Yes sir, just install like any other app.
No need to push it in the system and mess with permissions or anything.

& That is correct ! The keyboard must be enabled from Language and Keyboard settings for it to be able to work.
AND, if you're using a custom font, the keyboard will begin to force close and stop working. (At least on Virtuous)
I was hoping this would somehow include the cm7 hardware keyboard settings
Thank you for providing this, though!

Its the nick name that Google's likes to put on their phone operating system version. On every .1 they update they release it with a nick name. So Gingerbread is given to Android 2.3, Froyo was given to Android 2.2 and it just does down the line to 1.5 i believe.

Yes Gingerbread is the new Android Operating System. It is also known as CM7, 2.3.2, or 2.3.3. It is much faster than the older OS! I am using it right now.

Works just fine on my rom/kernel. There's some code that has to be added to the kernel to enable the insanely bright torch mode, so if the kernel supports it, it will work fine. Even if the kernel don't support torch mode, the apk will still work as a flashlight app, you it just have to change permissions to rw/r/r when you put the apk in /system/app.

I am on the latest MIUI 1.4.22b7v4 and had CM7 on my sd card. Using root explorer I extracted it and grabbed the Torch.apk from CM7 and put it in System/App and changed the premissions and it works like a charm. Thanks for this thread, its a small thing but man I have been missing the super bright!
Here is the Torch.apk from CM7 if it helps anyone...Dont forget to change the permissions and you have to be on a Gingerbread ROM.
Appreciate that bro

hey all, I am a dev for the mytouch 4G and I finished a port of my AOSP ROM to the HTC Thunderbolt. I need 5 ROM testers. I do not own a thunderbolt so I can test this build myself which sucks. I also added a bunch of cm7 framework and I also added cmparts and cm settings, this rom is also themed blood red. Status bar, launcher etc etc are all themed red. If the test is sucessful I plan on releasing it in an alpha state. Please check out my 3 threads in the HTC Glacier/ mytouch 4G. Pm me if u want to test.

Wow, everything is running smooth so far. Wifi works, Imma keep playing with it and see what needs to be fixed! Thanks for letting me try this out, it looks pretty damn nice. Digging the red theme!
*EDIT Browser FC'ing, nothings helping it. This is for sure broken!
Can you port to SGS4G? We need ROMs bad

Well I would have tested lol got beat to it
I have a question. I love this [[ROM][Sense 4.0][FINISHED] OrDroid 9.0.0 ], but one thing I've notcied is instead of saying 4G up top for the data connection, it says H. Is there any work around for this?
Also, I see people are talking about another ROM that might be better than this. Is this the ROM ViperS 1.1.0 ?
If so, how is it any better?
Thank you
You can flash the sense 4G patch to replace the h.and I have heard by some people that vipers awesome and some have said that they didn't like it.try lighting sense 4. Take care...

Sadly this didn't work. It caused a lot of issues with things being forced closed. I had to reinstall the ROM in order to get the bar back at the top.
Anything else you guys can think of?
Did it say aosp if so you cant use it.thats fir senseless roms.

I have been flashing roms for a while now, but was wondering if roms developed for the evo 4g would theoretically work on the shift. I am in no way worried about the physical keyboard working, haven't used it but maybe five times UN the two years I have had the phone. Thanks.

The only way to make a Rom developed for the OG EVO to work on the Shift, is to port it.
I've tried to port but still haven't had any luck. Which process works best for the shift?

Aosp should be able to be dirty ported. By removing app framework media and fonts from a cm base and using them folders from the port. Also use the androidruntime.so from ports system/lib folder. Not all will work but its worth a shot. I dirty ported teamDIRT 0.3 from the og evo to doubleshot today and have dirty ported double shot cm9 to the shift and yalls back to my phone and also the paranoid android posted here

Is the process different for sense ROMs or is it basicly the same? I tried a sense gingerbread ROM from the EVO forums and the logcat has all kinds of problems in it.
