Hey... After this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1309721 and this - http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...am-sandwich-galaxy-nexus-system-app-dump.html occurred, I began meddling around with the APKs and found one that looked REALLY interesting.
Galaxy4.apk
It appears to be the Galaxy Nexus "Galaxy" Live Wallpaper!
I was wondering if anyone is working on or already has got this .apk functioning on Gingerbread?
A new Galaxy Live Wallpaper would be "astronomical"... lol.. (excuse the lame humor)
After peeking at the images in the APK it looks amazing. I was wondering if anyone could get this working on 2.3+? Or perhaps could point me in the direction to learn how to get it working on Gingerbread?
I'm aware of this ∙∙∙
"Currently the apps are Odexed, so they can't be conventionally installed or resigned. And the current iteration of Baksmali doesn't work with the deodexing process. I'm sure somebody will be able to do so or Baksmali will get an update to work with it. But it'll take some time, a lot of great things coming for Android nonetheless."

∙∙∙ but unaware of the status.
Any ideas?

A couple people already tried to port it to 2.3.x, but the thing is... it uses a new rendering method that was introduced in Honeycomb.
So you'd have to completely rewrite the whole thing to get it on 2.3
Or... try to get a jpg out of it. (maybe get a couple screenshots from a device?)
Won't move but will give you the ICS look.

Really? Could you point me in the direction of that information?
Well there is a PNG image file inside the APK that could essentially be used as a stationary wallpaper. And as a matter of fact I already did that. And it was very nice looking...
But I'm more interested in the Live Wallpaper! lol...
Bumpity bump...
Anyone?
Phase Beam wallpaprr on market looks like ics live wallpaper

Hey guys, thanks for the replies...
That's actually not the wallpaper I'm referring to.
This one looks like the "Galaxy" live wallpapers from the Galaxy S devices... You know, the rotating Galaxy?
I seen it on the Galaxy Nexus recently and fell in love with it even more...
The APK was bundled in with the original Galaxy Nexus system app dump. I'm still very very interested in this!
Any ideas? I wish I still had the apk. I had downloaded it but I lost it somehow... I may have accidentally deleted it.
But like I said in my OP, I had opened up the APK and peeked inside to see what the app was. I noticed images of a galaxy and a couple other galactic related images. After seeing it in action I'm absolutely blown away. ME LIKEY! ME WANT!

Found it on another forum.

Pretty cool stuff. Remember to download the additional equirectangular images that go with it.
I downloaded this at work today and installed it. This has got to be one of the coolest live wallpapers yet. I love that you can make it move based on your orientation. It's almost like augmented reality in a way. Really impressed my co-workers haha.
I can't help thinking how cool this would be in a fantasy/sci-fi scene. It'd be like rotating your phone and seeing Pandora all around you.
Why is that phone in the video so long?!
wow, nice find. i loved it, except that when i pan the wallpaper, it also swipes the screen over. but, very very cool, i gotta admit
thats pretty cool...

right?!? i thought it was general distortion on the video, but his hand looks normal. what is that???
its a motorola droid.... ? guessing its either just your brain being tricked from how close to the camera his hand is, or the angle, or possibly the kind of lens he's using.
I went to the link for the additional images and saved them to my Dropbox account from a computer. I opened up Dropbox on the Evo downloaded it but I can only choose from the default image that comes with the live wallpaper.
I went into the settings of live wallpaper and told it to look in /sdcard/dropbox but it's not finding the pictures. Can you guys point me in the right direction?
If I'm not mistaken the Samsung Infuse has a birds-eye view beach live wallpaper with waves, correct? Does anyone know if it's been extracted for use on other devices? All I can find is the Galaxy S II beach live wallpaper, but that one is different...
I want this too can someone hook up the apk
here ya go. there is another one for the vibranr that i dont have but it is kinda low res. not sure which one you were looking for.
edit: this might only work in /system/app. you might need root permissions to install it.
Thanks
I was looking for the one that is actually on the Infuse 4G
will try this out
ah its a shame i moved it to system/app on my Atrix
rebooted, it shows in the live wallpapers but when chosen it force closes
there must be something needed to be done to it, too bad im not a dev

Can anyone get it to work without root and on any device? I assume this can be done since the Galaxy S II LWPs were extracted to work that way...
I'm not a dev, so I don't know if it's possible. For those of us that changed the LCD Density to 720p screen, the dialer is not the right size, and the calendar is a little off too. I was thinking the other day that since the HD is also 720p resolution, would we be able to take the Contacts.apk from the HD (once it's released) and put it on our SR and have the dialer full screen? Thanks!
Stupid question but how do you change the LCD density on our phones? Is it through a custom ROM and or rooted? Thanks.

