I am running Windows Vista and downloaded the latest revolutionary and after extracting,I go to open the exe but it closes as soon as it opens. Why is it doing this?

I am pretty sure you have HTC Sync enabled on startup on your pc. So ctrl+alt+del , then go to processes, end all processes you see having htc in it's name. Now restart the revolutionary exe, should work now.

EASY SOLUTION
Download HTC Sync Setup for inspire from htc website. Run the installer but when the setup window comes to start installing Sync, just hit cancel and close it.
Voila, drivers done
I have an HTC Sensation and I tried to root it but unfortunalely because I am using a 64bit computer it does not work is anyone on here in Calgary that can help me root this baby and get S-off.
Thanks in advance
By trying to root it, do you mean trying to unlock it/get S-OFF? I just tried using revolutionary.io and it worked perfectly; I'm on Windows Ultimate 64bit.

Unistall HTC sync or any other app that syncs your phone with your computer, connect your phone in sync mode, a message will POP up saying no.sync application but just ignore it. And that should fix your problem

HTC Sync isnt required to S-off the phone. Once you have finished with Revolutionary you can reinstall HTC Sync.
Got ya. What exactly is the htc sync for? I always download, etc using mobile only.

Also, check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32573966#post32573966
Try installing htc sync manager. Not sure if you need adb for flashing RUU. But if needed, run 'adb devices' to check if your device is recognized.
