Why is it that I always get FC message every time I start up my Nexus S or opening Android Market which makes Market inaccessible. The start up message would show something like android.media has stopped unexpectedly. Only on Oxygen ROM, 2.3.2 and 2.3.3 (newest).
I've done wiping data, cache and even dalvik cache.
I've tried on different ROM and it works flawlessly. Oxygen is my only problem so is there any solution?
Did you try fixing permissions in recovery?

Welcome to XDA!
I have never had this problem. Do you only get this FC when opening market, or other apps? You should try to repair permissions.
Thanks .
Yes, I forgot to mention I did the permission fix through CWM and it did not fix. Am I supposed to fix it before flashing?

Is anyone else experiencing market issues after updating firmware to 4.0.3? I can see my apps and search etc fine but when I try to download an app it says:
"... could not be downloaded because due to an error. (-101)"
I tried flashing the 4.0.1 firmware since market was working on it, but i still get the same issue.
I also tried clearing market cache and date, force closing it, and nothing works. I also tried reinstalling market and still same issue.
Anybody has an idea what the problem is and how to fix it?
Try clearing the cache and dalvik in recovery. also what i would do is go into cwm first reflash and then fix permissions then clear those things.

im having the same issue im running the newest elegancia rom everything is running fine except this issue with the market ..................NEED SOME HELP HERE
The problem went away for me last night but now all of sudden I'm getting the same error... then it went away again.
I can't really figure out how it went away... I did restore a nandroid backup yesterday before the problem went away, but I don't think that's what fixed it since I had tried that before...
Market Problems - Solution
I was having the exact same issues. I was running MIUI.us 1.12.23. I went online and found 1.12.30. Once I upgraded my problem was gone.
However, the new firmware is still eating up my battery!

I was having the same problems after 4.0.3 RUU install (rooted).
I cleared the market data and cache and UNINSTALLED MARKET UPDATE rebooted my device and everything was fine!
I'm having this problem where sometimes after I reboot my G2x (running HellFire Phoenix V2.1 with the kernel already included) it would start back up with the "Touch Android to begin" screen as if I just did a fresh install and then nearly all my applications would start Force Closing on me.
I'm not sure what is causing this. My applications that we're previously installed all force close when I try to open it, and the Play Store is back to Market. My saved Google account is erased as well. Any ideas? It's beginning to get very annoying to have to wipe my phone and reinstall everything all over again.

have you tried actually going in and wiping /data and /cache before re-flashing the rom to see if it helps? if not, try that.
if its only happening to you on that rom, try flashing another.
if none of this works for you, then use This tool.

I always use the Nullifier application before installing the rom, yet I'm still having this weird problem. I'm going try that other wiping method and see how it goes. Thank you !
Downloads of gapps/ROM might be at fault also. If wiping doesn't solve it for you then you should re-download them.

Had anyone got this error before? Is there a fix? I got 7gb left of internal storage so this shouldn't be happening.

You don't need to bump your post every hour because you haven't gotten an answer yet. Not everyone is on at the same time.
Far as a solution:
First, have you cleared the cache and data for the market app and you still get the same error?
Are you running a ROM - If so, did you dirty flash(just wipe cache and flash the zip) or did you do a full wipe?(factory reset + Davlik cache)
If not running a ROM try to clear your cache anyways via CWM or TWRP see if that helps.

I did everything except clear cache for market. How do i do that?
Go to 'Manage Apps' in settings then click the market. There you'll see four options; force stop, uninstall, clear data, clear cache. Clear the data and the cache. This will make you agree to the TOS again but may solve your problem.

try reinstalling rom and rewiping everything again?
Do you have a directory called "LOST.DIR" on your sdcard that's ridiculously big? If you do, you can delete it - it's essentially the 'Recycle Bin' of Linux.
Also, try removing ALL your google accounts from the phone then clearing the market cache like mentioned above and then add your google accounts back. This is a fix for a different market problem but may work on this one as well.

tried it no success
I'm out of ideas then. Re-flash your ROM after doing a full wipe see if that fixes it. If not try a different or stock ROM.

Alright went to a backup i had of this rom and everything seems to be fine now, i installed KT Kernel last night and then today i had the problem. Do you think the kernel had something to do with it?
Everytime I wipe cache and Dalvik cache, after reboot, the android is upgrading progress is almost immediate, then I get "Unfortunately, Update Device has stopped".
So I restored a backup from a week ago. Now, none of my play store apps will update. Tried to install a new app still no luck. Tried installing an apk also no luck.
Any suggestions?

Unless using greenify is considered as freezing, no. It should work fine.
I'm running CM11, Android version 4.4.4, but have had this problem since installing Cyanogenmod.
Main issues are these:
1) Freezes while processing 50% of the time. Mostly the filter-processed image is already saved in the gallery, and I can see it there after I kill the app
2) Video upload always failed.
3) Whenever I switch apps, Instagram "unfortunately stops". This issue is common with the Camera app as well.
Funnily enough, I had similar problems with Instagram on my previous phone, although it was an HTC.
But I haven't seen any such problems reported on my ROM's development thread.
Can someone at least point in the direction of what could be the issue and where to start troubleshooting?
Go recorvery and try fix permissions, wipe dalvik and wipe cashe options

There is no more "fix permission" option in newer CWM, apparently because it's not necessary anymore. Wiping the cache helps the crashing issue for a while, but videos still can't be uploaded.
Did u wipe data/cashe/dalvik before u flashed cm? If not, that can be problem. And did u come from Stock or other custom rom?
Hello.
