Ran into a problem today.. certain functions no longer detects my SD card.
The android market app and camera does not detect an sd card and says it is unmounted. However... if I use Astro to browse my file directories, I am able to see and browse the sd card folder..
Any ideas as to what's going on? I'm running Oxygen v2.3 if that matters at all. Thanks!

Today I got this notification in my new HTC Sensation. Interessting is the fact, that I seem to be able to access the card alright - reading and writing files to the card is working, just the notification is irritating me.
I noticted there are quite a few posts about the SD card being unsupport - is that a general problem?
How can I backup my SD prior to formating the card?
connect the phone to your pc in disk mode, in windows go to folder options and choose show hidden files just to be safe, copy everything on your SD card to a temporary folder, that's it really.
OK, sounds simple.
Is this a know error (about the disc claiming to be blank)?
I've never seen it personally, this time try and format the card from your sensation.

So i decided to upgrade to newer ROM version, formatted SD card, booted linux, everything good, except i got "SD card blank or has unsupported file system" error. I tried everything, formatting it from both Windows 7 and WM, re-installing ROM, no good.
I cant mount nor erase SD card from Android.
I must add that my card worked perfect before this in an older ROM version (i think from April. 2011) and it works good in WM.
Phone works fine except this problem.
My phone> HTC HD2

No, i don't have another phone or camera that uses SD cards.
SD card works good in WM 6.5 and it worked in previous Android build, it wouldn't run new ROM if it's not working.
I thought about changing kernel and radio to newer versions.
And there is another problem, my screen is not always responding to touch, basicly it isn't working as it should be both in WM and new ROM

I'm getting the same thing on my HTC Sensation. Dam notification but, still read/writes files.

Format the sd card using a sd card adapter of some sort on your computer. When you format the sd card set file allocation size to 4096mb or less (supported by most phones). Finally type " cd ( disk location)" onto command prompt. The "chkdsk" command should check your sd for errors. This method worked on my mobile.

Hi guys im having an issue with a 32gb Kingston sd card, whats happening is that everytime i add files to my sd card from my computer it will show them to me that they are there. But once i put the sd card in my phone the new files i transfer wont appear :/. Ive formatted my sd card already like couple times and still does the same. Never did that to my 8gb card, and top of that when i transfer all my data from the 8gb to the 32 only half transferd and when back n fourth doing it folder per folder and just wouldnt show anything on the phone. Any suggestions, thank you

Going to take a guess and say you're on CM? If so I had problems with my 32GB too but on stock roms it works. I had to get a 16GB to use under CM. I'm not sure of the problem but there was my fix

Are you rebooting the phone after putting back the microsd? Sometimes that works.

As matter fact havent tried on Cm, im on MIUI right now. But im giving it one more try with the formatting see what happens if not will go to Eagle Blood see how that goes.
Yeah im since i noticed my sd card wouldnt show up unless would have to reboot. some files have been transfering but like awhile ago i d-loaded the files that needed for the game Modern combat 2 and after finished i rebooted or just quit playing and tried playing again and have to be redowloading the files over and over again since nothing stays on my sd card :/

That sucks, sounds like a bad sdcard. You still got the receipt?
I got my 32gb lexar class 10 with USB SD reader for just under 50 and its been issue free. Never liked Kingston products.

Tried formatting it using the phone itself? Miui is based off cm7 so that could be the issue as well.

Won't let me format it from phone since as soon as I put it in tells me "safely to remove card now" so kinda like automatically ejectects itself when I put it in. N got another problem :/ I bitlocked the sd card in my windows 7 laptop and as I was transferring files my wire was loose and we'll lost the connection and of course gave me files transfer error. But the problem now is that since I bitlocked the sd card won't let me get in it anymore, even though i put my password I put for the sd card. Just says something error with files and blah blah ;/. Can't even format or or anything anymore ;/

Found the solution for this problem with the bit locker > I mounted my sd card on my xp SP3 and formatted it and gave me the ize of 514mb i was like what. But i still did it and when i mounted it on my windows 7 i formatted again and this time showed me the 32gb size . So now its working properly.yeah buddy.

Moving from Weapon X to Miui rom my sdcard was detected fine but then after a couple of days of using Miui I wasn't able to open up sdcard when connected to my pc. It shown that usb is detected on my phone.
It only work when I restore back to WeaponX. I tried flashing different Miui roms, EagleBlood and PhoenixBlood. None detect my sdcard on pc except for WeaponX. I also tried to format my sdcard. Didn't work.
Anyone got any suggestion??
Try reinstalling ure usb drivers or not just restart the computer that would help with me. Or have you tried it with a card adapter?

If you've tried it both with the USB cord and with an sd card reader, it might just be a bad sd card. This happened to me with a Samsung 16gb. I couldnt add or delete anything on it. Simply had to get a new sd card. Try out Lexar or PNY if you want a good one.

I recently switched to a sense rom from my usual cm7. Now, my sd card wont mount via usb, apps cant accesss sd data files, camera says no sd is present. Samba is the only way i can access sd content.
Is there a way i can attempt to repair this before im forced to reformat??

Take out your sd card and place in a card reader via your PC. then browse and open up the sd card and copy all the folders to your hard drive. Afterwards right click on the sd card and click format. Do a full format not a quick one. Begin copying back over the folders from before. Done.

I have a HTC sensation rooted w/ android version 4.0.3, HTC sense version: 3.6, and using the ROM Android Revolution HD 7.1 XE by mike.
The issue I have with the phone is my 32gb SD card somehow cannot be read by my gallery app, gmail app, zedge, etc therefore causing many apps to crash. However, I can read the files just file using "ES File Explorer".
I can see all the folders, all the apps just fine and even see the pictures I took using the phone (however gallery will not show any photos).
I can even play music using ES file Explorer.
I have tried fixing it by factory resetting it but it works for about 3 weeks then boom it's back to this.
The issue I think is with the ROM recognizing my phone as it knows it has 32gb SD card but when I go into make more space option it says Temporary files from HTC apps-11.75 gb rather than having it all in different options...showing it does not know which one goes to which one.
I'm really puzzled and haven't been able to find anything on this. I know there is no issue with SD card.

did you reboot the device to see if it recognizes anything by the apps?
I think that if u got apps crash, your sdcard isn't read by your System...try to give us what ure Storage menu feel if it got or not your sd card
Try another SD card in your phone mate. Just had this exact problem with my desire. Case could be accessed be a file explorer and my pc but phone just kept saying it was corrupt. Changed SD card, problem solved.

I have a shield tablet withthe latest ota update. i also have a . 64gb sd card that i would like to use in the tablet, however i am unable to get my nusic on the card. i have tried.fat32, exfat and ntfs and transferred.my files using both a local card reader and a direct usb to the tablet. files seen to transfer fine but when i look at the card with esreader they are not there.
windows path says \shield tablet\sdcard but using ereader says i have an emulated sd card, sd1, and sd2. open to all ideas.

I'm having a similar issue when I install or move a game to the external SD. All the games are gone from the app drawer and just force close. Have you figured out a fix for this yet?
