ROOT FIX:
If you loose root, just open Superuser app from app drawer, hit menu, open preferences and update SU binaries, clear root permissions for all apps, reboot.

Installation Instructions
Totally new to ROMs? Read post #303.
1. It is required that you have a Froyo DK28 system with an EXT4 filesystem and ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.X before flashing this ROM. If you do not meet these prerequisites or do not know what these terms mean, read this thread before continuing. It will explain these terms as well as set up your phone with Froyo, EXT4 and CWM3 so you can flash this ROM.
2. Make a Nandroid Backup in ClockworkMod Recovery. DO NOT wipe your phone prior to flashing as this ROM will automatically backup and restore your data.
3. Download TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 and place it on your SD card.
4. Boot into Clockwork, navigate to the ROM zip and select it to flash. Your data will automatically be backed up, the ROM will flash, and then your data will be restored.
If you get any force closes upon boot due to conflicts from the backup restore, try going to Settings>Applications>Manage applications>All (at the top)>(app)>Clear data and Clear cache. If this doesn't work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the problem app(s).
When using WiFi Tether, the Sprint Hotspot will automatically start when tethering is activated. Don't touch the Sprint Hotspot or you will have problems. If you are having problems with the included version of WiFi Tether, update to the latest version (pre3 as of this writing).
To restore the power-button-end-call mod, go to Settings>Accessibility and check the bottom box.
New
TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 Clean Install - this version is for people who are having problems with the auto backup/restore or those who prefer starting with a clean slate. Wipe: factory reset, cache, dalvik cache three times each if using this version.

The removed apps can be found under Add-On Downloads in the first post. Sorry, can't help you with the quadrant score as I don't use benchmarking programs. I'm sure someone else can post a score though.

^ that's precisely why I didn't include one. Some people prefer Root Explorer, others ASTRO, others EStrongs, etc.
The ROM does have Setup Wizard set to optional, so if you have a file manager that you downloaded from the Market it will be automatically restored.
This has been the first ROM I've tried on any phone. It works great. I only have a couple of questions.
1. Is there a way to change the function of the power button? I've always used that to lock the screen (and hang up on every call I've placed since this ROM .. : )
2. I'm missing the visual voice mail. How can I get this or what is everyone else using..

Not sure i want the lockscreen mod... I'll see though.
As for the rest, i don't know how long it will be before these are ported over, so i may start porting them myself after i get the ROM uploaded.

Have you even tried his current rom Stocky-ish ?? It locks in on satellites really good with the fascinate gps files.

The modem's available in OTA... if you odin back to EC05 modem and then flash the EI22 modem update it should be good to go.
Now whether or not someone can create a .tar ball from this is still a waiting game... If it doesn't surface by tomorrow, I'll probably get on it.

I use STOCKY-ISH_ROM_v6.T1 before returning to the froyo firmware
and, I think it is "hardware problem" in my Epic GPS signal reception
* I compare with some other devices in the same location, and I am the worst epic in receiving satellite signals
until now i'm still looking for a solution for the my GPS problem

have you tried it on cm7? mine used to be horrible til i flashed that... after it locked 7/7
Can this be flashed over EH17? I'm currently on Hurricane 1.6 but this is looking awesome enough to try out.

I would agree, cm7 gave me the best lock, then I tried Stocky-ish the latest release with the fascinate gps files and locked 6 out of 8 which is good enough. On cm7 I did get 11 out of 11.

