This isn't like the G1 days where we have Apps 2 EXT and speed really mattered. We have Apps 2 FAT if anything. I'm using the microSD that comes with the phone and it works fine.

As I've been saying, A2FAT is buggy at best and takes upwards of 20 minutes to load. We have the attention of the guys who did PyroMod for the G2, so we can expect the real A2SD once CM is streamlined.
I recommend an SD card Class 4 and up for this device.
It will be fine.

Yes I know. It will probably be out tonight or tomorrow hopefully. That is just my guess. From that link it looks done to me, just under review before release.

I agree with the LG Star.
Seems the difference would be one would have to repartition before flashing, since they don't share the same structure. I wouldn't think the RIL file would be too complicated either.
I just hope they're making headway on creating good alternatives for the dodgy LG drivers on this phone, especially the Wifi.

I have a friend that works at my local sprint store so I can get 16gb class 4 for 20 bux
I'm really just trying to avoid buying one until next month flying my son to california from Oklahoma is not cheap

If he's able to do the labor then he should just find out for himself by doing it. It's not meant to be exchanged or upgradable, but if he thinks he has compatible phone ram off another phone then he should try and be done with it.

That'd be sweet. But as far as labor, you need soldering wire and micro soldering tip with high power magnifier so you can see all the contact points. This process is known as microman, micro management. Kind of a pain. As far as hw goes, I'm sure there is a chip set somewhere you can use. Might have to rewrite code for it to function as max spec and to even allow the programs to run.
I have the a broken Motorola atrix and access to a iomega soldering tech I would like to thank those that helped ill try and let you know

And download Swapper2, or any swapping app from the market...
Note: Slow SD WILL result in a slower performance

Ah that's what I thought . Thank you lol. I used to use it before... not too sure if it made a difference but I'll try it again.
^ Don't get some cheap arse 1 dollar store SD card and use swap... Those will slow your device to a snail pace.

Seriously I'm not feeling htc/att's tactics at the moment. Way too many issues already with this device and it hasnt even been offically released yet. Honestly my next device will have an sd card slot, and a removable battery for crying out loud. What were they thinking? Nevermind, they werent. I'm definitely passing on this device. htc bring back the sdcard slot you dumb ****s. /rant off

Really? I guess some people don't care... like me. I have a 60 GB music collection, but rely on Pandora One and Play Music for my entertainment. My internal sdcards on my phones only hold nandroids and pictures (that auto-upload to Dropbox when on wifi).

16gb has been way more than enough on my Galaxy Nexus. Google music plus the numerous other cloud services.... Sd cards will be a thing of the past.

i did a hard reset and it only fixes it for a short time and thats it

If you haven't altered your phone and having THAT bad a problem you need to sent it back, STOP messing with it and get one that's not screwed up. JMHO, of course....

Then you need to call HTC and find out who you need to talk to to find out if your serial number is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty. If not, it's probably something you should have done BEFORE you made the purchase. I could be wrong but it sounds like someone passed a hardware problem off on an unsuspecting buyer. BUT....it MAY still be covered and they didn't know either.

This is their online "Warranty Statement". But it does conflict with the results some others have had doing a return. It COULD be that they returned it thru their carrier.

the gist of the matter is class 10 cards dont play well with our A2..
P.S: the best way to find out info about anything related to our A2 on xda is just type in google, for e.g. 'xda atrix 2 class 10' you'll get a series of results from xda where class 10 has been discussed
Another thing is when accessing the site through a web browser, just use the search feature from the sub forums for e.g. Atrix 2 General, Atrix 2 Q&A, Atrix 2 Accessories etc.., the search bar will be just aboue the topic list, will be very helpful for you, cause most of the issues related to our phone are already covered..

Thanks for the info ..currently i am using a ota updated ics it works fine but it tends to get slow quite frequently and hangs as well, I am having the default 2gb micro sd they gave..and i doubt whether it is because of this as it is almost full.. Will getting a 32 gb class 4 micro sd make a difference regarding the speed??

Even my phone gets a bit laggy when the sdcard is almost full to capacity.. 32gb class 4 works fine, ive used it but been using 16gb class 6 sandisk card which is pretty good.. and i found hardly any difference between the 2 with regards to speed..

As long as you don't have an AT&T A2 then they have a leak on the development tap of the A2 forums.
