What is [email protected]@r00?
Yes I know it is a strange marsupial native to Australasia, but it is also a ROM for the Desire HD! Inspired by djmcnz's Nexus One ROM, Kang-O-Rama, [email protected]@r00 aims to provide an enhanced all in one experience for your Desire HD. Over the past few months I've seen so many users complain that their CM7 experience is hampered due to a reliance on the Sense widgets or dialler etc. I created a thread with replacement app suggestions and this ROM is a logical progression, providing all of these mods and apps in one easy package. Inside you will find a CM7 base with numerous additions all intended to provide a more enjoyable experience for the end user. I've spent hours testing apps and building the ROM from source, so rest assured that the final product is of a high quality.

Based on the latest CM7 source, compiled by myself.
Android 2.3.4 GRJ22
Zipaligned for increased speed and lower RAM usage.
Fully Deodexed
Uses Lord Clockan's 2.6.35.13 HD Kernel which will blow your mind in terms of speed and battery life.
Therefore Includes - SMARTASS - SLQB - VOLUME BOOST - VDD -V(r) I/O - GPU+ - UPDATED DRIVERS - OC 1920MHz - etc. etc.
Skinned Stock Dialer and Contacts (thanks mythamp)

Full Wipe is Required before flashing! (CM7 Users theoretically can flash over their current install but I haven't tested and cannot promise stability. I would suggest formatting system and wiping both caches just to be safe. Your apps will remain intact.)
Flash With CWM Recovery (Recommend 3.2.6 +)

After first boot, long press username field in Google Sign In to change input method to Gingerbread keyboard (Arrows are enabled by pressing the space bar and swiping up).

My own build which was synced yesterday afternoon. Last commit was the bump to GRJ22 (Same as Nightly 61). I may sync and build again tonight. The aim is to keep the ROM as up to date as possible, unless there are some major bugs present in the CM source (highly unlikely).

I want to include the HD version but not until the AIC3254 gets fixed. It is an amazing kernel though so if you don't use SRS etc. then just flash it over this ROM.

It's already in there! Personally I use Camera360 (Paid) but you're right, the MIUI Camera is much better than the stock Android interface and includes touch to focus so is in there from the start.
What launcher are people wanting mainly? I'm including Claystone in the next release.

I've seen Oxygen before, it's a great ROM for Desire, very similar to Leo's ROM on N1. While this Kang may not be "new and unique", I hope at least it will be useful for some.

BUGS!! Please Read!
FOR WEATHER FORCE CLOSING.......
Turn on airoplane mode (CUT ALL INTERNET TO PHONE)
Go to Menu - Settings - Applications - Manage Applications
Click "Weather Provider" and clear data
Then go to "Weather" and do the same if it lets you
Go back to homescreen and load the weather app
MAKE SURE YOU STILL HAVE NO WIFI/DATA CONNECTION
Add your city
I then pressed menu,settings and removed the animation sound??
Close weather, turn airoplane mode off/Re-enable data/wifi...
DONE!
~ If it doesnt work, try again but ensure theres is no data connection to handset.
PERSONALIZE YOUR PERSONALISE BUTTON!!!!
If you are one of the lucy ones and your personalise button does not work (button on the right of your dock), I have included LaunchKey.apk in the rom. Use this to change the button to whatever app you like, you can even use it as a seperate menu with 10+ apps!!!

You are probably going to get a lot of users thinking that your ROM is a HoneyComb-based Sense rom. Perhaps adding 'Styled' into the title of the post would be a good idea.
I personally don't have an issue with it (but I did think you were making the claim above).

Once done KILL ALL INTERNET BY DEACTIVATING DATA AND WIFI OR PUT IN AIROPLANE MODE. once you have no internet open weather and install settings/locations etc so with no data connection. Once finished turn your internet back on and should be fine.....

Well afaik the 3.5 sense leak is one thats designed for a ladies phone. My guess is the final version will include a sense look launcher.
the widgets and other stuff are interesting tho and ill definitely give it a try porting them over.
Was messing around earlier and got the Wifi mod in the quicksettings working. it just needed some small changes.

so what is different about your rom compared to coolexe rom?
did you mange to reduce the font size? or fix the graphics gliches?

Yeah all graphic glitches are fixed. Currently changing the fontsize. Ill make it an cwm zip so you wont have to reflash

Glad to have another ROM to satisfy my flashing addiction! LOL, any clues on how to get the fancy screen rotation animation from the "ladies phone"(HTC Bliss) to sense 3.0 or other sense ui for that matter? Really looking forward to try your rom.

Yeah thats definitely one on the wishlist. i think it should be possible as the Virtuous team added to their latest Sensation port.

