MIUI 4.0.1
I actually turned down a Skyrocket for $200 because I have absolutely zero complaints with this ROM.

Alright, lets see how these votes go

Darky rom JVR 10.3 update...tweaked out an fast.... yall ready?

Illuminance II on the UCKI3 modem.

GingerReal 1.1.9
Infusion-GB (sorry entropy, gotta have OC)
UCKI3 or T959VUVKH1 modems
Already super smooth/no data drop like on CM7, will install thunderbolt or USAS soon.

CM7 is working for me right now. It may be getting a little bit old, but since it is running stable for me at the moment, I will probably stick with it until AT&T releases GB for our lovely big screened handheld supercomputer... jk we will never get GB... at least not before we get ICS
Sent from Zeus

After two months on s7 I now am sporting Gingereal 1.9, usas13, infusion core a2, and kk1 modem. All very smooth

Darky -> Dlev -> Galnet MIUI ICS (Black Ice ICS theme, GO Launcher with additional ICS theming)
First time opting for a non-Samsung ROM as a daily driver. Even with its hiccups, it's smooth and stable, and I get my hardware accelerated 1080p FLAC+subtitles MKV with DicePlayer. I'm missing the TouchWiz contacts app though.
Edit: Screenshots:

Hay GGX im kinda interested in seeing what you have setup, if you dont mind editing your post and putting up couple screenshots of what that looks like, would be nice to see
Thanks again for our infuse members placing their votes, i really wanted to see how our members have been using these roms , especially with the incredible dumps which have been coming lately lmao

Tried a good few of the roms available, like them all but seem to keep falling back to CM7. The phone just seems to run the best with it. And the UCKJ1 modem is the best I've found for the area I live in!

Sorry, but I didn't (I did some searching, but I didn't actually try to install it). I did everything using only MIUI's built-in settings and GO Launcher.

MIUI is by far...the smoothest snappiest ROM. Just no bluetooth. if u dont use bluetooth this is the ROM for you. Really the only 2 choices are Infused and MIUI and then there are some other mumbo-jumbo ones that half work......

Honestly, I didn't like MIUI, i thought it looked pretty childish IMO lol You should also consider Dlev Rom. Trying them all out wouldn't hurt either, everyone has their own opinion...
So far, my personel best experience has been with Serendipity VII.
MIUI...S7...CM7 have been my favorites . Running MIUI and have to say it is my number one choice.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
yeahhh ive seen a bunch of people that like miui, im gonna try them all this week to see... thanks
DLEV is my favorite. I had infused until gtg left. And miui does look a lil' kiddie. What I love about fleck is the smoothness. It blazes! And if you apply 99 tweaks and S.A.S. on top of it, it becomes insane. If you like benchmark #'s I consistently get 27500.

Personally, I'm running Infused with Entropy's kernel and a bunch of custom CPU settings. My phone is blazing fast - just no HDMI out as with all GB ROMs so far as it seems.
Everyone's gonna have their own preference. Get familiar with flashing and start playing with different ROMs. The only way you'll find your preference is by trying.
Personally for me, I prefer battery life over performance (such as HD video displays, high mem-usage games, etc) so I like Infused for that. I get roughly 26 hours on a charge with JuiceDefender and moderate usage...
Good luck!

New to the G2x Family!

I just ordered the G2x tonight on a black Friday deal for free from t mobile, very excited to get this phone. im coming from the Samsung galaxy s which is a great phone but my techie needs cry out for a duel core processor. anyways I hope to be seeing you all around the forums in about 4 days when it comes in the mail & also its nice to see a familiar face around here krylon360 has done great things with the sgs4g and his rom will be the first on my phone once rooted anyways hope you all had a great thanksgiving.
Maybe ur already aware of this... but its not bad to refresh it...
To do list:
1. NVFLASH CWM!! There are some neat guides at the dev forum.
2. Make your first backup and save it on ur PC.
3. Choose ur favorite ROM flavor, sprinkle it with a custom kernel and enjoy!
A good start can be a stock rom like whitehawk's weapon x 2.3.3 or jboxers 2.3.4 roms, rock solid (although 2.3.4 roms lack of source so there are no custom kernels for now)
But if u feel more experimented you should choose CM7 or miui... recent nightlies are quite stable...

Weapon would be my first choice to start with. Then MIUI or CM7.
Once you do MIUI or CM7 you'll never go back.
G2x - 2.3.7 CM7
Transformer - 3.2 Revolver OC/UV
Tried miui for the first time yesterday... its sick... krylons rom is alright... but hasn't been updated at all... so I agree with weapon or cm or miui... latest miui is on rootz by whitehawkx

I had trouble with Weapons my wifi and data alone was really slow,no clue why I hear great things about it.Plus I had to use stock message to send pics and was really slow.I went with Eaglesblood pretty fast wifi and data is amazing along with fast pic sending.I could use gosms too which I like using.
dirtyPISTOLA you'll love this phone
Once you use miui you'll never go back lol everything work great and there so many theme is the best im useing the latest rom whitehawkx ported over very stable. with the faux123 0.4.4 kernel.
Hail to the King, baby!...
But anyways, welcome! Glad to have you aboard, its a great time to have a G2x! CM7, Eaglesblood, Weapon, MIUI... the stock ports of LG roms and even the in-progress ICS port! Just to name... a few, hahaha.
Faux's kernel is .4.5 now btw

