I was just sent a system update notification. It says it includes new enhancements and an important security update for my T-Mobile myTouch 4g Slide..... Does anyone know what this really entails....?

There is a thread discussing this. Tl;dr: don't install it if you're already rooted.

Edit: found it... Wtf.. How come I barely got this update almost a month later than everyone else?

Not sure. But undead had a fix same day bug was found. Not to mention it removes the logger as well. Htc s came out a month later.
if you have titaniumbackup you can freeze the updater and never get a update notification again.

[Q] NS4G Any way to fix horrible reception?

I did search the forums.. I know this is an ongoing and well known issue with the phone. But as of 11/16/2011 are there any new radio/kernels/etc that can help? The reception is way worse than my old Evo and my wife's Epic in the same locations. Lots of time the phone just behaves bad because it can't obtain a signal. There may be not be a software solution, it is just such a shame because the phone is 90% awesome. Any new developements?

Maybe you have a defective phone. With the same radio you are using I get as good or better receptions than the 2 evos in the house.

Thanks for the data point! I was wondering it was my handset...
Maybe when ICS come out, I will unroot, revert to stock, go to Sprint store and complain, and maybe they will swap my handset.

I don't use rom manager but I've seen mentions that the official build bot is down so as far as what's been compiled, that could be correct.

Help me read this pull down menu How to. (help the dummy).

Okay... Been looking and searching but no luck.
I can't read the pull down notification menu. An I can not for the life of me figure out what I did made it that way.
PixelRom 1.60 lite touch with Apex launcher on top. not much else. There is no Rom/Kernel (only as is came with PixelRom.)
Hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance.

no one has any idea???
Is it only certain apps that show that way? Or is it always in that alternating pattern? If it's certain apps, an app can make the notification show up differently. If it's always alternating like that, then I would guess that you flashed something over your rom like a theme or mod, or you flashed the rom without wiping. Flashing anything onto a rom that isn't compatible will cause all sorts of anomalies.

Strange notification screen

My notification screen looks very strange since a couple of days. I don't know what I change or if it has to do something with an app.
Maybe somebody here can tell me what it is....

flash whatever rom you on again (clean flash of course) and add your stuff n tweaks back bit by bit and watch the notifications to see whats causing it
Have you deleted anything lately from root folder? Or applied a theme?
I have stock ROM rooted with only battery % mod.....it never occurred to me that that could be the problem. I'll try and flash stock ROM later today....
Thanks
I've seen this before in a thread here but no idea how to search for it

Ya I noticed this after an app update from OP on the play store. It's really dumb and annoying and I can't figure out how to turn it off
It's not related to the unlock though
I actually like it. I first used it on my S20 Ultra. Only for one bot, the BestBuy Deal of the day Bot. I was pretty stoked when my new OP8 had it actually. Yeah, I am probably the only on XDA that would use it but hey, it works me.
I noted something now that you brought this up. I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile. AT&T has a lot more providers than T-Mo!
