Navigation commands incomplete - HTC Sensation

I read a lot of posts but no solution for that problem.
I use Google maps for navigation and the navigation commands are redirected to my car audio system via bluetooth.
Because the radio system needs some time to switch from radio to bluetooth stream the navigation commands are incomplete. I hear something like:
"... turn left"
and I missed the starting
"In 100 meter..."
I think I had the same with my previous Samsung Galxy S but this problem was solved with one of the early Android 2.3.5 betas.
I tried the Energy ROM because it's also 2.3.5 based but this didn't helps.
Using Sensation for radio to avoid stream switching isn't a option because car radio is much better (double tuner)
Any ideas how to solve this ?
Thanks in advance

Not too familiar with the cars inbuilt bt systems but I know I have a speakerphone and the bt cutting off issue was solved on the software side of things for me.
Is there a setting on the bt to not disconnect on the car's side? I assume other bt devices via bt works fine on the car.

[Q] google navigation volume/hidden audio tuning menu

I cant find any info on successfully accessing the audio hidden menu.
I have a problem that when I use a 3rd party music player and google navigation at the same time (i play the sound through the car stereo) then the volume of the navigation directions is reduced to almost zero when a headset/lead to car stereo is plugged into the headphone socket.
I've had a really goof look around and the fix mentioned in post 8 here looks to be the most educated and likely fix that I cant try as I cant find out how to access the hidden menu which leads to the audio tuning menu mentioned.
Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated

Bump.
I'm having this problem too. The only way I know that I'm coming up to a turn is that the music goes quiet for a few seconds.
This problem seems well documented across most phone platforms but fixes are few and far between, with most either waiting for an android or navigation update to fix the problem.
From my testing it shows that the problem only occurs when the 3.5mm head phone jack is being used so it seems sensible to try and access the volume control to control how the phone outputs audio to the jack for different apps.
Trouble is I cant - does anyone know how to access these hidden menus or perhaps just edit a config file or suchlike with the phone?
Thanks

This problem also occurs over bluetooth audio. I've tested it on the BT Audio in my car and my Jaybird bluetooth headphones.

hi guys, just wanted to share, i had been quite bothered with bugs like these... and have been searching the web for a long time... i found a solution apparently (cant remember the site name... but some official google guys replied or something) said that u need to check ur phone tts (text to speech) settings to make sure google tts is selected
apparently, if u are using things like v-lingo or samsung powerewd by v-lingo, it becomes soft... i tested this out... was very very surprised.. apparently it got way louder.
before this i tried a volume booster which did nothing but waste space on my phone. oddly ppl swear by those apps, all i could do was swear at it...
anyway.. enough rambling... hope this fixes ur issues

[Q] Google Navigation Over Bluetooth Car Kit

Trying to to get Google Navigation voice instructions to come through my bluetooth car kit but no joy - Phone is paired with the kit and phone calls come through the kit great ..... Am I missing a setting somewhere in the Car Panel settings I have car kit options as follows: Aito Connect ON and the car kit is selcted as the deault device ...
won't work if the car radio offers just the headset protocol. a2pd must be supported too soll all sounds from the droid will be relayed, like to normal headphones.
Thanks, how can I check if the car kit supports a2pd ??
Ok just checked a bit more about the car kit, it's supposed to sream stereo music so I'm assuming that means it supports A2PD ??
it should. when you connected, go to the bluetooth settings, find the car radio, long tap on it and look in the options if there are 2 checkmarks. 1 is for using as headset, second for media. make sure both are checked, that should do it.
Hello, you should need to put your car kit into audio stream mode... I've got Pioneer radio with BT and when I want to listen music from phone through BT I have to change the source on the radio to BT media stream, otherwise I won't hear the sound. If call is coming radio switch to phone call mode automatically.
thanks got it working, there is a button on the CDPlayer/Bluetooth Unit to switch to A2DP, the moral is always read the manual properly !
i guess i have a reason to continue within this thread:
i don't get the directions vom google navigation too. but, and that's the difference, it work's great with music - which i use all the time - und other apps like sygic. only the google navigation causes trouble.
to be more precise: the directions ARE played, but at such a low volume i can't really hear anything. all the volume-sliders are up to max, but that doesn't show any effect.
so i guess for some reason there's more of a software-issue in my case, since all this worked flawlessly on my former moto milestone.
i do remember it worked in the beginning. maybe rooting the device (and s-off via xtc-clip) started all that, but since i don't use it that often i can't really tell if that's really the case.
so, any ideas?

