Whats the hottest your Sensation(XE) gotten? - HTC Sensation

And how often?
Mine normally goes to around 42C and feels really hot hit 47 earlier on today and I was only playing flick soccer though I was on a hot underground..
Just curious to how many others phones get this hot when using it?

mine got 51 during a game of Sentinal 3

Mine gets up to 47 but currently in India n the weather affects my phone a lot if I use WiFi I get around 34 if I use mobile data my phone goes up to 47 tops like a pissin oven lol

Haha, its crazy how htc released this flagship phone with such heating problems

iphone 4s got a heating issues?

I have seen 57 degrees on mine. It was custom kernel problem. Still working w/o problems.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using Tapatalk

it doesnt matter if the phone gets hot
the most chipsets shuts itself down at 70-80 degrees that almost 90% then the max.
my phone was 1 day 60 degrees celcius when i was stress testing the cpu for 3H straight everyting is still fine

I regularly see mid 40s to upper 50s on mine no matter which kernel I use it seems, I've even seen low 60's occasionally. I don't play any games really, just browsing the web and such does it. Seems odd to me and I've wondered about it, but as I said, it seems to do it with any kernel I try.
~T.J.

Mine went to a dangerous 61 on stock battery & rom/kernel. Had to pull it out. Scared the *ish out of me.
But since then, gotten the Anker battery & no more soaring temps

Yes, bricked kernel improved a lot on my end as well. Maxing at 37c now. Before I regularly hit 42-45c.

[Q]Battery drain due to HW problem?

I serched the forum but didn't find an answer to this problem...
I'm having a serious battery drain issue with my sensation. I have latest italian BB by OTA update 3.31.401.5
Last night i had the phone with like 80% battery left. Today, 8 hrs later, i go wake up the phone and doesn't wake, and doesn't even boots up. I connect the charger and i have to wait a couple of minutes before it responds to power button.
First thing i do is go and see battery consumption stats, and it displays like 2h57m of use, and 88% of power drained by screen. Now, i know for sure the screen didn't light up for at least 1h before i could get to sleep, and i had used it before to install some apps, play a little cut the rope and fruit ninja and stuff, it had been disconnected for at least 2hrs before i got to bed.
I think it's pretty odd, and i guess it could be an HW problem.
The phone is unrooted and all stock

not likely, i bought a second original battery and shows the same problem
yesterday 30 mins of call drained 20% battery, light use drained the battery in 8 hrs, use i did was 30 mins of call, 20 mins of gaming (a little alchemy and 7 lvls of angry birds space), 6 messages, 1 email. Rest of the time screen off. wifi on for like 10 mins tops, mobile data always off.
Optimus 2x with this kind of usage did 2 days (40 hrs), this one 8 hrs? i refuse to believe it
Check for apps/services/processes running in the background.
This sort of battery drain is not normal so suggests you have an app that is using a lot of power

well i actually have not much of apps installed, and the only ones running in BG are media, google services, whatsapp, maps, touch imput.
Is it normal that with nearly no apps opened i have 309 MB of ram used?
Btw shouldn't be an app problem because i did an hard reset and the problem was still there
other info: the phone tends to get pretty warm. Not boiling hot but when it gets warm i.e. like after a phone call or a web browsing, it stays warm for like even half an hour later
back up your apps and data, reflash rom after complete wipe of all partitions, restore apps one by one and test battery life.

Why do you keep resisting taking it to VZW? It seems pretty clear from all the testing you've done that the problem is with the handset.

Bad battery life and heating issues

I have been getting pretty bad battery life. Starting at 60% battery I watch a YouTube video for 7 min and browse web for 2 min. Then my battery is at 40%. I am running cleanrom 2.4 btw with no dual core mod. Also after the 7 min of YouTube the portion right under the camera got really hot, even hotter than my atrix 4g. Is it just a bad flash? As I have heard some people that after relocking ruu then unlocking that battery issues have been fixed.

One thing to add, I am still on my first charge cycle after getting the phone. Should I run it dry first and see?

My phone runs hot when using GPS navigation after a few minutes...so hot that I turned off GPS for few minutes...so its probably a combination of both the ROM and the phone runs hot anyway under certain conditions (in my case anyways).
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I don't have GPS enabled nor autosync. But interestingly I rebooted and killed all apps in recent apps menu and watching video remained only the slightest bit warm, perhaps only warm because of.my hands. Hmmm, this leads me to believe that multitasking may have some memory leakage of some sort. As I did not run into this issue with previous android phones.

[POLL] Battery life

Hi guys, (& others)
I did a poll in order to inform people who doesn't have HTC One S, & also people who want to situate their HTC One S next to the other HTC.
So, have a good vote, & sorry for my bad English (If I have spoken evil )
Thank you. :good:
Best regards,
Less than half a day when I use it at my level of multitasking.
More than two days at ''normal'' people's level.
I charge twice a day but I am a heavy user and overclocked to 1.8ghz which means more drain on battery heavy use I get 4-5 hours that's intensive use 24/7 love the phone tho
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
I think that the battery life is very nice. I can get between 3-4 hours of screen time and 1-2 hours of talking in the cellphone.
I put the brightness of the screen to 30% in the house , and 50% outdoor.
But it's really depends of what you are doing.
There are many different vote, we can't know if we want an HTC One, S if he has got a good or a bad batterie life. It depend

I don't mean to be a troll but these battery posts are freaking stupid as no two people use the phone the exact same way. I hate how people compare stats it's so ridiculous. I know my phone is different but u guys don't know how I use it , u guys don't know my definition of heavy usage etc.

Techrader has a good review on the battery and their test results. They got 6.5 hours of using it at some max settings.
For example, one day, we took it off charge at 9am, browsed the net, sent a few tweets/emails and made about 40 minutes worth of calls. At 1pm, we fired up the FM Radio and Runkeeper Pro and went for a 90 minute run with the GPS on that whole time.
At 3pm, we were in the car with the HTC One S connected to the stereo via Bluetooth streaming music (and live radio thanks to the Car app which we'll mention in the next section) and using Google Maps Navigation for about 90 minutes again until the battery conked out at just after 4:30pm. Bear in mind, the screen was on for that whole 90 min period too!

I got mine on Monday and I firstly noticed that the battery seemed to be draining fairly quickly. I mean, 14 minutes in and it's at 83%. I decided to turn off all of the 'Location' settings and so far it seems to be going good, however I don't get any weather updates (and I like seeing the weather animations). I've also kept my brightness to just below 50%. I still haven't used it consistently for a whole day, so I don't know how it will go.

surely we should be able to apply.. but right now, we (dtrail actually) are trying to get the kernel stable and get the compile warnings reduced.. and maybe get ourselves a newer kernel.. then we will start trying to add more options..

Then I noticed it, quickly removed the charger, cooled it up under a fan. I was like ooh dude my phone is hot!

Hot Hot!
Usually the temperature of my phone is around 26-30C. But as soon as I start browsing or use any internet based app (like Facebook) with 3G, Bam! Temperature of the phone shoots beyond 42C.. I hardly takes 5 mins to move from 30C to 42C.
So I was just wondering if it's normal or something can be done to keep a check of temperature.
I'm using JB Leak 1:rooted in System 1 and Mokee 4.4.2 in System 3.