I just picked up the Skyrocket just wondering what ever one is using
Skyrocketeer w/faux123's Kernal + Launcher Pro Launcher. Works very well. Just waiting on ICS.

another vote for sky ICS. Nexus is nice as well, but less themed.
I have been using SkyStocketeer, but since it hasn't been updated in awhile I swapped over to Bouyancy.
Very very pleased with this one so far. Stable and quite speedy for me.
im using nexusmod 2.0 currently it works like a champ i have yet to have a FC on it. Very Stable Very Fast and my battery life has been good.
Nexusmod 2.0 as well.

currently using NexusM0D v2.0
waiting for NexusM0D v2.1 or buoyancy 1.3.1
I am currently using SkyICS RC7 with Faux123's kernel..
pretty good.. fast. i get some jitter when i scroll through some menus (i.e. my call log), battery life is pretty good as well..
I had NexusMOD2.0 with faux123 installed.. i liked this one too.. very stable, never one FC (in 2 weeks of using it) and battery life was AMAZING!!
the only reason i switched is cause i like trying new things, and GO Launcher EX didn't run as smooth on the nexusMod 2.0 ROM..
Im new to andriod and got a skyrocket a month ago, and now i love the ability to switch between roms. currently running SkyICS rc7 with Faux kernel. very fast and have little issues with it but im addicted to flashing and will probably change soon so many great roms to choose from thanks for everyones hard work

I did a clean install of Weapon. Rebooted and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rebooted again and let it sit. Then I flash New Clip and let it sit for a bit. New Clip flashes over Weapon. Then I flashed my favorite theme. Stayed with the kernel that comes with it. I have never had great luck with alternative kernels and I really have no need for overclocking.
Kwes has an ICS like theme that looks great. Then I added ADW ex and loaded an ICS theme for it. I am very happy with the setup. Been running it this way for several months.
I have been playing around with the V6 Super Charger script but for whatever reason I seem to run out of memory faster when web surfing. I am still learning about everything it does, so I am not 100% sure that it is set up correctly for my needs.

Using latest version of Eaglesblood with faux kernel. It's stable, and battery life is awesome. I'm not into ROM swapping. When find one that works, I stick with it, and it's looking like I'll be with this one for a while. Maybe when an ICS ROM gets refined, I'll give it a go. I would like to have Chrome on the android.
Using CM 7.2 RC1 with faux ds kernel. I get about thirteen hours of medium use, light use lasts a couple of days.
It's a great stock rom without the problems of LG based ones.

Im currently rocking...The latest and greatest... seriously Sooo many INCREDIBLE roms to choose from its hard to keep still. however... i recently gave miui (singh)another shot just for fun and am currently hooked. AMAZED at the smoothness and utter sexiness of the theme engine and GIGANTIC selection of themes. This will definetly keep my interest for some time! the ui is different and fun too. Only Con so far is the normal CM7 quirk (upside down video chat), nothing too big to keep me from rockin it for a while.

Actually looks fine. But I notice more stutter than before, perhaps the ICS animation is bogging it some down.
Still a fan of CM7/Cm9.
I can honestly say, I'm sticking to the G2X despite having a Galaxy GS2. I truely enjoy the Cyanogen ROMS and can't wait for it to come CM9 on G2X and GS2
Also that Samsung is too big. Should have waited. Not sure I'll get any device over 4 inch screen. But thats me

Blue tooth does not work on any ics rom on the infuse...
Neither does HDMI...
Please read the ops they typically tell you what isn't working and what isn't working in there roms...
Also Bluetooth has never worked 100% on cm7...this is a well known problem...it only works partially

mhl doesnt work in aosp on any samsung yet. if it makes it to the i9100 then entropy will try his best to port it to the infuse im sure. i think the skyrocket and i9100 also have bt issues on the ics roms.
if you want a phone with everything working ans are partial to samsung get a galaxy s. either a vibrant or a i9000 or captivate. the bt chip is different in the sgs and they are fully functional. if you want hdmi you need to switch to a different manufacturer. htc maybe. but i dont know for sure.
I don't know about you guy's, but i have been using Infused v2.2.3 with the blue Infusion V2 them as my daily driver for close to a year now. It has been rock solid right from the get go with everything working great, including bluetooth.
More recently i have updated the kernel to Infusion-Z which also adds HDMI-MHL video output capability. So with literally everything working perfectly and rock stable performance, there really is no need for me to keep flashing other ROMS.

I find that most ROM's try to distinguish themselves with themes and new lockscreens or task bars etc. I have found that the most important thing to me personally was a rooted rock solid base ROM where all functionality works all the time. The rest can be added individually such as ICS themes, wallpaper, custom lock screens, over clock, underclock etc to suit performance and battery life tastes.
Every month or so i get my feet wet with another ROM flash just for fun. However i always keep coming back. At the end of the day, all i really want is everything working reliably as it was intended when i need it.
