so i flashed gummy 2.0 rc 2 last night was on wifi this morning so i left the house no data 3 or 4g restarted phone didn't work cleared cache etc.. nothing worked so i went to the humble 5 via odin removed sim flashed, shutdown inserted sim card and rebooted still no data wiped cache etc.. once again nothing i am wondering if there is a way to tell if my sim is fried or not...
My advice would be to Odin back to stock ee4 and take it in to a store to see if it is fried

that's found on rootzwiki.com right?
I found it on XDA its a full Odin with the radios and everything. It is essentially the factory firmware

can you link that over to me please..

here ya go. i believe the only way they could tell if you rooted is if they see the voodoo logs in your SD card...but i dont think they would go to your sd card for a service issue.
sweet i am assuming i just go to download mode put this thing in odin check the 2 normal ones f reset auto reboot start and done just like i would flash humble 5 or 4 etc..
Yeah I've just flashed this rom like any other...since you are going gingerbread to froyo I would wipe data before entering download mode to flash

will do will report back when i get back from verizon. thought just crossed my mind maybe it is a radio issue?? also verizon said there was a nationwide 4g outage but i am not getting any 3g so yeah..
I was just gonna ask you. Have you tried flashing some fresh radios?
Sent from my Gummy Charged GBE 2.1 using XDA App
never flashed a radio but i worked fine until today so doesn't make sense why that would be the problem..
Ahh I see. You said your on humble 5 at the moment correct?
Sent from my Gummy Charged GBE 2.1 using XDA App
Well I would say you should flash the stock ee4 and boot it up and wait a little. Since you would Be flashing the ee4 radio with the Odin it could fix the issue,if not, take it to verizon

Don't bother flashing. It's your SIM. I had the same thing happen 2 weeks ago, I thought it was an outage. I was on PBJT, rooted, voodoo, etc. I flashed back completely to stock. Nothing worked. If you have "Android System Info" installed, you can look at the radio log and see something like "Channel 1 = ?, Channel 2 = ?" popping up over and over. Go get a SIM and don't waste your time.
This is where I posted before. There are other people on the forums saying their phones are frying SIM cards, one of them in the "If your droid is dropping data" thread.
give it 24 hours, if you have absolutely zero data after that its the sim, take the phone to verizon (preferably with stock firmware as they will be handling/rebooting/etc. the phone and may ask questions) and they should replace it for free no problem
ha wish i read this earlier but i went back to stock took it to verizon and they told me there is a outage nationwide for all 4g devices even if i switched the sim they couldn't activated it now i am stuck at stock with no data freaking great arg.....

No matter what ROM/Kernel I flash to i loose my WIFI access. When I go into settings/Wifi it just says ERROR. Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
With CM7.0.3.1, I have been using bcblends tinyrcu (available through kernel manager) and leave min/max as is (806max/245min) make sure you wipe cache/dalvik before installing the kernel...
Hope this works for you.

SD card should be mounted. It's only unmounted when I plug my phone to the computer to transfer files and such...
Same thing happens to me with kernels. Sometimes Wimax too. I'm using mik shift, works fine with stock kernel.

I have a regular evo with this same problem, tried 3 dif kernals, and upteen romflashes.... still have wifi error in settings
still no progress on this, i still have this problem... super gay
I too am getting an "Error" when trying to turn wifi, Logcat says " Wifi Driver missing" have tried rebooting, and flashing another rom. any help?
Well it's probably been said before, but here goes When you flash a new Rom make sure you do a FULL wipe. It's seems trivial, but not doing this can and usually does cause all kinds off issues. Also, you should check your WiFi settings, and make sure they're correct.
Full wipe has been done and what wifi settings are you talking about? phone settings can't be accessed because the phone can't turn wifi "on". is it possible to extract the wifi driver from another shift? i have another one at my disposal. BTW wifi was working a day ago no problem. i havn't flashed a new ROM in months and was on a stock rooted rom.
Have you tried to ruu back to stock to see if you have the same issue? Or nandroid back to a version where it worked?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
yea ruu'd back to froyo, re-rooted and reinstalled updated radios, and am back to gb. any idea where the wifi drivers would be? thanks for the replies.
Have you just tried it from a stock froyo rom? RUU back to 2.2 and just try it from there. It should reflash all the proper radios. Maybe the wifi chip is defective in the phone too. It happened at work to a co-workers playbook.

