Had the phone for about 2 months, both the back and the front cameras show these green and pink lines through the screen when shooting vids and pics, even embeds them into the pictures themselves.. And since its BOTH camera lenses, I cant help but think its a software issue... Not sure though, any help ?
Can you show us what you're talking about?

People have had some success with removing the battery from the phone, letting it sit for a few minutes then reinserting battery and turn phone back on.
It's an issue HTC is aware of with this phone and the Sensation.

I had that once, I had to reboot the phone and all was good..
try clearing all data on your camera through the applications folder as well, see if it helps.
thanks jsyi84, thats exactly what it was looking like.. I actually started to treat it like a pc and stopped all the services that were running... After reaching the HTC Sense service and stopping it, it restarted and the camera returned to normal. Thanks soo much I thought I was going to have to go through the hassle of replacing it...
This happenned to me twice. A simple reboot fixed the issue. I should also add that this happenned on the stock rom before I did S-off and on Undead's 3.5 senseless rom. So it could be a hardware issue too...

I've encountered this weird problem with the camera. The phone is brand new. When trying to take pictures, in the viewfinder and the pictures taken, it was blurry and ghostly, something exactly like this:

I have tried so many ways including hard-resetting, flashing to new ROMs and whatnot. Still none works. Any suggestions, please, I don't wanna send te phone all the way to HTC Turkey for repair, as HTC USA claims that my phone's serial number belong there. Thank you all.
I had a similar problem with my Fuze's camera. When I would take photos, it would look like static (meaning the image would not come out at all) but it would be colored exactly the way your photo is colored (the greens, purples, and oranges).
That phone also had a dead pixel on it, so I ended up returning it to an AT&T store, and they gave me a replacement. The problem did not exist on the new replacement phone, so i'm guessing its an issue with the camera.

Thank you for your confirmation, I guess I've gotta try to contact HTC then since I've got my TouchPro on E-Bay.

my step dad had this problem on his iphone and he did a hard reset and it fixed the problem but i would say normally if this happens it is a problem with the ccd so i would try hard reset and dont' load any apps if it still does not work then RMA it
First off let me save it my apt for some reason isn't loading up G2x q&a, which is why I'm posting here.
Now for my question.
Has anyone noticed, that the front facing camera takes pictures in mirror image?
Case in point:

Here is the same item using the RFC:
Just found it interesting. Anyone know why?

Maybe because its use is for video calls...stand infront of a mirror and talk, thats how the other person actually sees you.

Ehhhh, I appreciate the input, but my webcam doesn't work like that. Although, who am I to discredit your theory, it's better than mine which is better than any thing I can come up with.

/facepalm
open the FFC and hold the phone facing you but near a wall, right or left side is fine... now switch it to the RFC and hold it near the wall... view the photo taken with the RFC from the view that the camera was facing, keep the FFC view facing you... see how the wall on the two different camera views are both on the same side?
if it is still not clicking then lets try this... go to a MIRROR, imagine that the person you are seeing is not really yourself (hard i know lol but think abstractly)... point at THEIR left eye... now, point to YOUR left eye...
now think of the different cameras in the position of the mirror instead and how the different views would effect what you are actually seeing... have fun with this mindfuck
It is all about the orientation of you and the camera and what the camera is viewing then what it is displaying back to us...
btw the FCC is showing the correct view
Hey all,
I flashed CM 10 last night and when I went to use my camera, my screen looked like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

As you see.. the camera preview is messed up. Displaying the image the camera sees four times... and not even fully rendered.
I wasn't able to get an actual screenshot of this off my phone as it saves it as a normal picture so I had to use a real camera. The camera functions and takes proper pictures... but the screen so messed up it makes it difficult to take a pic. Also, if I change settings the gallery crashes.
Has anyone come across this before? If so... how do I resolve this heh.
TIA!
Any thoughts? This is driving me insane lol.
My suggestion would be clearing data on the gallery(camera is part of the gallery) to see if that helps. Also try ticking the box under developer settings that references HW overlays.

Clear your data in the gallery see of that works, n fyi don't freak out if your pictures don't pop up in the gallery after you clear gallery data, your pictures aren't gone they will pop back up after some time

Hey Awesome developers,
I'm running onto a weird problem on this Samsung Galaxy SII Plus.
When while colors are displayed, the screen shows a blue-ish/yellow-ish tint on some specific areas. (See the photos below)
Do any of you have this issue? And does anybody have a solution?
Thanks!

Do a test. Check if there is an area on the back of your phone that heats up when you run a game or when you use the phone for more time. If it is, then the video chipset is burned. If you have the phone in warranty, use it, because this is an hardware problem and you don`t hane anything to do.

Trying this right now. I'm not sure about how amoled works, but is it actually possible that a screen changes color when the video-chipset gets too hot? Shouldn't that affect the entire screen?
Re
No. For example, when my video chipset gets hot on my tablet, half of the screen gets colored lines. This is one example, but i`m working at an it service and i see this kind of problem daily. This kind of problem can appear if you drop the phone, overclock it or if it was damaged from factory. It`s true that the same lines cand appear on the display, but only if you dropped it. If the phone was not dropped, it is a chipset problem not a mechanical one.

I`ve seen devices with damaged video chip-sets that do things like north pole aurora, some that pixelate the image, some of them with colored lines, others with artifacts and a lot of other symptoms all from a damaged video chip-set. If the pixel layer of the display is the problem, when you put pressure on the screen, the lines must move. But if don`t, the chip-set is the problem. Test it and see what it is. Good luck!
My nexus 5 is making that sound all of the sudden and I don't know what to do with this.
I was using the camera right before when nexus 5 starts to make "pi" and disk scratching sound
Is this a hardware problem?
So what should I do?
I uploaded a video on YouTube.
Type: Nexus 5 making "piii" + disk scratching sound.......
(The sound is louder than in the video)
(Highlight 0:12~)
I can't help you, but I. Must say that that is the best title I've ever read in a forum.
Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

In all honesty, its very likely that its a hardware problem, and you should probably consider RMA.
You could try flashing the factory images, but I doubt that will change anything as i does seem to be some sort of hardware defect.
This i do not think its a hardware defect as the Camera has OIS correct? Optical Image stabilization
What this means is the camera has Multiple lenses inside and the sound you are hearing is possibly the lens focusing on the target
i had a AT&T HTC one x that does this i thought it was broken but turns out it was just the camera focusing.
