i installed the new sense o maniac rom but ,i have the problem that the INSERTCOIN logo appears at the beginning of booting .. i wiped everything and installed a new cwm but nothing helps
what can be the problem =
Did you rename the original bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak? Sounds like its playing both bootanimations

no i changed nothing .. also when i boot to cwm i only see the insertcoin logo ..

go into system/customize/resources and change current boot animation to bootanimation.zip.bak and save.
nowdownload boot animation you are wanting to use. place file into system/resources/customize as bootanimation.zip. reboot and your good to do
note: if your useing android revolution hd rom, instead of system/resources/customize its data/local.
cwm is outdated i believe many would agree. try installing this instead.

I have been trying to customise my boot animation and splash screen and have come accross a few issues, any help would be apreciated guys
1) so the bootanimation.zip is in /system/media/ right? but how do we get the audio to work with it? should it be the same format/filename as other android devices? because the one im trying to use from my DHD wont work
2) i've been trying to flash a new splash screen, i have an unlocked bootloader, i converted a .bmp into a spash .img but when i tried to flash it fastboot returns the error "partition not found" what is the splash partition called on the play if it's not splash1
Sorry to dig out an old thread I'm also interested in making a new splash screen for my xplay and I can't find no play specific instructions.
Any of the free xperia guys fancy shedding some light on this? I like the freexperia splash but also would like to flash my own design.

Sony have messed up partition tables compared to other android phones, it looks like there isnt even a splash1 partition, i wouldnt be suprised if, the spash is held in /boot like recovery, meaning to change the splash, we would have to add it to the boot.img and flash that

Thinking about it yes it will be in boot.img as when you flash cm7 splash screen gets changed to free xperia splash. Ill extract boot image from cm7 and take a look when i get time.

But when flashing cm7 splash screen changes, and its only boot and system img what gets flashed.

The file is part of the system.img
You can replace the boot animation located at
/system/media/bootanimation.zip
Make sure to chmod 644 the file

Doomlord actually wrote a tutuorial on making splash screens for the xperia devices.....

there is only one i know of and thats the CRT animation that most roms have
you can look into LeeDroid he changed his unlock ring to have his name on it.

No, I mean like Nexus S style, or CyanogenMOD 7. The CRT- OLD TUBE TV Animation when you lock/unlock your phone

LeeDROIDs ROM comes equipped with this and by far the best rom I have tried

I tried that and it doesn't work
It is already in leedroid's rom. Where u turn off the screen and shuts off with the animation.

I think what people are looking for is either a zip or a how to for this. Some of us don't really need/want to flash an entirely new rom.

Enable animations, it doesn't have to be all. I have some and it works fine.
Settings - Display - Animation - Some window animations are shown.

It changes boot animation, removing htc animation boot ...
I think Im not sure but your saying that you wanna change the boot animation? When you have a custom rom some of the boot animations are already in there... I personally havent changed mine and Im using CoreDroid... I would like to find out how to change it... There is an old version of insert coin that I use... I think its Insert Coin 1.0.9 and I can change all of that and the phone is still very quick... If you are talking about the image before your boot animation that would be your splash logo that you can change by going here

If you flash rom on top you will change only bootanimation not splash. You have to do it manually for example from terminal.
Just flash another bootanimation.zip and replace splash image/first boot image .

Yes i did it with a soft i found to splash, and it's ok now !! thanks a lot all of you guys.
What is the stock splash image ? Can I simply delete current insert coin ugly splash ??
you can get rid of it by installing any stock rom
Nexus PRIME bootanimation and matching downanimation (qHD)
Honeycomb bootanimation and matching downanimation (qHD)
Black bootanimation Beats by Dr. Dre and matching downanimation (qHD)

Some ROMs have boot animation in /data/local some ROMs in /system/customize/resources directory.

With any file manager, copy boot animation on /system/customize/ or /data/local (depends of ROM you are using) or... Check the first link in my signature.

I loaded the attached bootanimation.zip and it looked amazing, except that it was going a little bit too fast.
I've attached a "downclocked" version that should be at a more typical animation speed. Rename to just "bootanimation.zip" and push where appropriate on your system.

just open the zip file and have a look at the images
and PLEASE change the color of your writing...
For those using Android Revolution (I'm using 3.6.2, not sure if this qualifies for previous versions) use Root Explorer. The original bootanimation.zip is under data/local. Copy and overwrite with this zip.
Also, is it just me or does this boot animation look a little dull? As if the colors aren't vibrant... Maybe that's how the original looks. This animation is still bad ass. Best animation I've seen so far...maybe not the colors though!

i have rooted the phone is s-off and the phone is stuck on the boot animation screen andriod revoloution hd 3.6.1 stuck on boot animation