Music is working (FLAC).
The hotspot app isn't modded (already mentioned in a previous post).
The first boot took a little while, while the word "Android" flashed... give it a minute or two.
The screen rotate feature is so fast it's sexy. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! the 3 second rotate on other roms was killing me.
The camera app and Gallery works for both pics and video.
PEAP authentication is listed for wifi login which can be hit or miss depending on the ROM. THANKS! The WIFI connected instantly and works.
The GPS got a fix WITHOUT WIFI LOCATION HELP in under 20 seconds in Google Maps to within 20 meters. It centered in on the front of my house (which is where I am lol)
The compass works.
3 bars of cell signal (normal)
Update 3:
The lock screen looks right in landscape AND portrait mode. Haven't come across a ROM that can do both that I recall.
GTalk video chat WORKS!!! It bogs the phone down a bit, but nevertheless, it works!
The hardware keyboard is working flawlessly. No skipping of keys. Did you patch the keyboard, or is my typing just better than usual?
Bluetooth sync'd without issue... Didn't even ask for the "0000" password
Phone calls are improved over bluetooth (subjective, I know, but people were having a hard time hearing me on Froyo ROMs over bluetooth.)
No crashes yet, but I've only had it running for 20 minutes.

Google+ is pre-installed and works, but had an update in the market. Youtube did as well.
The speaker works.
I have to say... First impressions are VERY good. The one thing that's really sticking out here is the speed. There are no delays at all (save GTalk video) in anything I do on this phone. Thanks for all the hard work, Joshua! I'm going to hold on to this ROM for awhile to come I think.
Off topic, but I just realized that I joined in January of 2009, and this is my FIRST POST! WTH was I doing all this time?! I always login, but I guess I've just never been this excited about a ROM. :-/

God I love updates! I read that you want to remove CIQ in one of the first posts. Check the link in post 5. k0nane just got the package up. I'll flash it to see if it bricks the OS now.
Update 7:
The nociq patch installed correctly, and the phone is back up and running. I'm not sure what if any visual changes there are, but apps still work, I still have cell signal, and the only thing outside the normal is the black helicopter with the sprint logo hovering outside my window....I uhhhh gotta go... tell my family I love them!!!

Ok guys this rom is something that was in the plan for a long time and its finally done.
This rom is based off of HTC Runnymede 1.05.401.4 with Sense 3.5 and GB 2.3.5. This is the initial release and there will be future updates as needed.
Right now we haven't tested on all the devices, but we confirmed Vivo W, Inspire, and Incredible S are working.
A really big thanks goes out to Cappychimp and RC-Team for a lot of the added tweaks and multidevice zip, and to romanbb for the original tweaks.

same base... more tweaks, debloater, completely rebuilt ALL apks (with some cleaning and such), odex... which i like much more since it saves u from annoying dalvik cache that is made in deodex roms for system apps, faster (i promise...), diff kernel, diff ram tweaks, diff a lot...
visuals... stock sense 3.5 more or less... so in that part.. its pretty much same.

thanks for the quick "welcome"... i actually like the inspire much much better as far as smoothness and such.
and i might be moving to t-mobile soon (yes i know inspire is at&t... but we can hack phones by now can't we )
we'll see... maybe htc amaze will be the next phone... who knows... or ill stick with the inspire.

I did flash it seems real nice. But I was running the Kalagas mixed theme on runny 4.0 which I miss. I did try the theme on your Rom being the build was similar but got boot loop. Any chance we can get the Kalagas theme ported for this build ? Or are there any other themes you know of that will work with Mikrunny ? Rom is def nice though nice & snappy !

U know i thought i was in the wrong section when i saw mik, i was lije wait i just updated the evo a couple of days ago lol
To be honest i like the inspire it is faster n smoother than the evo but i miss the front facing cam, i got a mytouch 4g this summer n i get it like i get all my phones, cracked screen n i fix n sell but i fell in love w it, not too big or small but just right n loved the trackpad i miss having a dpad of some sort since the old windows mobile phobes so that was good, my cosin bought it from me n i didnt wana sell it lol but i traded for his inspire (which i got him a few months ago) but anyway in looking for another cheap one now, i sold the evo and inspire on ebay yesterday but they didnt pay yet so as soon as i get the $ im getting a mytouch 4g again. I thought the sensation n amaze were too long and no trackpad. Ill live w Edge on att w the mytouch to be honest i think its worth it. So yeah man ill be using ur rom for sure on either phone lol what sux is that until i get the mytouch o might be stuck w my iphone 4 lol 2 weeks on ebay n i cant sell that crap lol

Just loaded Odex version on inspire 4G. Getting Authorize HTC sense to access Facebook account message but it will not authorize. Keeps asking over and over again.
Rom seems smooth and loads fast. Can't get past this error. Have formatted twice with same results.

