guys, my phone does not ring when someone calls, but its very random. i tested today, it did not ring when i called it, but when i tried again it rang. any solutions?
Some more details on kernel, rom, would be useful for members to repsond..

R u usin ringtone from sd?? set ringtone manually again..

Try altering your ringer volume in the setting and also try pressing volume up when it is ringing.
I tested on stock and kyrillos, but its the same. I will probably bring it to the service centre

instead of installing any software why not you to use power button, when the phone ring and you want to silent it then you just press the power button... thats it..

Or u can juss press the volume down button...itll go into silent n also there is a blacklist in settings too...

When I receive a phone call, when my phone is just laying around in lock screen, I can't hear the person on the other end of the line. I have to disconnect and call the person back or let the person call me back, and then it works.
It's pretty weird that the ringtone does work and anything else, but the sound of the call is lost. Or maybe there isn't even a connection? I just can't hear anyone or anything.
Is anybody experiencing the same problems? Or knows how to fix it?

Yes, same problem. Even when no apps installed.
Must be the sim or the phone itself.
I'm trying another Sim right now. But need enough calls to be sure.
I have the same problem on my NODO HD7..
The thing is that if i don't wake up with my alarm to stop it from ringing and just leave it there then my phone doesn't ring properly(yeah i don't want to wake up ).. Anw, I am making a restart and everything would be just fine!

That seems to be a completely other problem and known bug.
I have no sound problem at all accept for the sound of the other end of the line that disappears during certain calls.
Incoming Call Ringtone Flip to Mute and Hold to Silence
Flip to Mute
When you are receving a call, you could simply MUTE the call Ringtone by flipping the phone with the screen facing the table surface.
Hold to Silence
When you receive a call, if you hold the phone in your hand with the screen angled towards your face, the Ringtone volume decreases until you lift the call.

Edit: Ok , I take that back, I tried it on the phone, I received a call, put the phone face flat on the table. Nothing happened, I tried it again to the face, Nothing happened. XXKP9 here Think GOContact's messes with the Dialer or is this only compatible with stock Dialer?

Hold vol. down button to silence the phone, or stop the vibration for the current incoming call

you can install RD Mute from market for making the ringer stop upon flip.
this feature was worked on my phone with legendx theme for KPH of tripin , i just get one time FC error but later trip remove this apk on updates.

Yeah I put it face down on a desk when I try to use the functionality.
I'm assuming it should work with any media - youtube etc.?
Just testing it when other applications and it doesn't seem to work. It's strange because when I do the flip to mute "tutorial" in the settings it works fine.
I think it works with just the ringer on incoming calls. I just tested it by calling myself and the ringer indeed does mute when flipped over.

But if it's flipped and you receive a call - it still rings. I guess it just doesn't work the way I thought it did...
Same for me. I guess if you pick up the phone to see who it is, you can flip it over to silence the call.
I think mine does the same.. seems to work on anything but calls and notifications. Should be the opposite

Last time I checked it worked fine for me. I found out this morning that this also works on Stock Video player... Pauses the movie when you flip it over
For me ... flip to mute works only as an "action". you have to do the action for it to work...
you have to "flip it". not just be upside down.
The whole point for me was to be ringer off when upside down.
thats why i love these forums , learn something new everyday!!!! didn't even know i could flip to mute until now
Hello, I have a problem with my Nexus 5 (stock) ringtone and vibrate, I also had the same issue on my HTC One, which I had changed to Google Edition.
If someone calls the phone will ring and vibrate for about 1 second only and then it goes silent and stops vibrating, the call is still there ringing on the screen but just no sound or vibrate. This iv very annoying as I keep missing calls, can anyone please help with this issue.

Did you ever find a solution to this? My phone has started doing exactly this, and I don't really know how to even begin troubleshooting it.
Yes I did. It was a 3rd party app causing the problem. A call control app that lets you accept and block numbers.....
