SD became unavailable!! I went to "SD and storage" settings and both SD card and USB storage give "Unavailable". Pressing on "Mount SD card" does not work! Formatting is not working!!
Any suggestions guys??

BTW, I remind you that I am using the vold.fstab mod, gingerbread version. I tried to install another SD from my friend's phone that is working fine in his AT&T Galaxy S i9000, but once done, it gives me "USB Storage damaged" !!!!!!!

Seems like I lost my SD card
It opens normally in Windows, and I could back it up. When I delete all files, it gives that they were deleted. But when I eject it and reinsert it, the files are not removed
Neither formatting nor chkdsk in Windows work
GParted gives "Unable to open /dev/... as read-write (file system read-only)"
Any suggestions??

do you mind to post a screen short by command mount in adb shell?
Actually, I took the memory card back to the reseller, and they changed it for another working one. I just dont know why would all of this happen! The card is new, but there were problems preceding its damage, like the aforementioned problem of read-only!!

It seems that I forgot to mention regarding a bad sdcard.. Some issues are appearing because your card is either damaged or is badly made... Glad to hear your problem solved...

Actually, during searching for a solution for my problem, some websites suggested the following:
1- if your card gives you that it is read only, try to use micro SD adapter, and put the lock half way between the locking position and the unlocking one, th en try to perform chkdsk, followed by formatting attempt.
2- if formatting has failed, try to use GParted (bootable live disk is available online and can be downloaded).
Your internal SD will subsequently be recovered once the external is recovered, or simply, put a new external SD of whatever size, and you will regain access to your internal SD, and thats supposing you are using vold.fstab mod
Please let us know of the results , hopefully it works with you

Ok. So I used this method -->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35995744#post35995744
to get my 64Gb card working on my Sensation. I put it in (without any data) and it showed me 59.46 GB of free space. After that I plugged it into my PC and copied all my files, Now, after inserting the card, my device does not give me any damaged/invalid card errors, but when i try to open camera or gallery, it says, "No External Storage" and quits. Then when I go into the storage menu under settings, it shows that it has 29.3 Gb total space, but does not let me access my files. What do I do so that I can get this card working without any issues?
PS: I am running Android JellyBean 4.1.2 through JellyBam 3.2.0
Just a question: where did you get your memory card from? And what brand is it?

Hi,
Do you have a folder called DCIM on the root of your sd card?
In the DCIM folder there should also be a folder called 100MEDIA or CAMERA.

I have a 64 class 10 myself, I formatted through 4ext recovery and all is well. Everything is as it should be and everything is recognised. I put card in, pulled battery, put battery back in, pressed volume down and power, booted into recovery, went to format SD card. And it worked perfectly. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
I will try that. Gimme a moment.
DONE!!
Thanks so much! I formatted it with 4EXT and now its working perfectly. Shall let you know if there are any further problems...but for now it seems good xD Thank you soooooo much!! :victory::laugh:
