Fadeout Music App... - Android Apps and Games

Hi, anyone know if there is a music app that you can set your playlist for a specific time (30 mins) and while it starts paying at the regular set volume, it gradually fades it out completely within that 30 minutes until turning off after the pre-set time (30 mins later)? Would be a nice way to go to sleep and such Thanks

I don't know of a music app but I know the sleep tracking app Sleep as Android (great app btw!) has a feature where you can set a time such as 30 minutes and at that time the app will decrease and mute the media volume .

Or use tasker to do something like when music player is playing for x minutes set volume to y and then so on and so fourth.

Thanks...I cant seem to find that feature in the sleep as android app...maybe it comes in the paid version....tasker is pretty complicated for me as I never used it before....wish someone would make a simple user friendly sleep app that does this

Check your settings, you can set auto off through the "power" configuration.

Tasker question

Is there anyway to have it turn wifi on when it is in range of a remembered network, then turn off when its not I range?

Yes. Wifi near.
Never live in the past but always learn from it.
Hells yeah man! Thanks!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897
Yup. Wifi Near does the job. But it does it by scanning for the wifi network every X minutes (you can set this is in the profiles). So that consumes a lot of battery. I would recommend setting up a profile with Wifi Near AND Cell Near. That way, your phone will scan for that wifi only when you are in the same general location.
If I set a exit task to kill an app ie music player, does it harm anything? I've read that task killers could "harm" your phone but don't really know how they would do that.
Lol just being safe.

wont harm a thing since music player is not a system necessity.
The "controversy" about task killers is with memory management so it won't harm your phone. I use Tasker to exit tasks as well and haven't noticed any bad effects or any decline in battery use.
I've been using this profile for about the past five minutes lol.

Does leaving NFC on drain significant battery?

I believe the title says it all.
How many of you do this and why?

I leave it on all the time because I have chips on my home desk to silence it at night and then on my portfolio at work to silence it when I go into a meeting. I also have one at my desk to automatically turn on wi-fi and start up the SiriusXM app and set the volume to a certain level so I can listen to music when I'm at my desk at work.
I haven't seen it use up much battery at all. On my phone it's usually the display or whatever app/game I am using throughout the day that drains my phone.

Where do you buy the tags? And what app do you use to program them?
Here you are.

I use the NXP app to write tags. No noticeable difference in battery life leaving it on all the time.

Stock Alam Help?

I keep trying to set the alarm And I do to a point but, it ring then turns off after a bit is there a way to set it up too keep playing till I manually turn it off ? Or just keeps repeating
It actually turns off after a minute which is unfortunate. I haven't used my phone as an alarm clock cuz I have alternative devices for that function. I suggest using "Alarm Clock Plus" as its full featured although it doesn't look as nice.

I've been using alarm clock extreme for a long time now. Tons of features, easy to use and it turns 85% of the screen into a big "snooze" button when it's going off

"Quiet Time" settings

I just moved to the Maxx from a GNex that I've been using Carbon Rom (and Liquid before that). These Roms had settings built in that allowed me to mute sounds other than the phone on a schedule. Is this somewhere in the settings I haven't found or do we need to use something like Silent Hours from the Play store?
If we need to use a 3rd party solution, is there something better than Silent Hours?

Check out "Assist," which comes pre-installed in the app drawer. It has a sleep mode that mutes everything, but there are options to allow calls from favorites and/or anybody who calls twice within five minutes.

Totally agree on checking out Moto Assist already on your phone but I am still using Tasker for this and it is working great as always!
Can you point me in the right direction to set up Tasker without learning some wild mix of Cobol and Fortran ?
The issue I have with Assist is that callers need to call twice or be marked as a favorite. I'd like ALL calls to come through but leave everything else silent at night.

Llama can do that, and it's a lot easier to set up than Tasker. After yo install it, change the Quiet profile to have a normal volume ringtone and a zero volume notification tone (Llama will try to protest that post-ICS that these volumes are linked, but you can tell it to set the volumes normally, as we all know they are discrete on the Maxx), and then go to the Events tab and adjust the timing of the Quiet at night event to how you want it to be (for timing; you an also delete the home condition if you like.)

Here is my tasker profiles and task that I've been tweaking for quite a few years now. It turns on if you are charging by either AC outlet or wireless and turns off if any call comes in, cancel it via the notification or take if off charging. It auto turns back on if still charging and the call has ended.
I find this method better as opposed to time based silent mode, as the weekend my sleep pattern is a little bit later compared to the work week. Enjoy! :victory:

Thanks for sharing! I've just loaded your profiles and task into Tasker... without Cobol nor Fortran!
I'll try this over the next few days and see how this works.

Not a problem! Let me know what you think or if you have any questions about them.
