How to restore apps from Titanium backup after new ROM? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I understand the steps about using the "batch" and "restore apps with data" option.
But I'm new to Titanium backup. On my old ROM, I did a full backup of all the apps I wanted to keep.
Then I copied the backup folder to my computer.
Then formatted my SD card.
Now I have a new ROM.
So I reinstalled Titanium Backup.
Then copied the back-up folder to /sdcard/TitaniumBackup/.
But when I go to the batch restore option in TB, it says "no backup yet".
How do I get it to recognize the backup from before?

Open titanium press menu then prefrences then backup folder location then press detect then whole device it will search for your backups for you. When it finds them press use the current folder

pls help

Titanium Backup/Dropbox restore help

I have synched my Titanium Backup to my Dropbox account, and have the files on my desktop. There were older files in there, however, from previous backups. My question is should I only zip up the files dated from the most recent backup (1/1/11), or should I zip all the files and move them to the card? My instincts say use just yesterday's, as it was a full backup, but there's a niggle in the back of my mind - any insight would be appreciated!
I have a real headache going on here...
I have a backup in Dropbox made with Ti Backup dated Feb 13, which I'm trying desperately to restore after my Samsung Epic had to be reflashed. But no matter what I do, a backup from Jan 17 keeps showing on the restore list in Ti.
I deleted the Ti folder on my SD card and replaced it with the downloaded folder from Dropbox, but Jan 17 still comes up in the program. I then tried deleting the folder in the SD card, then ran a "Sync with Dropbox." Same result. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Ti but that Jan 17 backup keeps coming up.
I won't be doing any backups until I get this restoration done. Can anyone suggest what to do here?
Thanks!

There's another place on the main memory that TB can store a backup, have you gone all through your file structure and killed all other possibilities? I had to do that myself once, it wasn't fun - also, make sure in TB preferences you're pointing to the correct directory in Preferences/Backup Folder Name.

Thanks for the response!
a) How do I find out what the directory is in Preferences/Backup Folder Name? It just shows a folder name...not a place to put it.
b) If there's something in the phone memory, it's gone since I wiped the phone clean when I re-flashed it.

You have to go and look st it. Start up TB, hit the menu button, then preferences, and then choose backup folder. Tell me what that says and we'll go from there.

Ok, so what ROM version are you on? Are you on 2.2 or 2.2.1? If you are, you need to change that path to read external_sd/TitaniumBackup. Put the backup in there, and TB should pick it up from there. If you're on 2.1 someone else is going to have to give you the proper path, I've fogotten what it is.
It's 2.2.1. I'll make that change to prevent future problems. Thanks for the info! Really appreciated!

Re-downloaded titanium backup on my phone and am trying to get the TB files from my laptop back on to the app on my phone. I put the TB file i have saved into the TB folder on my SD card but when I open the app it still shows nothing saved... Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

So as far as I can see, first I pay for the Dropbox restore ability (which indeed saved me though) and then I can't even automatically restore from Dropbox, but only manually copy the files to SD and then restore? Disappointing.
I tried this now (after copying the files into the "TitaniumBackup" folder), but it doesn't work, it simply doesn't draw the files. I rebooted, to no result.
What do I do wrong?
PS: This is on CM9 RC0.

Not true. I have restored via Dropbox multiple times on multiple devices. Follow the below steps:
1.) On a recently wiped device, Setup Dropbox via Titanium Backup. *Make sure you are pointing to the correct folder on your Dropbox account.*
2.) Click on "Schedules"
3.) Click "Run" on the Sync to Dropbox option.
4.) If all the above was done correctly you should see files from Dropbox being downloaded to your device. This may take a while depending on how many applications you have.
5.) Once the download completes, Figure out where the files were restored. By default they should be in the TitaniumBackup folder on the root of your SD card.
6.) Go into Preferences in Titanium once the download from Dropbox is complete.
7.) Scroll down to "Backup folder location"
8.) Click on "DETECT"
9.) Select "SD Card". It should show you all directories with Titanium backup files.
10.) Select the folder that has the files you downloaded from Dropbox.
11.) Select "Use the current folder"
12.) Exit Titanium and go back in. You should now see all your applications from Dropbox when you select "Restore missing apps with data"
13.) Restore and enjoy.
Thank you Mike02z it help me

I just had trouble with this and figured out the key is to delete your titaniumbackup folder on your sd card and then go and restore and wala it downloads from your dropbox folder.