Well, Since I have bought my Nexus S I have pretty much disowned my Inspire so I boooted her up today and ventured in here to see what's been going on.
I've been away from the Inspire forum for a few months or so and I stumbled upon this gem!
WOW, I'm pretty speechless about this ROM build it's like I just bought a new phone!
Boot animation was sick, the intro was insane and all of the tweaks to my avail are just mind blowing. Now I don't even know how my call audio or GPS is doing but all I can say is WOW!
Everything else seems to be working great and like I said it's been awhile since I was last here, im sure I need to flash a radio or 2. lol

I have to agree, flashed the v1.0 - DeOdex, Fantastic rom, GPS locks quick, Smooth scrolling, Quadrant score is 1951, my only problem is HTC Facebook for Sense will not Authorize, bummer cause it pops up all the time. Any fix for this? read one in the Desire hd forum but I use this function.
To those having issues w the facebook for htc sense did u try to fix permissions in rom manager or recovery? I passed out before flashing this but ill try it later on as soon as i finish backing up

But unfortunately theres a bug that makes music playback mono in htc music player if any system sound happens: workaround mute those sounds, also you might switch on Vibrate for notification, and enjoy beats music that way.
- If you're having trouble with occasional screen blackouts, please consider trying to revert to a not so much undervolted kernel, and/or try this:
Download Android Terminal Emulator from market. Start it, and type (after rebooting, you must do this everytime.If it helps people with this problem, i'll include it in a new update soon):

- DON'T TRY 1080p or MMS size in Video recording please, it doesnt work, and after it will make exit the Camera app when you try to take picture. If you did, a Reboot will fix it
- If you want 'Unknown sources' to be settable in SystemSettings/Security, you must not have an Exchange account sync added. That's a bug in the htc rom it seems. Remove the account, set the 'Unknown sources' flag, and re-add your exchange account. Or if you are freshly set up, set this option, and add you Exchange acc only after that.

I found an odd bit. I entered my corporate exchange e-mail stuff just like always. It had me enter a pin for security like normal. Then it wouldn't let me go on and seems to demand that I encrypt the device. None of my other ROMs do this oddly enough. I flashed back to the AOSP nandroid and no such problem.
Thoughts?
EDIT: When I nandroided back to 1.0.1 and dumped the corporate e-mail acct and tossed the security settings to start that bit over. I was able to configure the corp exchange acct and set the PIN without it demanding encryption. I am confused why Sense is different.

Fun part of lock screen, when I woke up in the morning, it shows the weather, haha, instead of the icons!
I thought its a bug, but seems like it was notifying me of weather. After unlock and a new screen off/on it shows the icons again. Cool feature.

Well, they could. Just tell them that with another rom it will still be unencrypted, so there's really no point to keep that setting.. I know sysadmins are tough to reason with but who knows.

I love darned near everything about this ROM. I wonder if there is a way to disable encryption so Exchange doesn't enforce the policy. It might just be worth letting it encrypt...
Will that screw stuff up for future flashing, backup and nandroid? I have never messed with it before.

It won't work, just like the other user reported. I haven't looked at the encyption at all, I don't know what's missing for it to do an encryption...bins or a special recovery? No idea yet.
Another way could be to hack the part where it asks about that.
Dex2jar with jad and baksmali + smali could help to hack that, if someone would want to try.

