Hello, I'm fairly new to the Android OS (just got this GS4G last week, and it is my first android) so I'm pretty noobish to all of this and searching these forums and the web have only gotten me so far. I currently have a few questions that I did not find answered anywhere else (for this device at least).
I have the official 2.3.6 Gingerbread just released awhile back and realized that my TV out seemingly doesn't work (tried red, yellow, and white for video). I have no idea if it worked before I left Froyo but I'm just wondering is it supposed to work now (not really looking to troubleshoot this; I just want to know)?
Is there any Mods that allow the use of the Wii Controller? I know CyanogenMod is not released for the GS4G.
And, does the MIUI mod allow the use of a Wii Controller?
Thank You in advance.

Hey everyone, i posted this at android central with no answer, though to see if you guys had any suggestions.
Just purchased an apple wireless keyboard to pair with my rooted (super clean + stupid fast kernel) fascinate. I've been looking around and saw that JP Bluekeyboard supports the apple wireless keyboard, so i gave it a shot..
well what do you know, it didn't work for me, everything on how to set it up goes great except that when i try and input, it goes "connecting" and straight to "disconnected".
anyone have any luck with this software or know of any other bluetooth keyboard applications?
I don't know about the Apple Keyboard, but I was trying to get my wiimote to connect to my phone and found out that our phone doesn't support some bluetooth profile that is required for it to work. It might be the same deal with the keyboard.
Bluetooth HID Profile
I did the same exact thing and after researching found that the bluetooth stack in the galaxy s series is a little different in that it doesn't include HID profile support aka no support for the wiimote or the apple blue tooth keyboard. Apparently they are looking to add this with the froyo update, but for me it couldn't come sooner.
yeah, i remember reading something saying cyanogenmod would enable HID, and of course cyanogenmod is based for froyo, and they don't seem to be willing to start working on something for the fascinate until froyo comes out...
so lets hope froyo makes this purchase not completely useless..
HURRY UP FROYO!
The apple keyboard and the Wii mote will work with froyo, I had no problem using the keyboard on my Dx before I sent it back.
Sent from my fascinating phone
I wasn't able to get it to work either.
It was on-and-off again with my Windows PC. I found that the Apple USB keyboard is perfect for Windows. My wife bought me the Apple Bluetooth keyboard instead last Christmas, but it, sadly, doesn't work on anything that I own.
I definitely want to know if any of y'all get it to work. I was planning to keep trying, but based on the information here, it appears that my time would be better used somewhere else for now.

Hello everybody,
I was wondering something... If Android can be put on the touchpad, can it be also ported to the Pre 3 which is running WebOS too ?
Actually, I miss a GPS navigation app on WebOS like the one I used to have on my previous Android phone.
Thank you for your answers,
Simon.
It probably can (i think i heard somewhere that the bootloader was unlocked too, like the touchpad)
I have got HD2 since 20 months now, I am thinking about changing it to Pre3, because I like design of the phone, also WebOS looks sleek and decent, however I will miss android functionality. I would like to see Port similar to HD2 android then It would be PERFECT phone to me.
It would be nice to see ICS ported to the Pre 3. Since the Nexus Prime doesn't require hardware buttons it would share a similar layout as the Pre 3, same with the notification light.
In a dream world it would be nice to utilize the gesture area in the Pre 3 in Android as well.
What would be needed to start something like this? Create a bootloader? I'd imagine people would like to dual boot similar to the touchpad but idk if we would be able to use mboot on the Pre 3 as well as the TP.
Tim
I, too, an interested in this and will test anything when i have the time for any devs working on it
I was wondering this too. webOS is generally the same all around. I dont see why it couldnt. That would be awesome to have a phone that dual boots webOS and Android.
how about alien dalvik port, now that webos may live on.
And I'm honestly thinking about getting the Grid10. The Grid10 + case + USB cable is still $20 less than the Transformer (without a case, or the dock), which was the other tablet I'm considering.
Is there any reason I shouldn't get the Grid10? Better price point for similar specs. It can sideload Android APKs, and it uses the Amazon App Store, and the OS is something that really seems to flow nicely in all the hands on videos I've seen.
Since it's based on the Android kernel, it won't be another Playbook or Touchpad, since all Android apps theoretically work on the Grid10. The only thing I'm worried about is all the negative comments I've been reading about Fusion Garage and their previous tablet. I already know I'd enjoy an Android tablet.
I am currently the owner of an original Galaxy Tab, so really, anything is an upgrade at this point (Not having a tablet OS on a tablet is really awful)
This will be my next tablet, I have been watching the Grid10 for a while now. It looks smooth and responsive to the touch. I currently own the touchpad and an Android tablet. I am planning on getting the 3g version. Fast enough for me.
On the @FusionGarage twitter, I asked a few qustions that I've been unable to find answers to:
"@FusionGarage Quick question, is the usb cable a must? Can you sync/transfer files via wifi? "
Reply: "@steckums We are currently working on an application that will sync your content via WiFi, but right now you need the USB cable. "
"@FusionGarage Good to hear. One more: how compatible is it with Android APKs? Is it essentially able to sideload any (honeycomb!?) app?"
Reply: "@steckums Yes, you can sideload any Android app, including Honeycomb apps."

does anyone here have modded rom for this china tablet
APAD2 with call function
i am planning to buy by the end of the month and i want it flashed with better firmware.
please someone help me
So I have heard that GridOS is based on android 2.3. If that is the case how are they running any honeycomb apps? My guess is that older versions of GridOS (pre-production) were based on 2.3 and the production version is based on honeycomb. What are other people's thoughts on this?
I bought the wifi only version - it should arrive tomorrow. I've just read a less than stunning review from Engadget though, so now I'm leery...
Hi all
Just a quick question before i learn how to do it all.
I have a Xoom which is not been modded in any way, running 3.2 i think, the last update anyway that came from Moto.
I only use for internet browsing now and Mobdro for footy and would like to be able to cast/screen mirroring it to my new Roku 2.
So what i like to know is what is the highest version available that will enable casting/screen mirroring and will work on my Xoom.
Also is a stock version just a version from google and not a version that has been tinkered with by a developer?
many thanks in advance
Look in the XDA Xoom Android Development forum. 4.4.4 has been very good on mine and I see an alpha release for Omnirom 5.1.1.
Hey Folks,
As the title suggests - I did read somewhere that Samsung has removed support in some form or other but can't for the life of me recall where.
I have searched and unfortunately can't come across any answers - a few questions similar but no answers.
So what I'm trying to find out is - why the xbox 360 controller doesn't work with my brother's S7 (UK variant) & if there is a way to re-enable it. He is running a stock, rooted ROM (which one I'm not sure, but it's not been flashed over).
Cheers folks