You'll need to increase media playback volume when you hear the voice prompt. Just press + volume button on the side and bring it to desired level.
I also have some issues with my Parrot 9100 kit. Beginning of the words are cut-off and then you can hear the announcement. I had the same problem with my Desire (not a Desire S) and I solved the problem by installing custom Ginger Villain Rom.
Now I have the same problem with the Desire S.
I guess there must be something with the HTC radio or Sense.
@aenis
thanks for your reply... but since i'm experienced in using g-navi i have already thougt of that, and media (and navi-) volume is, as i've said before, up to max...

possible to tweak Bluetooth connect settings??

Hello --
Anyone aware of MOD and/or app that would allow user to tweak Bluetooth connectivity settings for ONE_S/Ville?
my ONE_S disassociates with car Bluetooth every 30 seconds, then reconnects, all day long. My previous FOUR Android HTC phones never experienced this problem. It's annoying as all hell
the problem drove me root my ONE_S with sole purpose of trying new TMOUS RADIO. This did not solve the problem.
currently, ONE_S running LeeDroid v2.1 with latest TMOUS radio.
same Bluetooth problem with car audio before and after root. Plantronics Voyager Pro headset at home works fine.
any suggestions would be appreciated.
Note: I have contacted dealer service to see if software update available for auto stero.
Check out a2dp volume in the market. It might help...
To the OP, there are other threads on this. Unpair your device from the Car, on the H1S go to advanced Bluetooth settings and turn off MAP, now repair and reconnect to the car ... fixed?
v looked in the advanced settings and can't see the MAP option. What is it exactly?

Second on A2DP volume... fixed my Bluetooth issues with the One S.

Bluetooth not auto connecting to car radio

I paired my phone with my car's bluetooth radio and noticed the following behavior:
- If I turn on my car radio and then turn bluetooth on on my One X, it will auto connect and start playing music.
- If I turn on bluetooth on my One X, get in my car and turn on the radio, my One X will not auto-connect. I have to go into the bluetooth settings screen and select my car's device name (CAR M_MEDIA) and then it connects and starts playing music.
I can turn on and off my One X's bluetooth repeatedly while in the car and it will connect each time, but it doesn't ever connect if I turn on and off the car's radio.
I tried a bunch of roms, including Stock, CleanROM and others in the development forum and finally I tried CM10. They all behave the exact same way.
Seeing that CM10 also has the issue caused me to give up and come here for help, because my Atrix 4G with CM9 never had this issue. I might try CM9 on my One X as a last resort.
Any help on this one?
What model/year car, and is it a manufacturer stereo, or a 3rd party head unit? Every stereo head unit and phone is a bit different, and some combinations simply don't play well together.
I have had the same issue with my 2012 Subaru Impreza, with factory stereo (non-nav version). Tried any of a variety of things (different ROMs, editing some of the BT config files), and nothing worked. Also have the issue that even when i manually connect it, it doesn't connect maybe 20% of the time. And when it does, the steering wheel controls to change the music track only works maybe half the time.
I called HTC support, had to escalate the issue to get anyone to listen to me, and they tried the usual (update phone firmware, safe mode) with no luck (not surprising). They said all they could do was log the issue, and hope that it gets addressed in a future update. Probably the most you can do is call HTC also, so they at least start to get the message that its a known issue. The HTC tech also mentioned it may be a feature that is disabled on purpose, due to a known security issue.
I think its a fault of the BT stack, which is HTC proprietary. On my old HTC Desire Z, newer versions of Sense seemed to work better with my car stereo BT. Unfortunately, with the One X, it seems they have taken a step backward. I also noticed on my old DZ that AOSP based ROMs worked better with my car stereo BT, and also displayed the track info (artist, title, etc) on my car stereo which is something that the HTC Bluetooth stack never does. So I assume it was a different non-HTC Bluetooth stack. So therefore, like you, I thought an AOSP ROM might fix the problem. I tried AOKP (ICS) but not CM9, and AOKP didn't help. Not being a dev, I'm not sure where the BT stack comes from in AOSP ROMs. On AOKP, the track info was not displayed on my car stereo, and the config files were the same as HTC stock, leading me to believe it was the HTC stack. Maybe somebody with more knowledge can shed some light on the matter of AOSP ROMs and the Bluetooth stack, as I've been wondering this.
My car is a 2011 Subaru Impreza. Coincidence? Probably not. I know the car does something different than my other Bluetooth headset because music starts when it connects to the car but not when it connects to my headset. I have to press play on my headset for the music to launch.
Also the headset auto connects reliably to my One X, no matter which one I turn on first, unlike my car. Perhaps a hint is there? Maybe some logs would shed some light on the problem?
Edit: just tried CM9, same result. I never did logcat so I'm not sure if that would help, would it?