Using the Aroma Installer
This is a quick guide to using the Aroma Installer since this highly customized version may be slightly different from what you have used before.
Looks complicated, but is super easy. And I think you will appreciate the ability to customize your set-up without having to re-install the ROM.
Enjoy!
Be sure to select your carrier!
Installation:
Nandroid backup
Factory reset in recovery if coming from a non-TouchWiz ROM (backup internal SD Card contents first)
Flash in recovery (button or touch)
Aroma installer should start within ~5 seconds
Choose a theme (if the colors look borked, go back and choose the theme again).
After agreeing to the disclaimer and viewing the changelog, Choose either:
Install or Update ROM - Installs ROM
or
Add or Remove Features - Allows you to add or remove apps, launchers, etc without re-installing the ROM.

Install or Update ROM:
Choose either:
Full Wipe - Clean install wipes system, cache, Dalvik, and app & system data (no media, etc).
or
Update Wipe - Wipes system, cache, Dalvik (for current CSROM users only)
Choose desired options.
If you don't choose a launcher, the TW launcher will be installed.
If you install both AOSP and Samsung email you will get repeated FC's.
You can install both launchers and decide which one to use after boot.

Add or Remove Features:
Be sure to select everything you want included in the ROM, even if it is already installed on your device.
If any given item is not selected, it will either not be installed, or deleted if it is already installed.

Additional Info
If at any point Aroma hangs, hold the power button until device reboots recovery (10-15 seconds).
If install completes and you get a "Status 0" error after pressing "Reboot" in Aroma, just reboot the device.

Question. Is the kernel going to need to be flashed separately or is it working ok with the kernel in already ..I ask as I know ports can interfere with bases via carrier differences. I know the radio doesn't matter. As it has to be flashed separately via Odin ota or rec. Thank you for your port and hard work btw...

The ROM has the stock kernel. I can't speak to how it will work on your device since this is my first VZW port.
I read a few other threads from GSM device ports, and the only issue might be MMS. But that seems to be hit or miss.
Hopefully you can tell me!
You got a nice rom bro. I flashed and followed to a t. All was gold but no data on boot. However I did not go int o settings and toggle. Reason is usually it doesn't help on port but should it be modem? Possibly is but I doubt it. Anyway ill flash again and play with settings. I restored stock backup !! Always nice to see data on boot when reverting from a scare lol. But I knew it would. So that's all I have for now. Ill work on it second flash tomorrow. Thank you for your work. I also wiped again after booting and rebooted to same. Wifi comes up when signing in of course. Please stay with it. Its a beautiful rom!!!!!!!!!!

It shouldn't be the modem.
No data, or no signal icon showing on the status bar?
I read on another thread that the 3G icon doesn't display properly sometimes.

hello, love the rom. i am probably the biggest fan of scottsroms and have relied on cleanrom for quite awhile....every so often i backup everything and try out something new for a few days and always end up back there =) this rom has all of the UI fun little options i enjoy though. however when i benchmark this sucker...no matter what kernel i seem to use i get about 1180 on quadrant!!!! anyone else getting this result? *note* i am using the circles widget for the first time...not sure but something tells me that might have something to do with it???

There is nothing different about the ROM that should cause low benchmark scores.
Hopefully some more users will try the ROM and we can start to figure some things out.
I tried the ROM and I didn't have a phone number or any data, and the mobile settings were set up correctly. Any ideas? I really wanted to use it.

I made some changes to the build.prop.
Flash this and see if it helps.

Same here no mobile data. Last digit on iemi was missing but some other ROMs this doesn't effect anything not sure here. Really nice layout probably something easy to fix with data. There is a bunch of the mobile data missing when you open it. Etc no network mode no signal strength, access points. Maybe that can guide you.

I have mobile data but 1x maybe under 1 mb/sec with no icons. My imei is normal. GPS locks. Flashed a different status bar now i have 3g icon only 1mbps DL speed . I'm not sure data is that great in my area so ill give it a go later to check it out. From checking against other ROM it should be OK.

Sorry brother last night I was up late and saw your ROM and had to flash. I normally dive in and find glitches or what not to send dev. But as I said I was late for bed so I flashed and quickly reverted but when I get home around 8pm I will look further as well as try to help in any way from APN to to simple toggling. Thanks again as this is nice addition to our forum. Keep it up bro! Peace...
