First off thanks for any help...
I would like some help with something I think would be great for my droid. I am not sure if it is out as an app or not, but if it is not I think someone could make some cash.
Here is what I am looking for...
I would like to have my droid as a wifi hotspot ( yes easy ), but on top of That I would like a hands free chat program. I ride with my brothers on our motorcycles all the time. We keep wondering if there is an easy way to chat back and forth. I thought if there was a program out to do that I would check it out. Well so far I have not found one. All chat programs I found are not for just local chat. They all seem to use the net. We would just like it to be only on wifi between us....we would use our blue tooth head sets to hear and talk..
Anyone know of a program we can use? Could any of you programers write an app?
Hope I can find help..... Thanks

Sorry for the double post. I had posted this in the vibrant section by accident. I think it would be best placed here. Anyway. A gtalk widget, One that shows the last 2 or 3 messages and has the ability to answer back. It could look like a twitter widget in all actuality.
Anyone know of one or have the knowledge to make one? I would pay and im sure others would too.

This is a great idea. I know I would use it as I mainly GTalk, not text.
Yeah, I never use texts. All of my contacts and I use gtalk. Is there anyone out there with enough coding knowledge to do it? I'm sure it would be profitable. Gtalk is built into almost every Android device that I've seen and having a widget would be awesome.
Bump!!! I'd love a widget!! I pretty much only use gtalk
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
There is a demand for it. I'm sure of it. I am not a coder and I wish I was. Argh.
Final bump. I guess this is just not meant to be. Imagine a widget like this with gtalk, aim, facebook, msn, etc. A dev could charge 99 cents and make thousands.
Oh well.
BUMP: Seriously, why isn't there a Gtalk widget of any sort? I primarily only use Gtalk instead of texting and I would love to reply without going into the app.
Money can be made here people! If I was a developer, I would be all over this. We have billions of battery/calendar/clock apps but the one thing that hasn't been touched is something as common as Gtalk. I would definitely pay for something like this.
Also bump. This is a great idea.
bump. a gtalk widget would be great!
Love this idea!

I think without hacking the google talk apk the only way to do this would be to write a independent app with the google talk api.
So you would have to use that app instead of gtalk and maybe not have it integrated into android as well.
Buba BUMP. Please someone create this app, I am really surprised there is nothing out there. Come on Google get your finger out ya @#*
I knew there would be a market for this!
I really wish I knew how to code, this would be the first thing I would make.
Any takers? I don't know how hard it would be to make, but there are people willing to pay.
One last bump for bumps sake.

Ps3 and network accessibility

if it would allow me to access my PS3 via remote play over the internet and watch my videos (like I can with my psp) then that would be a killer app for sure.
Can someone upload the new version??
I wish Xbox had an official app like on windows phone 7 so we could get gamerscore and play friends from our phone!
What exactly does this app do? . After the ps3 hack I'm not sure I wanna be installing any pS apps . LoL
Would be nice if it could do what deathsled said . But besides that jus seeing n messaging ur friends . I could jus do that on my ps3 .

It's a brand new app to connect you to the daily-compromised Sony site as well as the often down PSN. Here I thought it was gonna be a Playstation emulator

So back to me, I do have a quick question.
How is the screen on this? As far as scratch resistance etc.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
@Tyler we have a noob faq stickied here as well as a guide stickied in the dev section. We don't need every person who gets a sidekick to start a thread announcing that they are new and don't know where to start because it's obvious where to start.
@wolfpakt it's got gorilla glass which is pretty standard nowadays, it'll protect against most things but sand/gravel will still scratch it

I had read that on some website reviews, and read conflicting info on others. I suppose I was looking for real world experience since I haven't found definite info from Corning or Tmobile.

I read somewhere someone called samsung and confirmed, I've also held it along side a droid x, an incredible, and an evo 3D and the glass feels the same.
I rocked it without a screen protector for awhile with keys in my pocket and never got those tiny scratches other phones get. I use a protector now because i can still be scratched by a grain of sand, (sand= unfinished glass)
It came in today. The hinge for the screen seem quite sturdy.
Next question:
As a geek I have never really considered what a first time smartphone user would want by way of apps. I have on my short list:
1 lookout
2 rhapsody (I have an acct.)
3 zedge
4 hotmail
5 juice defender
Any other suggestions? (not games, she doesn't want the distraction)
Sent from my CM7.1 DARKSIDE glacier with the xda app.
I would get jucie plotter along with juice defender juice plotter has a widget which after tiem becomes acc in remaining time life and if she love music she should use google music to sync her music so she can listen to it

Got to get her a bigger memory card before I do too much music.
This does have an fm radio right?
Sent from my CM7.1 DARKSIDE glacier with the xda app.
no fm radio but u can use iheartradio to support raido stations and btw the music can be streamed (uses data ALOt) and it cna be toggled to download only via wifi and or select only certain songs out of your album
I would skip on the juice defender apps, they take up more resources than they save. Get the amazon marketplace cuz there's a free paid app every day, if you got cable there are apps to turn your phone into a remote (comcast or direct tv) definitely get an alternative browser like opera mini or firefox and set it as main. Qik video chat, pandora, that's all I can think of off the top of my head
Were can I get the apk for that market place

I am looking for an app that i can use to do vehicle inspections, i am in charge of inspecting all the used cars that my dealer group buys and right now i am just doing it the old fashioned way i would like it to be a full blown software that will allow me to input pictures and then make a final report that i can email to the next person.
i have found a few things but no luck
i like this but the company has yet to get back to me
www.inspect2go.com/inspection/vehicle/
how hard would this be?
can anyone help?
thanks
matt
can anyone help out or direct me in a way?
I don't think you will find such an app in the market at the moment i'd suggest to use oldschool methods but i do know there is a few app to test torque and such

I think this is a great idea more generally. If there's a developer out there I think automotive support apps would be tremendously useful for a lot of people. I would pay for something that let me keep track of what maintenance I need to do and how to do it.
I was considering developing on MiUI styled messaging application for non MiUI roms. But at heart I am a data driven developer. If you want, contact me by inbox and we can see if this is possible and how easy it would be to implement. Obviously the clearer the specs, the easier it is to get started on a project like this
Perhaps something like evernote or extensive notes might work for you.

Hey quick question... I made an inverted mms.apk for ics and now I can't seem to send or receive multimedia files while using wi-fi. So I was just wondering if anyone knew which files are associated with that part of the .apk so I can figure out what went wrong

That is a shame. The super genius that bashed others for asking questions in a rom thread can't figure it out. So sad.
Wow... now I'm a genius. And it seems I've developed a fan club too. Things are looking promising in my life after all. Unlike your bf I know how to read and where to post my questions at on this forum. Go troll somewhere else and get off my post if you don't have anything productive to say.

Hardly a fan. You should not expect much support when you treat others like dirt. Since you know everything, I am sure you will work it out.
I already did. Everything works perfect now. Thanks for your insight. I'll leave it at that.
