[App] Market 3.3.12 - Android Apps and Games

Here is the link for the newest Market, Version 3.3.12. It brings a lot of new options, just like the previous version, like All Apps Auto-Update, or update only by WiFi. I've confirmed that I can purchase apps, and this (edit: should) install over your existing Market with no issues.
Market 3.3.12
This link was pulled from Android Police, so head to their site if you want more details.
Tip: Clear data on the new market before opening it. This seems to resolve some Force Close issues for some.
If a direct install didn't work, here's a work around process:
1. Download the file from above ( Market-3.3.12.apk) to your SD card.
2. In Root Explorer, find the file you just downloaded and copy it.
3. Move it to /system/app and hit the R/W button to enable writing privileges, then paste the file.
4. Find Vending.apk and rename it to something like Vending.apk1.
5. Long press on Market-3.3.12.apk and rename it to Vending.apk.
6. Afterwards, long press on it again and choose“"Permissions".”
7. Change the permissions to this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
8. Press“"OK", reboot your phone, and enjoy the new market.
For Apps not showing in Market, do the following:
While in Titanium Backup, press Menu, Market Tools, then Market Doctor. Select the Apps you want to reconnect to the Market.
Alternatively, you can search for the App in Market, then simply Uninstall, then Reinstall. You can then restore the App data with TB.

It should install as an update, you'll be fine.

works fine! thanks!

THanks it works!

Installed on my Atrix running CM7 Ba2tF and I got a boot loop. I didn't make a nandroid backup because I thought the worse that could happen was it not working properly and that I could just revert back. I made a nandroid backup, copied it to my computer, then undid the steps (Deleted Vending.apk and Renamed Vending.apk1 to Vending.apk), then copied the new system.ext4.tart md5 hash to nandroid.md5, copied it to the sdcard and tried restoring it, that didn't work either so I tried wiping the cache, dalvik cache, and fixing permissions. None of that worked so it looks like I have to re-flash my phone now.
I don't know what's causing the boot loop but you should make a nandroid backup before you do this just in case.

Works just fine.

Yes, this is used on your computer to create update.zips to flash in recovery, to add apks to your phone.
Wow, this is fantastic! A few minutes sitting at the computer to organize all the 3rd party apps i'd install from a "Clean Start" saves a ton of time.

Regaw -
Does this allow the market to update said apps? Or no?.
One thing thats frustrating to me although minor in the grand scheme of things is preinstalled nonstock apps may or may not show updates in the market.
And how does this differ from just reinstalling those saved apps from your sdcard (because i backup my favorite apps after i install them) after you start over from scratch or restore from an old nandroid backup
What say you ye app creator

Not sure on the market updates, will check tomorrow. It differs from the sdcard backups by making a signed zip to flash in recovery instead of clicking each one to install in a root explorer. You can do all that at once by flashing a zip. I'm sure you know that though lol This app also contains most of the stock 2.2 apps that came on the phone as well.

Change T-Mobile Wifi Calling icon for Sensation 4G

This icon has bugged forever... and I finally took care of it...
I couldn't find this for Sensation 4G... so I took from Galaxy SII forum and with a little guidance from XDA member KaneHusky got it done
So if you are on T-Mobile, and rely on wifi calling like I do, and want an ICS syle icon that is always in upper left corner... this is for you
(I am running CM9 RC1)
Before:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After:
1. Use root explorer to copy wifi calling .apk from system\app to root of sd card
(In CM9 file is: HTC-PYRTM-ICS-4.0.1-2.3-49986-4.3.apk)
2. Mount to PC and use 7-Zip to explore .apk (dont extract or mess with anything, just explore)
3. Explore to the folder: res\drawable-hdpi\
4. make sure icons are saved and renamed accordingly:
blue: "ic_status_notify.png"
green: "status_icon_incall.png"
5. Right-click drag to Copy the two attached icon files into the folder (they will overwrite ugly ass icons)
6. Copy over original .apk in system\app (backup original to be safe)
reboot into recovery, wipe cache, (i also fixed permissions although I don't think it's necessary) then reboot and enjoy the cleaner look
Boom
UPDATE:
Sorry Everyone.... didn't realize the attached images are renamed when inserted into a thread...
which makes my whole post meaningless as they will only overwrite the proper icons if named the same.
the step by step above has been elaborated on to hopefully alleviate this issue.

Updated APK
Hello,
Thanks first to Da_Sheezy for making this, I really like the new icons.
In the spirit of making things easier and the implied approval of Da_Sheezy, I am attaching the modified apk, so people don't have to do the whole 7zip thing.
In short, here are the steps:
1. Turn off Wifi in your phone, this is just a precaution.
2. Download the attached file.
3. Save it to root directory of SD card.
4. With Root Explorer, [/B]copy original apk (for backup purposes) anywhere in the SD card, but the root directory.[/B]
5. Now, copy the downloaded file to system/app, it will ask you if you want to replace the file, say yes. You phone will freeze for a couple of seconds and reboot automatically.
6. After rebooting, go back to system/app using Root Explorer and change permissions to rw-r--r--
7. Reboot your phone one more time and you are done.
I hope that this helps some people. I am currently running CM9 RC2 and it is working like a charm.
Thanks again to the OP for this.

