As introduced to the the TEAM ROM! i am releasing AppMan for public consumption, i mean to do this a while ago but have been sick and busy, better late than never
This thread is for bugs, requests, and general info about AppMan!
What is AppMan you ask? well what isn’t AppMan! basicly EVERY addon for your custom ROM available through a live menu, to be either saved to your SD card for flashing or installed as soon as it is finnished downloading! So with AppMan you can “Bloat” or “De-Bloat” to your liking without worying about deleting the wrong files in Root-Explorer!
BUT but thats not the best bit! AppMan checks for updates for your ROM and notifies you of any new addons, updates, mods, themes, ect ect. You will then be able to download any of these things from AppMan and update or flash them with a few simple clicks!
“OTA” Update for any custom ROM!
BUT Wait it gets EVEN COOLER! AppMan doesn’t need to be updated to add new items to the lists as it looks it up from online! The idea is you can add new mods / tweaks / anything realy as often as need be and you can veiw them at your pleasure from you phone!

Q- How do i get AppMan in my ROM!
A- Simple Fork this REPO update the master branch, and send me a message and i'll add you to the list
Q- I have more than one ROM can i have it in all my ROMs and have defferent items for each?
A- EASY simply make a new branch for each of the ROMs and again let me know i'll add it to the main list.

AppMan How, What, When, Where, Why
So the basics is AppMan checks what ROM you are on then checks the master list of ROMs and checks if your ROM is there. if it is it generates a the menu with the supported options (Apps, Scripts, Kernels, Mods, Updates, Themes) ( this is what is grabs to do this )
then when you select a item it looks up the list and displays it ( here is the TEAM app's list for an idea )
I put a description of all the items that need to be filled out in the github readme ( here )

So can we have our own file storage server or what u say

So i can store some files and can download them using appman when i need them...

At this point I'd have to say no. Appman is meant to be a file browser more a tool to enable correct usage of addons for roms and to simplify everything for users.
Oh and Just to be clear I cant ( at this point) offer hosting of files.

Ok so latest miui from cobrato data off wifi enabled it says loading appman is getting his cape or whatsoever and then the box dissapear and i can see an android whit a cape and its loading forever

I think it'll be easy to run 2 roms. The hardest part is going to be copying over theme stuffs. But maintaining 2 roms won't be a problem (i think)

You XDA newcomers need to learn how this place works. You need to READ MORE, SEARCH MORE, and then ask questions that make sense...and have information we can work with.
I've only been active on this board for 5 months. I spent my first three months (nov-jan) READING what came down and testing on my phone. I spent 1 year before that lurking when it came to my windows mobile phone. If it wasn't for supporting my rom i'd still have close to 100 posts.
Sorry about the rant....sad part is it won't do any good.

Coming from a google build you need to wipe or you'll inevitably have issues.
Restoring data.img will cause the same problem
I would grab a backup app and try backing up your settings.

Why in the world would you spam a thread when the developer clearly asked you not to? Do you not like awesome free custom ROMs? Good gods.
Anyway, will you be making a light version without the theme? Will said lite version still contain so Hero elements such as the transitions? And lastly, we should be able to no wipe from Kabiore's Rogers, right?
If you come from rogers or sapphire/magic rom you shouldn't need to wipe.
Not sure about coming from hero.
Backup app: I use mybackup pro but this one seems nice too

hm...correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you just pull /data/data/* and then adb push it back after you wipe to restore settings?
For those who miss the IM app from CyanogenMOD which was removed after 4.2.9.1

its here for a very good reason...
at the time i was distributing it via the cmupdater and had recieved 40+ emails of people asking for it (plus some more recently)
noone ever looks in the apps section and nobody took notice in the main CM thread
also, its part of the roms before 4.2.10 so i put it here as a supliment to the roms
i report enough "wrong section"s to know what constitutes being here

Good post garok89 and this is the correct section, its a system app having to do with the cyanogen rom, therefore it needs 2 be here.. ive been looking for this and i would never have went to the apps forum to look. This is jus like when someone post browser.apk updates or contacts.apk updates etc

its not an apk file as there are extra things in there that need to be shuvved in to /system/app etc to make it work

The normal APP2SD problem -.-u must use MountUSB Widget to mount your sdcard as harddrive ;-) Thats the only problem i know.

