[Q] Battery performance of ARHD4.1.x - HTC Sensation

This is my battery performance using ARHD4.1.7 on Htc Sensation. Faux kernel. On standby. Intellimand setting 192M, 1.51G. Data connection off most of the time, just GSM 2G. It is using on average 2% per hour, not good. Also I am using extended battery with specs 2430mAH(I doubt it, more like 1900mAH).Anybody got a better result than this?

What battery app is that?

It is called Battery Monitor Widget, availible in the android-market.

Here is mine.
Stock Battery, not using any 3G Internet, only wifi.
wifi running stats was 4h 29m. display - 1h 30m.
I think it's poor performance will do proper battery stats wipe today and post results after

I think your battery is fake it should be less than 1950mah.

Ok, even though I JUST downloaded it, that battery monitor widget app is AWESOME! It is EXACTLY what I've been looking for, even since my Vibrant days! It basically tells you EVERYTHING you want to know about your battery. Or MULTIPLE batteries! I can't wait to figure out everything this app can do! Download it. Now.

Will try to calibrate battery and then do another measurement.

How do you calibrate the battery ?

It has instructions in the app.

A better performance

What did you do to get such a drastic difference in your battery performance? Just the calibration??

Do a full charge, wipe battery stats, drain battery to less than 10%, then full charge again.

Thanks! I will give it a shot.

Battery performance of AHRD4.1.10 after first battery calibration cycle. Moderate usage with data connection always on(wifi or 3g). I use the phone to read this forum, web browsing and took some pictures. Power mode = high performance, sleep mode = auto.

I could tell you haven't used the phone for a while before actually using it in the graph you could see the axis are steady straight and then once you started, they started dropping. Battery life GREATLY depends on your location (signal strength) and how you use your phone, no phone usage is the same, as well as brightness even if auto brightness is enabled, I might be in an dark room while your outside, you'll consume more battery life.

I'm sure most people have seen my results.
That's on CyanogenMod 7.0.2 with the LorDmod 4.4.2 VrIO kernel and Pinky Ultra Undervolt script. I've used CM7.0.3 and GingerBeast with various other LorDmod kernels and gotten very similar results, typically give or take a few hours.
Battery graphs without details are pretty pointless. Not hard to get a couple days out of it if you never use the phone.

No point in using wifi, I have GPS turned off as well. Minimal screen usage is my average usage but really, if someone can't figure out that a massive screen is the biggest battery hog on this thing then they should return it.
Can't screenshot ATM, but I have 91 percent battery remaining after 2 hrs and 50 mins. I have used the phone for texting all day so far (~80 messages while on battery) and my screen is consuming 74% of my battery, though nothing else is really running in the background. SetCPU 1017/245 with smartass governor is currently keeping my undervolted when asleep. My ROM is Inspired Ace by gtg465x running the latest stock ATT radio (Ace_Cingular_US_1.84.502.11-Radio-26_06_06 _30_M). I just ran the battery calibration listed here and am still working on eliminating the cpu intense processes as described.

LOL!!! Wow that is some awesome battery life you're getting on your GingerBeast ROM.
I think what dilli is trying to tell us is these types of threads have minimal value. Everyone uses their phone differently and the battery life is impacted greatly by this. If Joe Blow gets 3 days battery life out of SuperDuper v3.0 ROM paired up with the BestBatteryEver v2.5 kernel doesn't mean I will get anywhere near the same results.

If you turn off your wifi and screen, Then its just similar to keeping your PC on sleep mode.
At the end of the day, battery should last through the day if you dont have a charger within reach. Again depends on usage.

The display on my inspire is what murders my battery. I mean seriously, if it is pulling 70%+ of your total battery usage, how much life can you expect with screen on for games, videos, browsing, etc. 9 hrs and 5 mins and 76% left. I have my phone locked to 2g networks when not using data, btw. that seemed to help. screen has been on roughly 30% of this time as I lock when not in use (between texts, as I text my gf all day usually )
I bet most of the folks here didn't use a Captivate by any chance... Use it, and u'll love the battery here.

Yeah, I've been getting erratic battery behavior with mine. I don't have it rooted or anything but there will be days where the phone will be idol for 4 hours during work, and it'll be down to 60%.
I always keep the wifi off and syncing off too.
With all syncs on.WiFi on average use(20-30 mins Facebook per day, 10-20 emails, 10-20 text, a few calls, etc.)