OPO Pandora In-Car HU Controls

Hi,
I have a Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS DVD Receiver installed in my car and it has the Pandora app on it. This allows it to display the artist name, song, gives the ability to thumbs up/down from the touch screen itself and is useful.
I was able to use this with my Nexus 5 but when my OPO is connected via bluetooth this isn't available.
Does anyone know what the difference between the N5 and OPO is in regards to being able to launch the pandora app on my headunit?
Looks like this feature is called Pandora Radio Ready.
Thank you.

Which ROM are you running? I have the AVH-X2700BS and running CM11S (XNPH44S) on my OPO, both bluetooth audio and Pandora control works decently well. I almost exclusively use Pandora over bluetooth audio and typically with about every 5 or 6th song change the song info will not change, but upon switching to the next song it will. If that makes sense. I've have no issues with Pandora control over bluetooth as well although i've had very little usage .
Now, the reason i ask which ROM you are using is because i recent upgraded to CM12 (YNG1TAS17L) in hopes that it would fix or mitigate the touch screen issues i've been having lately. After updating to that, when i stream Pandora over bluetooth i get no song info and the controls don't work at all. I did not try the Pandora control.
Question for you: Do you contacts sync properly with the HU? My contacts say they sync yet there's nothing under phonebook but recent calls does show the names and numbers properly.
I have a Z150BH. Just tried Pandora via bluetooth for the first time today. Pandora seems to work as designed, and controls work fine. It was just a short drive so will put more time into the eval and get back any meaningful changes of thoughts.
What I would like to do, however, is 'cast' my screen to the Pioneer unit. Thinking a wifi weather, then WIFI direct ought to work, with a Netear HD adapter.

Which ROM are you running? As i stated in my post i had major issues with CM12 and very few with CM11. I'd love to be able to cast my screen too...without having to purchase an additional $$ adapter. I'd also like to be able to use any headset with controls that i want. I'd REALLY love to be able to use the touchscreen when the phone gets slightly warm as well! Some flagship killer. /rantover. :silly:

I'm running stock CM12S but it hasn't worked with 11 or 12. My contacts and the dialer sync perfectly and when I use the "bluetooth" function on my headunit I can stream and control the phone fine but what I'm trying to use is the app.
For instance in this screenshot:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/PUSA/Images/Product Images/Car/AVH-X3500BHS_angle1.jpg
The bluetooth icon on the top right works fine, but the pandora icon second from the right on the top row does not even light up as an option for me to use (where it did when I connected my Nexus 5).
This is what I want to be able to use:

I think you have 3 options...
1) Wait for a possible fix in an upcoming update.
2) Find and flash the bluetooth stack from CM11 (not sure if this is possible or available)
3) Go back to CM11.
I'm not a robot! Thanks, captcha.

Is it a bluetooth stack thing that prevents some headunits from seeing certain phones over others? (Such as Nexus 5 vs OPO).
I'm not sure if that's a BT stack issue or incompatible protocol, etc. Maybe someone else with more knowledge can chime in on this one.
Interesting, looking at the phones on phonearena it looks like the N5 has v4.0 and A2DP whereas the OPO only has 4.0.
I wonder if A2DP is the culprit here.