+1 on that. Also if it was working then not. Something else might be up, are other devices able to connect to that WiFi spot with no issues? It is possible to extract the wifi driver from another SHift. But if you just RUU back to stock it should work. If not somethingelse is definately wrong. To get to the settings: Menu-Settings-Wireless & Networks-Wi-Fi settings-menu-Avanced.
yea went ruu'd back to stock, no dice. wifi just says "error" after "turning on", must be an internal problem. other devices work fine on this point. what would be the steps to extracting the driver from another shift, i have one ready to go.
If you RUU'd back to stock, and it's a still no good. Then you might want to consider getting a replacement if WiFi is really important to you. Especially if you know for sure that other devices can connect, and you cannot on a stock Rom. But you do risk getting an updated Shift. Not a risk worth taking in my eyes. Did you make sure and check all the settings?
Yea all the settings are good, it definitely seems to be an internal problem at this point. I'm weighing the options right now and came close to ruu'ing to gb to see if it solved the problem, but I just couldn't give up root.
only 2 things come to mind on what caused this, i attempted to update to the newest ota htc update over the stock rom, ( i know stupid, got the android + !) and i installed an app to transfer files over wifi.
Wifi isn't too important but I hate the feeling of not having my phone %100.
Same problem here. I just got a wifi-error running the latest shift-deck. The phone was brand new with a bad esn (planning to flash to a different carrier) and was first turned on 8/2/11. so basically 2 weeks turned on. This just happened 2 days ago. Cleared everything and flashed again. Don't know how to RUU or what it is. Anyone want to explain?
Ruu basically puts the phone back as if it were just out of the box. There is a thread somewhere here with the file. Just make sure you get the froyo version, otherwise you won't be able to root.

When i picked up my charge i also got the desk cradle with the extra battery. Yesterday at work i was listening to music and drained the battery pretty quickly so i swapped in the extra battery. Once i rebooted i started getting a bunch of FC's. I'm getting ones for Google Services Framework, messaging, android.processes.acore and one or two others i can't remember. I reflashed GC and still get the errors. Anyone have any idea why this would happen after swapping batteries and how to fix this?
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
It just happens sometimes. Ill have to do this once every 3 months or so. Hope you made a backup...If you have the EXT4 formatter saved then just mount all in CWM, wipe all user data, dalvik, cache, etc. Then run EXT4 formatter, then flash GC. If you don't have it, you have to restock with the EE4 Odin and PIT, then reflash GC.

Happened to me a week or so ago, huge pain because I hadn't backed up in a while but it took me about a day or two to get all my apps back in order. In all honesty though it was one of the most annoying things that could happen. Had to redownload a ton of my apps and all the apps I had backed up were outdated(like ColorNote, I lost like 4 notes because it was an old backup). Happened totally out of the blue, I just rebooted the phone because apps weren't installing and I got spammed with FCloses. Not even a factory reset/cache/Dalvcache worked I had to flash the .pit/ee4factory.md5 to get my phone working again. PAIN IN TEH ASH.
Well son of a batch of cookies. That was my last resort but i suppose i will give that a shot this evening and report back to ya.

I finally got around to restoring my phone using the EE4 ODIN. I had no idea it was going to take over an hour to do, lol. Anyway, the flash completed and passed so I unplugged the USB cable, pulled the battery, but now I can't get the phone to turn on. Is there something else that I screwed up?

It should have not taken an hour. If you flashed without the battery try flashing again with the battery in.
Also make sure you are using the PDA button.. not phone. Flash will show pass if you use phone but it will not boot.

I dont know if you were rooted and on a rom already but for future ref., when this happened to me I just went into CWR, fixed permissions, wiped cache and dalvik, rebooted and bam the FClosing stopped. my wifes phone on the other hand I had to just go into CWR and flash the rom over again and it cleared the problem rather than going through ODIN.

I was rooted and running GC 1.9.1. I went into CWR and tried wiping just the cache and dalvik as well as flashing the rom again and I couldn't get the FC's to stop. Thanks for the info, I'll keep this in mind next time this happens.
I was on GC 1.9 when my mega galore of FC's started happening too, my end result was a replacement phone from Verizon... I really don't know what happened or why. It just randomly happened under normal use.
Wow, that kinda sucks. They didn't say anything about the phone being rooted? They gave me hell for trading my rooted D2G for my charge.

No because I flashed a bone stock ED1 with no root and nothing at all on the phone, I even had a blank 2GB SD Card in it.
Same happened to me. Yesterday I just clicked on camera and got a force close, then froze. Pulled battery, then everything was force closing. Only thing that would function was browser. Flashed everything, wiped data, you name it. Nothing has worked for me.