So, i try your rom right now, and the first feelings are good. Moving between the screens is very smooth and in the main menu self. A other bit plus is that you have the option to switch between diferent keyboard types. Two things, in the main menu you have to navi and maps icons, one from it is whit red capitals, BRUT.. so im didnt know what you mean whit it? and the other input, when you go to the third screen to the left side, you see a line on the left side from the display.. the other things are fine right now for me.. i think a standard e-mail app would be greate, so you can sync whit ms exchange.. whit a free usb switch from the market, the mounting from the sd card as a external drive on the pc works fine.. ,)

1. Edit this lines on build.prop, for all ROMS that you want be recognized
ro.build.id= -> Only double number here, should correspond with rom manager format (please not GRJ22 or v1.4.5.1, that will make ROM Manager throw error)
ro.modversion= -> The same name that rom have on ROM Manager repo, no spaces Please
2. Also we need repo list, you can generate with this tool, if you need help, tell me
REPO FORMAT:
romname(should be the same from ro.modversion, with no spaces);directUrl;Changelog:, ,separed,by,commas,without,*,or,-, ,Author(not by bla, only author name);MD5;lastVersion;itsHotfix?*
*We have too hotfix repo, if itsHotfix==true, then ROM Manager, will get download link from another repo, format it's more easy, just hotfixDirectURL;MD5;NeededVersion, so if rommanager main list, have 5 roms, hotfix repo, have 5 urls, if rom dont have hotfix, you can write just null, or anything, like a placeholder

No offense, have you checked first post specs, version it's not a String, it's a double number (so instead of XPERIA TW V008 should be 8.0? )

dude i am just suggesting so that it becomes slightly easier to get it working... every rom dev has different naming/numbering style... u cant control that... what u can do is to make ur program work with all possible styles...
also i am not sure many devs will appreciate making changes to build.prop...
anyways... it was just a suggestion...

Wow you see what you're saying .. making it compatible with ALL possible styles. That's insane :/, as you said, every ROM dev has different style, so will be impossible to get all the ways, so that's why we make unifications , we have unified chargemon, easy-to identify roms, etc. It's just hard, think on this, ROM manager checks doubles from some rom, but how can we check the version, on a ROM, called GRJ22, and the same name on all versions?, how would ROM manager recognize that there's a new version?. it's not so hard for devs, just change 2 things on build.prop, im sure you do it all time for some tweaking or testing

I dont think a unified chargemon is possible as diffrent ones are used between 2.1 ,2.2 ,2.3, and miui roms also using a custom kernel or not makes it even more complicated

It's not needed unified chargemon that's just an example, i just need devs to mod a little bit build.prop, it's not hard
Sorry for double post, but this is nice idea:
Just got a idea, about making your chargemon unified, i mean, the basic part of chargemon, inside it, and the kernel addons, and all that things, inside a external .sh on system\bin folder, so ROM Manager, can easily detect / mod chargemon, and your kernel dont get affected

dude if we work on my kernel manager idea we dont need to worry abt chargemon at ALL! we will use our own chargemon/recovery pack!

I liked the simple superuser and permissions management of MIUI v4, so thought I'd port it to work on any ICS rom. Note that this zip will replace Superuser/SuperSU so always take a backup first. I'm not responsible if something goes wrong and you haven't.
Questions you shouldn't ask:
Does this work on gingerbread/froyo etc.
Answer: NO, its ICS+ only.
Does this work on MIUI v4?
Answer: Probably, but if your on v4, you already have it so don't waste both of our time trying.

Yeah, its basically the permissions management part of lbe, with super user control added. Lbe make it for miui. I much prefer the look and simplicity of this one to the full lbe.
awesome, it worked for me on a DroidX on ICS. It didnt remove superSU though, is that because it is a data app not system?

Probably. It only remove super user apks from /system/app
Data ones you can uninstall yourself, and it won't cause any harm if it stays there, it just won't do anything as the su binary will call this app instead.
Ok, that's what I thought. I usually put it in system but every new ROM install removed it so I got lazy lol. Thanks

If it changed ANYTHING at all on a miui v4 rom other than the dark theme, I would be having words with your dev as this is exactly the same as what's already included, they're doing something wrong.
Do you think you can port the miui clock app [not widget]?
If this the one that gives prompts when an app tries to send a sms etc?

Another example (as with notes) of an app that's both open source and already available on xda.
I'm not taking requests, someone just got lucky with the clock as I was gonna do it anyway

I cant code so I cant do anything with the source code. I take it there is no source for the messaging app? Please do that, I know you said no requests but please.....