I just use the LCD Resolution app that's free from the market. Your phone needs to be rooted to use these apps.
Once Skyrocket HD comes out, you can use HD apks from that phone to our Rocket. I m pretty sure it will work!
I sure hope so!
Another thing we should look at is maybe swapping their LCD into our phone. According to a lot of things floating on the internet it is identical to our phone. They basically just added a better LCD and kicked up the video recorder capabilities. Anyone have an idea like that? I'm running mostly on non confirmed info and opinions, but they claim to be solid sources lol anyone carr to share some insight or info?

Well I just tried using the Note's Contacts.apk file in our SR, but I can't even see the Contacts app in my app drawer anymore. Probably need to decode the APK and edit the dimensions manually.
Guys sorry to burst your bubble. But a rumor from a person who has samsung contacts . Is that there will be no sr hd. Its not going into production

So after the at&t press release over at CES, they're just going to drop it and call it a vaporware? Flawless logic

I call TROLL!
The SGS2 LTE HD was released in Korea within a week of the SGS2 LTE... It was released and for sale long before the "Skyrocket" came into your hands in the US... People were importing it here on this board almost a year ago... (It's just not called "Skyrocket" by anyone but AT&T)
It's not a "new phone", it's just not been released through any NA carriers yet.
Love the "friend who has contacts" rumours... they always seem to be SO reliable.
That said, I'll be passing on it since it's just a display upgrade... I already seem to be always getting another damned phone less than a year apart. I'll stick with my SGS II LTE for at least 2 more iterations... quad core? ...or something else I haven't even heard of yet?

Do you have any idea how to do this? I am actually planning to theme a rom for 160DPI. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

I followed the apktool tut here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466100
I got to the point of getting all the files decoded and comparing the xml files.. lol then I got bored of staring at the numbers and code
I'm actually using the Multi-APK tool and so far so good, i've seen the images to edit (the easiest part) but then i'm looking at where to specifically change the resolution support...
This is because of an issue/feature where certain apps all need the same signed signature. I
am having this issue when modifying the stock Contacts.apk.

Hi guys. Hope this is the right place for my question.
Yesterday after a wipe on my GNex i was downloading from the PlayStore all my apps and i've noticed that the MIUI Mimimalistic Theme is gone.
I've bought it some times ago and i've always used it on my screens.
Does anyone know why it's gone?
Will be back?
I've tried to look here on xda and google but can not find any answer
There was a bit if a issue regarding these icons. The designer was accused of stealing them from a XDA member. Both were removed from the Play Store.
Having finally got the chance to instal both icon sets, I can assure you they are pretty different. I MUCH prefer Minimal MIUI to the other set. The quality is better and it includes more icons. Hopefully it will return to the Play Store shortly.

To be honest I wouldnt count on it. Alot of MIUI things are being removed from the play store for violating copyrights and being known for taking the work of others and claiming it as their own.
Today I've sent an email to KXNT, the designer of the theme, and he said he's working to solve the issue.
We just have to wait and pray lol
Oh man...had paid for it and it's so good. So many icons to use... :/

Looks like his new version is up. The name has changed due to "MIUI" apparently being copyrighted. You can read about it on kxnt's tumblr.
Here it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.launchertheme.kxnt.ui
So we have to buy it all over again??
Hi to all!
I'm new to the forum, and I'm glad I have discovered this community! What I like most is Android's flexibility!
By the way, I have a question for you:
I'm fond of the old S Planner App I had on my Galaxy S4 (the one with the leather/paper colors), and I'd like to have it on my new Galaxy S7. Obviously, it isn't available for download on any store, so I tried to extract the .apk file from my old phone with the Apk Extractor found on the Play Store.
Everything went apparently well, the apk was successfully created, and I imported it on the S7 via Dropbox. Sadly, when I tried to install it, I got the "App Installation Failed" message, and I couldn't get it working.
Do you guys have any advice about this? Is there a way I can get the good ol' S Planner on my S7?
Thanks!!!
(P.s. sorry for not providing a screenshot of the app; the forum prevents me to post links to outside websites, and images too. To get an idea of the app I'm talking about, search on Google for "samsung s planner", images: it's the one with leather/paper color set).
I do remember this app. Those apps rely on Samsung's TouchWiz framework and I believe that has changed considerably since the s4. That being said, I believe the successor to that is the S Note app. Check it out here [http://www.samsungapps.com/appquer...ng.android.snote&cntyTxt=311&equipID=SM-G935V
Hope that helps somewhat. I know it's not 100%, but between that and "Memo" it should hopefully cover your bases.

Did you resolve this issue? I'm in the same boat. I'm really frustrated I can't colour whole days in etc.