Another ROM to avoid until the bugs are sorted. I really don't see the point of porting all of these ROMs with the same issues....especially when they are known bugs but are not listed as such by the Dev.
Don't get me wrong....I appreciate the work that all the Devs do...I just think time could be better spent working with the other Devs to fix the existing Bugs rather than time wasting on Ports with some basic theming.

Don't get me wrong....I appreciate the work that all the Devs do...I just think time could be better spent working with the other Devs to fix the existing Bugs rather than time wasting on Ports with some basic theming.

How to flash BinDroid?
Download ROM from www.bindroid.com and save to the root of your SD Card
Boot you phone into ClockworkMod Recovery - Turn phone off, switch phone on holding volume down button at the same time.
Select "Wipe data/Factory reset" to clear your current system.
Select "install zip from sdcard"
Select "choose zip from sdcard" and choose The BinDroidRom you just put on your SD Card.

Thats not entirely true, I still think most people come here, there just isn't as much activity since nothing has been released in a while.
However this ROM looks very nice!

Once CM9 is out, I feel XDA will come back. I just wish they'd allow the Banished one back. I'd give this form it's kick back, such a good DEV.

Will update there as soon as all devices are clear for release

Photos look similar to Virtuous Unity...is that the case? Does this include Visual Voice mail, and does the camera hardware button unlock the phone and open the camera app? Those are a couple items that I missed with Unity.

Well hoping he had it in the right thread...but I am testing and still needs a bit of work...won't boot yet....re flashing...just to make sure....I have been waiting impatiently for sense 3.5

Bootloops? Or Setup errors? Clean wipe, let sit for 10 minutes after install. Reboot. Then try? Classic Sense setup

I wiped System, Data, Cache, Davlik, and then flashed the ROM.
The flashing progress goes perfectly fine, without errors.
There are no bootloops. However, once you boot the phone, it lingers at the Splash screen.
There is a lot of potential on this ROM, let's not lose our hope.

A Sense 3.5 rom would be worth wild. I'm not a fan of custom skins atop roms. Then adding an MIUI type thing to a Sense Rom....makes me not wanna try. But there is talk of a stock Sense theme. But some of the screenies shown say sense version 2.1. But non the less its promissed as Sense 3.5 Hopefully the kernel is good, a Overclock would be nice. Noticable lag while playing certain games now Xo

Same thing for me. Wonder if it would load any better if i treated it like an update to unity, rather than wiping everything (since i run cm7) and installing it as a fresh rom

IT auto wipes everything...flashes find but there is a problem preventing it from getting past splash right now. Showed him the error....I imagine easy fix once able to narrow problem...right now it halts before you can get much of a cause....

Swipe to dismiss in Sense? That's a new one here. Need to try this one out...

This is a fantastic rom.
I do have problems with the Notification swipe system. It can be sticky trying to remove notifications and you have to swipe to the right only. Just not as flowing compared to a ICS rom. Other than that an awesome rom well done.

Being slightly lazy, I simply flashed this ROM over my existing Endymion base....no wipe's...It worked fine....
The right gesture notification removal worked fine.....

Well I tried it, got confused with regards launchers (hence other thread and poll) tried a couple of them, set them up fully and then took a trusty nandroid before moving on for another day! Must say (although wrong thread IceColdSandwich is getting exceptionally good )
And its very nice to see someone trying to topple Endymion from the sense 3.5 thrown! Competition creates progress!

Ok haha, I've just tried this ROM, and very impressed! RCMix 4.0 & the Swipe-notifications is a killer feature!
I really wish lowveld would put these in the next Endymion update.... If there ever will be anymore...

Fixed it! It's under RCMix Tweaks -> Extras -> Bootanimation sound

Failed to change font via tweaks....help please. The default font is nice but i need it to be slightly bigger....

The new version of rcmix tweaks use cloud based downloadable tweaks. So you need a working net connection for the tweaks to be downloaded and applied.... This is one of the reasons lowveld hasn't updated endymion with these tweaks, and has instead come up with Endymion tweaks, with all necessary tweaks stored offline on the sd card... Helps avoid exactly these kind of situations...

Virtuous was always my 1st choice of sense 3.5 Roms, so many thanks for making it even better. Now if I could only get a black keyboard like the 3.6 Roms It would be perfect for me. Many thanks for this Rom.

I was connected to the internet via wifi so may be its something wrong with the cloud storage. Thanks for the background info, never knew that all

Actually just noticed that as well, in fact none of the tweaks I tried seem to work.
Can't change boot animation
In extra's I choose to install xda app and that doesn't do anything
Font's don't change
