Here it is guys, the notification toggle mod for our phones!
I've ported this mod from the X10's T.E.A.M. ROM with awesome help by pvyParts!
This port is bug free and based on the original 4.0.2.A.0.42 SystemUI.

You just need full root acces. Take a look at the dev section.

You cant flash this through recovery because its not a zip file. Best thing to do is get a program like androidcommander and copy the file over manually. (the program does the adb commands for you)
the file needs to go in system/app and cant be installed like a regular apk.
and you don't need an unlocked bootloader, just full root access

Sorry,but could you explain further? I have root, and copy file to system/app wit root explorer, and cant install it...And I lost system bar now...Any help?
I can't get this to work either.
Androidcommander says I don't have root access even though I'm rooted, and the FAQ infers that I'll have to wipe my phone completely with a new flash and a modified boot.img to get Root Access (which would also require me to learn about editing ROM images).
I did get Busybox though, and I backed up my SystemUI.apk from before... after killing it off from the system/app folder I noticed I can at least restore the old one by installing it as a normal application... but getting this new one simply hasn't been working for me.
Ugh... patience is wearing thin.

Boom, sweet victory! I got it working... just had to drive myself near insanity with Android Terminal Emulator.
Added BusyBox to the list of SuperUser Access apps, got Terminal Emulator from the Android Market, moved the SystemUI.apk to the root of my SDCARD and entered the following commands:
su
cd /sdcard/
mount -o remount rw /system/ (somehow [mount -o remount,rw /system/] didn't work because of the comma)
cp -f SystemUI.apk /system/app
...and now I can do something I've been wanting to do for ages... NotificationToggle... get the **** off my system
Got it to work through insecure adb...What i did was install insecure adb via the apk (this cuases your phone to reboot after installing) , typed in "adb remount" in cmd and the simply used this command: adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app/SystemUI.apk.
NOTE - You will have to put the system ui.apk into the same folder as adb and browse to that folder using command prompt.
I'm fairly new to this stuff so no idea if what I did is correct...BUT it is working for me now

tried uninstalling with your instructions and still says application install failed. any ideas?
im trying to figure it out too i uninstalled it and still it wont install the new launcher..
Edit:
Type this in Terminal Emulator or in Better terminal Emulator if you have it
su

Y'all should be adb pushing only (no astro or w/e) until devs start including this in their roms...
Working on OE 1.2.2, should work on anything that already has some inferior launcher2.
Try
Code:
adb push c:\wherever\Launcher2.apk /system/app
And if it says read only file system, type
Code:
adb remount
and then retype above code.
Thanks gonna use root explorer, to late at night for me to be typing commands and what not.

Punctuation is key.
Here's what I did on King's 1.6.1
su
rwsystem
rm /system/app/Launcher.apk
cp /sdcard/Launcher.apk /system/app
reboot
Thanks for the drop.
After further review, while this version of Launcher 2 has fixed the transparency issue, it's a LOT slower than the existing Launcher 2 we've been using. Until this is resolved, it's not worth installing IMO.

I have 3 mytouch 3G's the main one is running Cyan
and yes
rm /data/app_s/Launcher2.apk
on Kings ROM 1.6.1 the Launcher2.apk is located in app_s you might also want to save the new launcher2.apk in the same app_s directory
is there any way to modify this launcher so that it works properly on landscape mode?
im guessing theres sizing issues and whenever you click an app
it oppens the one above it.
ideas?
This launcher I am sure will not have landscape mode for a long time...
Maybe when 2.1 goes to the Droid? But then again this Launcher was built by google not HTC so the update might not be on Droids 2.1

Go to system/media. Then delete the bootanimation.zip file there.

There will be a something caleed *.qmg file. I don't remember exactly the name. Which is the dwfault bootanimation file I guess.

Nothing similar to this was found.
Within the system/media I did find it, was first looking in the wrong spot. However it doesn't let me delete the file or rename it. How do I remove it?
You will need root to delete it.
First remount /system to a writeable state and then delete the file or rename it.
Some advertising:
You can use my app to do that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013063
Start the app, go settings check "Remount /system", restart my app, browse to /system and delete or rename the file.

You will have to use an app or adb. If you don't know how to change boot animations properly, then you should probably stick with an app - no offense. If you're using Root Explorer, select the "mount r/w" button at the top. When you're finished, mount r/o the same way. Otherwise, the app mentioned in the post above mine will work. Do you have a different boot animation to replace it with? If you want the boot animation that came with the rom, just reflash the rom over itself. Just wipe cache and dalvik (don't wipe data) and you'll be good to go.