What Is It?
Aroma App Package Creator is an application for those who flash new rom's often and want an easy way to create a flashable zip to reinstall apps. This utilizes Aroma Installer for more customization, allowing you to choose which apps to be installed instead of installing all of them. I made this tool for myself after seeing strawmetal's Flashaholic Essential Packs and wanted a way to produce the same results without editing multiple config files for each "pack" I make. I hope everyone else will find it useful as well
How To Use: Click Steps For Screenshot
1) Download the aroma-app-package-creator.jnlp file and run by double clicking it
You must have Java 6 or higher for the application
You will have to accept a security warning. This is normal for all applications using Java Web Start
2) Click the + button under the Group Names list to create a new group
3) Add an app to a group by selecting the desired group, then click the + under the Apps list
5) Flash your zip like any other in recovery

Q&A
Q: How will updates be distributed?
A: Every time you run Aroma App Package Creator it checks the server for an update. If there is a new version it will be downloaded automatically.
Q: Everything seems to work, but when I reboot none of the apps have been installed. What's going on?
A: Try downloading a zip that utilizes Aroma Installer for your device (such as a rom or theme) and pull the update-binary-installer from it and put it into the zip created with the Aroma App Package Creator.
Q: The above didn't work...Now What?
A: Sign the zip and try again. You can find information on how to do so on google, or use this application: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/tool-to-auto-sign-multiple-apks-and-zips/
Please post any bugs/errors so they can be fixed
I will test, today.

looks good ..i will test it now
This is sick. I love it, works great on gs3.
After selecting the apps .the apps dont install
simply it says installing Apps but none of the apps get installed.
Help me out
Nice tool... :good:
Some feature suggestion:
Select Theme
Checkbox to delete dalvic + cache (not all app require this)
Okay, so this is giving me a flashable zip that installs apps at /data/app. What about /system?
And files other than apk files will be awesome.
Thanks for your good work.
This looks very cool
Will it work on a rooted phone with stock recovery (In my case SGS2) or just CWM?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gklDSVmGkMc
Crappy resolution, but here's how it works on an S3
For the S3 you need to use the "Yes/alternate" method for the touch calibration... also the colors are totally off but it's still readable and usable. Just has a blue tint to it lol.
Or just use my values:
Code:
119490.00, 2030.00, -619140.00, -840.00, 116060.00, 228210.00, 117939.75, 20
This is on the Rogers I747M S3. (Should be the same for AT&T).
Just wondering... The calibration makes the zip flashable only for the model being calibrated, right?

That's right. It's so the touch screen coordinates line up etc.
I kinda wish there was an option for text based only where it would just install all the APKs that you put in the zip. I don't need the fancy UI, I just want to flash the zip, have them installed and done.

OP... Any plans to put this on the playstore?
I'd like to note again just how great this app is. Saved me a TON of time after my recent clean flash.
Why does Pairs have a process and service active? I just noticed under Settings / Developer / Running Services that Pairs is listed there. Its been literally days since it was used...

Try installing apk by launching it with a third party file explorer instead of the notification or the stock download manager.
That worked. I went and found the file in ES File Explorer and then when I tried to install it from there it worked. Strange. Thank you.

does anyone know a similar app for android 5.0< ? I have android 4.3 Jelly Bean and want an app like this.
Still love this app, I'd pay for it. Moving to Nugat was easy peasy.
Wow long time needed. Never found without complications. Pls keep it as simple as it is!

apk in /system/app ignored

Hello guys,
As the title said, i was once able to copy apk in /system/priv-app and got them installed after a reboot; too bad it looks like it doesn't work anymore. I tried also /system/app, but still nothing.
The Story Behind: Few ROM flashing ago, i decided to install the pixel launcher app. Downloaded and installed it, it works well out of the box, whit the exception of the swipe left gesture. Some googling revealed me that the launcher must be installed as a system app for make the swipe work, and here start my struggle: i can't remember what i did (did i cut the /data/app/com.android.nexuslauncher-1 folder and pasted it in /system/app/? Or did i download the apk again and moved it in /system/app?) but anyhow it started work flawless at the next reboot (also the swipe function!) . I have tried booth and countless other path and reboot, but there's no way to see it installed. I can of course install it whit the default android package installer.
More info: Honor NOTE 8, rooted, build B320, android 7.0, emui 5.0

I believe the apk must be inside a folder (like all the others)
Name that folder "nexuslauncher".
Then rename the apk file to " base.apk"
Finally, move the apk file into the nexus launcher folder, then give it the proper permissions and reboot.
Hello, thanks for the reply.
I just tried doing as you said, but still nothing. I forget to mention that if I install it manually, it get uninstalled at reboot. As attachment a couple of screenshot: the first taken when the app is installed, before the reboot, the second one taken after the reboot: the whole "installation information" tab is missing after reboot ?

Install it using the package installer, then use titanium backup to move it to the system.
Not even titanium backup worked.
This is by far the strangest thing I've ever witnessed.
For records, TB "convert to system app" feature took the Pixel launcher's app folder in /data/app, packed it as com.google.android.nexuslauncher.apk and placed it in /system/app/.
Still, it keep getting ignored on reboot.
As attachment a screenshot pre &post reboot. I do also try to remove all orphan data about PL, and deep searched the whole volume looking for PL residual, deleting anything.
I tried also flashing it with openGapps, with the same result. (Google camera, installed with the same openGapps installer, is up and working).
Now, I can totally live without PL, but I'm really curious about what's happening
A late update: in case someone at some point get through this post.
The launcher work fine (swipe right included) if I unroot the device after placing it in the app folder: still don't know why ?

place apk file in /system/app folder and install that apk file then reboot your android.
Just tried, no luck with the working apk placed in /system/app and than installed from that path. I tried also to maintain the folders structure /system/app/com.google.android.apps.nexuslauncher-1 and install from that path, still without luck: in both cases the app is gone after the reboot.
Thanks for your interest.
Ok, it's done for good.
I cleaned the /data/app folder from all the launcher installation: there were something like 5 launcher folders. Placed the APK in /system/priv-app/Nexuslauncher and installed with the "root package installer" of FX explorer instead of the standard package installer. Don't know why, and I got the filing that I already have done this a couple of thousands time,but this time it worked.