It depends on the level of data corruption I suppose. As an aside, roms should really be released with journaling enable or at least have that option. The slight speed increase is not worth the hassle IMO.

When it happened to me one the first things I tried was wiping cache and nothing worked. If you follow kv's advice and that doesn't work then the only other method would be to odin back to stock and start fresh. I did have one fc for android.processes.acore but I can't remember what I did to cause or replicate it. The only thing I'm having trouble with now that I rerooted the phone is that I cannot get back into CWR. I flashed the latest version and was able to get in to flash gc and everything else but now when I try to get in it locks up on the samsung logo.
EDIT: I wasn't able to get past the Samsung logo no matter what I tried. I ended up having to odin back and start fresh....again.

So i recently had to flash the ep4d radio on my phone and i took the Odin file. It flashed fine and i used the phone for a couple of days with some problems. 4g was dropping randomly and not coming back. It instantly switched to 3g without loss of connection and just stayed there. Also, it took pretty long to turn on data with juice defender (those of you who use it will know what I'm talking about). Having used the OTA, this was not normal.
I flashed it again thinking it was a bad flash. Again i got the same problems. But then i decided to try the ee4 modems and the CWM modern patcher from the OTA. Now the radio is working perfectly.
TL;DR: Is anyone having problems with data using ep4d radios via the Odin flash as opposed to the CWM upgrade flash?

no issues and I've used both (I've tried every radio combo with EP4D after I had a sim replaced a while ago to see which modems had the best performance).. I wanna say its juice defender, battery saver apps and 'tweaks' to make your phone 'faster' are garbage IMO

Hey running the current version of MOAR and on Sunday night I pulled my SIM and put it in my Galaxy Nexus to make a call, text and go online to verify everything was working since I sold it. When I put it back in my GS3 I was only able to get 3G service. Didn't think much of it but Monday I couldn't get 4G to kick in. I did a complete wipe and reloaded MOAR, pulled and reinserted the SIM, reflashed the latest firmware and when I reboot my access point goes to EHRPD. I select LTE and it gives me looking for LTE/CDMA with an Ok/Cancel pop up but it never kicks in to 4G. I also tried the reset to default in the access points menu and still no luck. Any idea's?

Guys I've tried searching and tried damn near anything I can think of/find here on XDA and other sites.
Over the weekend I got a little sick of my GPS not locking on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I535. I was running CleanRom 7 and I believe I was on MB1 - I could be wrong on the basebad that I was on.
Anyways, after doing my normal reading to see what the latest and greatest things going on are I decided I wanted to do a complete wipe like I'd done in the past, update to MF1 firmware, update my radio to ML1, then put a fresh install of CleamRom 7 on there.
So I used to did a format of my external SD then a factory wipe/reset & cache wipe in CWR. I then went directly into Odin mode (Home Button/Volume Down/Power) and flashed the root66_VZW_I535VRBMA2.7z from this thread. I installed EzUnlocker and RomManager. I unlocked the phone, then flashed CWR. I first did a factory wipe/reset, I then flashed the MF1 firmware, followed by the ML1 radio, and finally Clean Rom 7.
Everything was fine except my 4G LTE would not turn on - 3G works fine but no 4G LTE. I've tried everything I could possibly think of. I've flashed to the prerooted MA2 linked above in Odin. I've tried the 2-3 suggestions in this thread, I've tried making my own APN settings, I've tried the thread which has links for people who are returning their phone to Verizon (plain jane stock). Nothing. All of those bring me the same result: Everything works perfectly fine, but the 4G LTE never shows up. It doesn't matter where I am - I know it is not a network outtage as people in the office have no issues and I always have a connection here and at home.
I've already ordered a new SIM card which should show up tomorrow but did I miss anything? I tried everything I could think of. As of right now I'm back at square one where I'd gone back to MA2, flashed MF1 + ML2 firmware, and back on Clean Rom 7. Stuck with 3G. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Just Odin flashed the VRALG1 4.0 ICS to bring it back to stock found here in Section 5: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709. Still no luck.
Am I correct in saying when flashing that it is also flashing the modem/firmware? I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
I had the same problem not too long ago. My issue was the PRL usually 4G PRL starts with 15xxx but if you go into settings-->about phone-->status you should check to see whether it is a 15xxx or 3xxxx. If the latter a new sim card should fix it right up.