[Q] Backup Assistance

Real noob question here, how do I run a successful backup and restore after I used cwm to flash TnT Lite onto my gtablet. First time I did it, I backed up everything using titanium backup but upon returning to the newly flashed device I couldn't restore all of the applications and settings I backed up previously, I want to flash to 3.1.4 but I fear losing everything, again...
Help greatly appreciated!!!!
You should make 2 backups, one in clockworkmod under "backup and restore" and one in titanium backup for your apps and system data. After making those 2 backups, copy them over to your pc to be safe. Clockworkmod backup is in the .\clockworkmod\backups\[date backup was made) folder. Titanium backup is in the .\TitaniumBackup folder.
but how do I make get all my apps and settings restored...? I have the backups, but how do I restore them, do I do it through cmw??
From a fresh ROM install, install Titanium Backup. Within Titanium backup, go to the Backup/Restore tab, then press the menu button, select Batch, then you will have options to restore your apps and settings.
It has been recommended by the devs to not restore anything but your apps and their data. Don't restore system data from another rom.

[Q] Cant restore backed up apps with Titanium?

I used Titanium Pro to back up all the apps and bloatware on my G2X. When I try to restore any of the ones I have un-installed the restore option is not there. I think it may have something to do with the external - internal sd card. I also keep loosing the icons to some of my apps (the ones on sd) inside the folder on my home screen. How do I restore these apps that I have backed up??
Ps I have used titanium many times on my rooted cliq with no problems.
my backups are on the internal sd.i've restored a few times with no problem i haven't updated mine though. using an older apk. i've read people are having issues here and there with titanium. so i'm sticking with my old version.

IMHO Titanium Backup has always been great with user apks, but very lacking with system apks. I'm not sure if it's trying to actually "install" system apks or what, but I've never had any luck with it.
Anyway, you should be able to just push the apks back to your /system/app/ from one of the roms or backups you can find here.
Have you checked the path to the folder that your backups are in with TB?
There is an option to change it in settings. You may have to reboot after changing it.
gonna give that a shot. Thanks.
Having trouble with my Titanium Backup. I backed up all my user apps + data, wiped and installed a new ROM. After getting it back up w/ new ROM, market, install titanium (w/ pro key) and go to restore apps. None of my backups show up. Batch > "Restore missing apps with data", shows 0 apps. When I go Preferences > Backup folder location it shows the folder (mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup) with all my backups it in, even says "This folder contains 62 backups".
Any help on how to restore these would be greatly appreciated.

On the folder location screen choose detect and choose whole phone. It will search for the directory your backups are in. If that doesn't work then i'm guessing you may have formatted the location where your backups existed.
Try this..

What happens when you install CM7 is that the sdcard directory now points to your external sd card rather then the internal that comes with the phone.
the internal is now at /mnt/emmc
Get root explorer and you will see what I'm talking about.
Once you have root explorer just copy the titanium backup folder from /mnt/emmc to /sdcard and you should be able to restore all user apps with data... however DO NOT restore system data from stock to CM7... big headaches.
Hope this helps!

Titanium backup question

Newly rooted xoom and have free Titanium backup installed and would like to backup to sd card but I cannot find an option to backup to the sd card. It is backing up to /mnt/sdcard/titaniumbackup now.
I cannot find an option to change it to the external sd card.

Create the folder on your sdcard first, then go to the options menu, backup folder...hit detect. It should detect the other folder then. If not you may have to backup a file and move it into the new folder first, then hit detect.
Sent From My Evo
Preferences, Backup Location, change to /sdcard/external/TitaniumBackup
Spaces are not supported.
I emailed TB support and found that I could hit the soft back key on the zoom and it would see all the files instread the few on the screen. I then found the file I would to backup in /mnt/sdcard/external and TB created the backup file there.
The key was finding that I could search for the file using the soft "back" button.

Titanium Backup -- unable to restore, folder empty

I flashed a new ROM yesterday. I swear I backed up my apps and data with Titanium backup (onto my SD card) but when I tried to restore apps, they are no where to be found. Per instructions, I wiped cache and davlik folder after I flashed my new ROM.
Here is what I have done so far: Titanium backup > menu> preferences> backup folder location > /storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup . When I click detect, it says "no backup location found".
I used ROM manager to backup ROM before flashing the new ROM, not sure if this also backs up the apps and ther data that I had on the phone. This will really suck if I lost everything as I have so many documents on the phone.
I am in desperate need for help. Any help will be appreciated.
Sorry for the stupid question... Did you tick the selection to search whole device?

Restore files
You should choose to restore the contents of, but can be restored some programs back is can't use. But not as you say nothing at all, you must have made a mistake, software wouldn't, at the same time with titanium backup directory in the memory card, you have to go to the next, backup the files if you have that can restore normal