Thanks for your work.
When I run the .bat, there is an issue with the first command and I get the message:
remount failed: Operation not permitted
It then runs through the rest of the process, chucking up errors here and there and ultimately, after a reboot, seems to have had no effect.
Any ideas? I have USB debugging enabled, the correct drivers, etc.

Hmm, it seems there is an issue with how my phone is rooted.
adb root returns 'adbd cannot run as root in production builds' and abd shell gives '$', but then su permission denied?
Phone is rooted though with Superuser installed and working, and TB, so not sure what is going on.

Maybe a dumb question, but is your system mounted before you try to run the batch file? If you're not sure, try adb remount and run the batch file again.
I remember having some similar weirdness back before Revolutionary when I tried to run the Easy Fr3vo OC/UV batch file package, but I hadn't mounted the system before I ran it.

CWM ON EVERY BOOT WITH GPS WORKING
What Is This??
This is a mod to achieve ClockWorkMod Recovery on Every reboot/boot with a fully functioning GPS. So far this is the only method to have CWM On boot without breaking GPS.This methos uses IBMc PowerBoost 2.0.
Things you will need:
1. Jrummy16's BusyBox Installer (download on market)
2. Download PB-2dot0_final.zip and place on sdcard
3. Terminal Emulator (download on market)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1. Reboot into CWM using Atrix Bootstrapper and
Step 2. flash PB-2dot0_final.zip and reboot
Step 3. Once rom loads up , uninstall AtrixBootstrapper or set permissions in SuperUser for it to "denied" (i would uninstall AtrixBootstrapper after quickly setting to deny,you wont need it)
Step 4. Download Jrummy16's Busybox Installer from market,open it,and click install. You want to install latest 1.19 Busybox over 1.17 that you probably have. looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 5. Open Terminal emulator and type the following one line at a time,hitting ENTER after each line is typed:
su
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
chmod 755 /system/xbin/powerboost
powerboost
now you should see this:
Step 6. It will ask you if you want it to install Jrummy16's BusyBox Installer,just type N for "No" and hit enter as we already installed this.
Step 7. Now it will Prompt you to select a number. type in 5. "CWR On Every Boot"
Step 8. After "Installation Complete" only takes about 2 seconds, you will type 8 for a Reboot,and type Y for yes.
Step 8. Enjoy!
If you like my work,hit the thanks button,if not,hit the back button : P
If you plan on using this in your projects all i ask is for you to simply credit me in your OP.

I assume it's because I'm not creating this script where it wants to go. Any advice or help? Thanks

I typed it just as it is, and even done it in adb shell with copy and paste, but it would never create the init.d folder or the 99cwr script. So I opened root explorer to see what was going on. The system was mounted as rw, but it just wouldn't create it. So I made the init.d folder myself and ran powerboost again and it created the 99cwr script, but still, normal bootup. I guess it needs to be called during boot or whatever, but idk where to set that. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks

Installation instructions for those of you that have root, but do not have TWRP. Busybox must be installed first.
1. Download the enclosed vrthemeADBversion zip and readme.txt for copying and pasting purposes.
2. Unzip the vrthemeADBversion zip to your sdcard. Rename folder to vrtheme
3. Put the readme.txt on your PC where you use adb.
4. Download appropriate NavBar Gone zip. Unzip and copy the system folder that is inside the vrtheme folder to the root of your sdcard.
5. On the root folder of your phone, find the data folder and create a folder inside it named tmp
6. Copy the vrtheme folder you earlier extracted to your sdcard to newly created data/tmp folder (/data/tmp/vrtheme)
7. On PC, with your phone connected and in file transfer mode, open CMD prompt and type "adb devices" without quotes. If your serial number comes up you can proceed.
8. Copy and paste the command lines from the readme.txt (include quotes)
adb shell su -c "mount -o rw,remount /system"
Hit enter
First time you will be promoted by SuperSU to give adb permission.
Copy and paste the second line in readme.txt
adb shell su -c sh /data/tmp/vrtheme/installtheme.sh
There is also a Mod installer zip. If on Windows operating system you can unzip it where adb is running and run the bat file instead of typing or copying and pasting the commands.
Wait until everything runs, after a pause of a few seconds your phone will reboot and your NavBar should be gone.

To those who want to use pie control or any other alternative without the interference of the stock navbar, they can flash this to get rid of the navbar

A 8.1 mod had been posted. If you are rooted but cannot run TWRP, there is an alternate method of installing this in the op.

Try flashing this AFTER the pixel mod is installed. I don't think anything is modded in the SystemUI.apk but icons and framework-res.apk but colors but I'm not sure. This should put a restore zip on your sdcard in a folder and zip called ozop.
