Guys,
I got my samsung galaxy SL -I9003 in india on may 2011. it was working fine till oct, 2011. i came to USA for a short trip. i got H2O prepaid sim card and started using my galaxy SL. i dont know what is the problem, now my phone often switch off automatically every 1 or 2 hours. each time i m restarting it, but then it goes switch off state within 1 hour.
i was facing this problem for a week and yesterday i thought of playing the music player in silent mode(to ensure some active application running in my phone), surprisingly the mobile havent went to switch off mode now. its working properly now.
Now, i want to find a solution to my phone permanently, i dont want to run the music player because of this problem for 24 hours on daily which drains the battery.
Please help.
Thanks,
KarthikShanth

Hello Everyone, I have a Samsung Galaxy R, I bought it a week ago, I haven't rooted it, and have no intentions of rooting it in near future. 2 days ago, the phone suddenly got switched off, and wasn't booting up.. and after trying 3-4 times, the problem was still there.. Then yesterday, again, the same thing happened, and the phone did not boot back up again. Can you please tell me what can be the problem? I have loads of apps installed and really need help regarding this problem my phone is facing.
Thanks in advance!
It could be some hardware problem with your device. Do you still have the warranty?
Have you tried an hard rest to see if the problem will disappear? (you will lose all your data thus..)
Ya i have full warranty. I wanted to clarify one thing, this problem occurs only during the night. I am saying this because it has happened two nights in a row..

During the night? Do u charge your phone normally trough this period?
I still suggest to try an hard reset first, if nothing change, luckily, you still have the warranty.
I went to the service center, they re-installed the firmware, and now the phone is working fine.. I guess..
If it is connected to a charger during that time, it could be related to some over charging protection.
The Phone, connected to the charger or not, automatically switches off on its own. Today I went to the service centre again. they tried to re-install the firmware again, and came to a conclusion that the motherboard of the phone needs to be replaced. :'(
I am really disappointed!
Hey i also have the same problem with my samsung galaxy R i9103 . Earlier it was switching off and it only booted once i removed its battery and then placed it back again . But about a week back when i got up i found that the phone was switched off and didn't start no matter what i do . I took it to sevice center and they are now in the pocess of eplacing its mother board . Keep me updated about your phone.

Since, Galaxy R was released to compete with LG Optimus 2X, now that LG have discontinued 2X, there is no reason for Samsung to compete at the same price point and subsequently have discontinued Galaxy R.
same problem
Same situation, hard reset procedure does nothing. Pressing volume up, power and home key. How long should you be sitting like that?

Hi guys, I got my G920i from an ebay seller that everyone here has been talking about. The phone was in great condition and everything was fine with the phone for the first 24 hours. Ever since then , my phone has been constantly rebooting after a few hours on it's own. I have not installed any apps that I normally don't have on my other android device , the oneplus one. The G920I is not rooted or anything. The only app I can think of , that is different this time from the OPO , is the samsung push service update. I checked around and could not see anyone else who had recvd the Push service update and was facing the same issue.
Please help!
same
I have the same issue. I also bought the international version off of eBay. I didn't notice anything for about two days, but have now had the phone restart on me three times. All three times I was not actively using the phone and the screen was off.
One thing that I tried was to reinstall the Samsung push service update. That worked for 3 days as I didn't see any more reboots. And just 15 mins ago it happened again while the phone was in my pocket. Hope this gets fixed soon.
It has happened to me twice. I just disabled the auto update feature for my apps to see if that actually works. Will let you know if it worked after a couple of days.
I've had the phone since last tuesday and didnt notice any random reboots until this app updated and now i have 3-5 a day

Can you check this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/nearby-wifi-portal-causes-constant-t3086743
Maybe it's the same issue and we can narrow down the problem.

Im only around open networks at work and it does the soft reboots around my house which is secured
My random reboots started shortly after the Samsung Push Services app was updated. I force stopped it, disabled it and uninstalled the update and I haven't had a reboot in a while.
My phone was rebooting several times every day before that.
Edit: The random reboots are back. This is very frustrating.
reflash the firmware fix the problem for me. No reboot since 24 hours. 5 to 6 reboots per day before. Hope it will continue.
I also have the same issue. It has happened 2 times for me, today and yesterday. I had the phone in my hand and suddenly I see the Samsung logo. Within 5 minutes it reboots 2-3 times. This sucks =(
I have the same problem, it only happens to me when I open Play Store or when I update something.
Edit: I have the F model.
I have had my 920i for almost a week, and I haven't had any random reboot at all. Everything works as supposed to.

I bought my 920i from Breed on Ebay. Everything has been great for the most part, but I do experience a random reboot at least once every few days. It just happened to me while sitting on my desk.
I am rooted, but I don't have any crazy customizations and I applied stock recovery after root. Only one app is frozen and it's that Samsung Security Agent process that was draining my battery. I also have it connected to a Gear S, but I'm pretty sure that's not the issue.
I wiped it twice yesterday and then set it up. It's definitely not a ROM/cache issue. I'll be interested to see if anyone figures out what this is. It could just be a bug that we'll have to deal with until the next update. Fortunately, the phone restarts super fast.
I also believe this is a software issue. I am not rooted and don't see myself doing that any time soon.
Which network are you using on your 920i? I am on AT&T network

AT&T here, also.
I'm using the G920F with an european carrier, so I think that is a global problem.
It happened to me twice today. That's a first. The only thing that's different is that I have a Gear S connected full time.
Didn't Android 5.01 cause the phone to reboot after some time due to running out of available memory?

Hi guys,
I have this problem with my galaxy s4 mini: a few days ago, soon after rooting the phone with the procedure found in this forum, mobile network began to work only on edge, and sometimes there is no service at all.
Therefore, I tried to check the sim in another phone, and it works good, I did a hard reset, and nothing changed.
Then, at this point I flashed the rom with a stock firmware, I flashed the modem, but mobile network wasn't working yet, (it was still working on edge).
Thus, I decided to flash the rom with a CM 13 (snapshot), and here something happened !
In fact, LTE/H/3g have begun to work, but only for short periods of time when in use (looking some stuff on the internet), like 10-20 minutes, and only when the battery is almost completely charged, at least until it reached 60%,
then, when it drops below, it begins to have the usual connection problems.
Since I've rooted the phone, I haven't installed any app, I put a sd card in it, another thing is that, when I use mobile network (internet or apps) the phone becomes really hot.
If someone could figure out what could be the problem, I'd really appriciate your help,
Thank you.

Hey there dudes .i just wanna ask something bout this prob of mine now. (Well not actually prob just little issue bout my battery usage) . This thingy just started showing off my smart manager in battery section saying "Learning Usage Patterns" and i really freaked out since i just recently bought this phone last week in an online shop. (It even asked me to update twice) And when i factory reset it yesterday noon (since it lags a bit) i started seeing that thing after the boot and the initialization of the phone.. and i was in panic mode yesterday so that noon its around 6pm i factory reset it again hoping it will fix it. Unfortunately it didnt.. i did tried lookng up the net bout this issue and saw several threads here in XDA and couple of them said wait for couple of days ... and i even contacted samsung support now and they called me telling me i should wait till this 6pm (since it counted as a day) ...so i was wondering if u guys could help me asap... theres no other prob on it. The performance is smooth and all... should i just wait for couple of days? Or is it a prob already in my software?