Battery life!

How can i increase the battery life!? My battery drains really fast with light web use and listening to music, is there an app that can save me some battery usage or one that calibrate the battery?

You could install a custom rom, which makes your Sensation faster, and makes the battery much better!
There is plenty to choose from.
I've got battery drain issues running CM 7 Alpha 7. How can I see what app is eating my battery? Both Settings>About Phone>Battery info and Spare parts under the Partial Wake selection show android system.
Is there any other way to see battery usage by specific app? Am I looking in the right area in Spare Parts?

You could download one of those task manager's or auto kill memory. But I don't got any experience about that.
And when you flashed, did you do full wipe and all that it said in the instructions ?

I did im running Android Revolution HD 3.6.1 with stock kernel and for some reason the battery still drains!
It may not be the answer you are expecting, but the most effective route to better battery life is to buy a bigger battery. I bought the Anker battery and never looked back - it is massively better than the stock battery.
Look at the specs and power of this phone... Its more powerful than the avg pc 5 years ago. Arhd has givin me 20 hr cycles and i think that is amazing compared to a stock rom

And also my battery is reading wrong it shows wrong % like when i reach about 25% all of a sudden either it shuts down either it indicates 1% remaining ? Saw quite alot of threads on this but couldn't find a fix...

The sudden discharge of the battery could possibly indicate A issue with the battery itself. If it's new I would defiantly ask the seller for a replacement. I have Anker myself And It's never discharged like that before. I'd look into trying a replacement and see if that helps your issue! Best of luck.hopefully a new battery will fix the problem.

i used AOKP rom before and it has battery drain problem, maybe that causes the problem?
AOKP link
try with other ROM and see?
AOKP does cause more battery drain in my opinion but the battery dropping percentage so drastically or discharging isn't normal. I would defiantly look into getting a replacement battery. Anker has been a good battery for me. They should honor the return and if its new, replace it. Best of luck

you probably just have a defective battery, from the pics and what youre telling us (happens on every rom). what mAh do you get on a full charge? I have an Anker as well and it doesnt drain quite as fast as yours, even when I was on AOKP I would get around 13-14 hours light/moderate use. try another battery or see if you can get a replacement Anker from the seller you got it from. but from my experience, the Sensation in general doesnt have great battery life. my MT4G on the other hand...I could easily see 20+ hours
I´ve bougth a new Anker and used it until my Sensation turned off.
No Calibration, because it is crap to do it manually and just make it worst!
Then full charge it (better while Sensa is turned off) and you will reach about a day and 5 or 6 hours on moderate usage (2-3hours screen on).
After 4-5 charge cycles you´ll get about 1 day and 17 hours.
If not, you should listen to the others above and send it back.
Hey,
How good is the Anker battery compared to stock battery? Does it really last 25% longer?
Well it's definitely better then stock however I remember I used to reach the 3h mark screen on time, but if you guys talking about stanby it's okay I guess I can get up to 16-22 hours

Also, some of the forums suggest you recalibrate your battery when you flash a new rom... It wipes the battery stats and starts from ground zero. The app is in the play store Battery Calibration. Just charge to 100% and run this app it will do the rest. Don't think that is your problem, but it will give you accurate stats about your battery...
Here is the thread for the Instigator Kernel. If you flash you phone on a nightly basis, you will have to reflash this each time you update on a nightly...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721235
Another good program to run is CPU spy like I said. It will show you what your CPU's are spending all their time on. Once you get the new kernel flashed, just run that program. You should see more time being spent at the 192 Mhz range or the deep sleep when the phone is on stand-by...

But do whatcha want...

Yes I am rooted. I noticed the battery draining faster after I flashed Google Wallet. I am stock rooted though. I turn off NFC when I don't need it, and the app doesn't sync often.
I'm not in a 4G area, but that has never drained my battery before. I can't imagine Wallet would be draining my battery..
I should also note that my brightness is set to full at all times. What's of interest to me is the fact that it isn't draining so much when the screen is on, it's when the screen is off is when it drains the most it seems. I'll leave the phone off for at least 20 minutes and when I turn it back on it'll have lost a few points.
Can't seem to figure it out. Like I said, it seems like I started noticing the battery draining quicker after I installed Google Wallet.

Here's an update from better battery stats
For some reason I can't figure out how to stop the top app. I've disabled all I could think of with maps. The only other change I've made is installing Google Now, but this started before that.
