What problem are you having with CRANIUM that you want to update?

A few glitches...
In sleep mode, data connection stops working...I observed many times.
Apps are not properly signed while installing updates!!
Lower DPI is of no use. It give me useless space.
But I am very happy and thankful for the improvements developers bring in with CRANIUM, for our SGSL.
I asked for best custom ROM because I always want to have best things on my phone. ain't you?

I am also on Cranium 3.1 KPH. Not happy with battery life otherwise okay. I also want to change to better ROM to get more battery life and 10 lock screens. Not sure which to flash XXKPM, XXKPN, DXKP9 or DDKP3

GT-I9003, GB XXKPH, Rooted, Deodexed, CF-Root
Wave 2, 8530, Bada 1.2, DDKA1

Reading many threads I find & have concluded there is no GB stock rom which is bug free as of now hence all custom roms inherently have the bugs just posted this thread wondering why update to GB?

Cranium 3.0 KPH is better than 3.1 gives me battery life of around 40 hours with normal use

Go for i9003dxkp9!!!!!!!
Bro go for i9003dxkp9 the Asian version and install poseidons rom rc1..its stable and fast..

problems with cranium 3.1
I had flashed cranium 3 and the 3.1 hot fix over xxkph rooted with cf root.
My experience
1. No change in battery life even after using no frills cpu control app.
2. was not able to update gmail from android market.
3. gmail and xda app color scheme bright blue over dark blue was not easy to read. Couldn't change it. (I had posted question on this)
4. Didn't have better benchmark scores
5. GPS lock was slower than xxkph
6. SMS threads would show wrong sequence with wrong time tags.
It looks like most roms (both stock and custom) are not adequately tested -otherwise basic flaws like above wouldn't go un -noticed.
This is just to make people aware that they should flash only to experiment and have fun with that.

I agree with you. The MIUI player can't get lyrics although I have connected to the WIFI network and set to allow lyrics download. It's not very important but I hope the cranium can do better

I am using XXKPM with LegendX theme. it looks awesome with all features. So far I didnt have any problem I can call it as a bug. its smooth and stable. I recommend you to go for xxkpm and do convert your file system to ext4. its huge increment in speed.
I hope it helps.

The super best custom ROMs will be when gingerbread 2.3.7 will be out.. Or probably if we have a successful ICS port... So honestly speaking there is no best custom ROM it is upto your daily usage for you to decide!
Tapashocked via my gt-I9003 with a random keyboard of my choice !
when i added that widget of task manager it displays that , problem in loading widget
any idea by how much time will 2.3.7 rom or ICS be released

[Q] Which custom ROM is recommended for me?

Hi all,
I need help deciding which custom ROM to flash to my i9003, but i want one that has full Arabic support and a good camera firmware. If possible, please post images of ROMs you recommend, any help is appreciated
Good camera- gingerbread has dim video recording, so choose a froyo custom rom. Maybe cranium 3.1(I tink its froyo, not sure) and should have Arabic(again, I'm not sure). Check out the android dev section for that rom, and also I believe you can add Arabic patch to any cRom.

hello mate,
Well if you not interested in video record, I suggest for you Cyanogenmod 7 it is so smooth and stable with some issue that can be fixed soon, like video record, apps can't use mic.
this is my chose
and have fun
@bscraze Thanks for your response. Ive been reading a little about Cranium 3.1, and i'm about to flash it but i had a question related to the instructions given by sakindia123:
he says clean flash to XXKPH, so can i flash to JPKP5 instead? it is exactly the same version of gb but just different region (language)
maybe anyone can answer my question without having to start a new thread over it
thanks..

I don't think so, there's no reason not flash to xxkph, unless you're sim locked. If you still want to try, go ahead, I'm not sure weather it will work. If it doesn't you can always reflash, as it will result in a soft brick at most
Sent from my GT-i9003 powered by MIUI
cranium is GB, not froyo. don't flash the rom without upgrading to GB first. (I see that was mentioned that you know it's GB, so just a warning...). in addition, if you haven't seen it yet and you want to use push mail notification, GB has a bug on all ROMs that keeps it from working properly. if you don't need it, then flash away!

Well they both have Arabic patch, just that I'm not sure if its preinstalled in cm7. Cm7 has dsp manager which is good, Poseidon I'm not sure if it has dsp manager. Its really personal preference, for me I prefer cm7. Poseidon just wasnt for me . If you try and you feel it doesnt suit your taste, then switch. Right now I love miui so much I haven't switched roms ever since I flashed it, though im aa flashaholic and flash a lot of roms in the past for my android phones

Remember to do a full wipe before and after flashing(for safety) and you may want to flash a custom kernel after that, maybe xda bam or uc kernel, and remember to wipe cache and dalvik before and after flashing the kernel.
Remember that if you can't boot your phone but can access download mode, don't panic, just do a reflash. Eg. Reflash kpq.
PS. I recommend uc kernel v9 2009 or 1009 or 3009 if your phone can handle the overclock. Also, custom roms are definitely better than stock roms have fun flashing

[Q] choose between stock, custom or port.

I'm currently on stock gingerbread 2.3.6 uclb3 but its too laggie, i have like 374 apps, i need a Rom that can play 720p videos. The half of my apps are games so i need a better experience. It's really important the battery life but based on my use i know i can't get i really good life, i only use wifi so 3g or 4g doesn't matter me. Bluetooth isn't really important. Based on this, can you help to choose between stock, custom or port? I have entropy dd 04/04/2012 and supercharger v6. if i need another tweak or kernel or eliminate anyone don't forget to tell. thanks.

Best GB ROM?

Hello friends!
Presently I am on Osmanfans 1.3 based on XXKB3 Froyo. As its a pretty long time since I updated, I am planning to update. As the phone will be used by my wife and she doesnt like to experiment a lot, please guide me as to which is the best ROM and kernal available as of now.
Please donot confuse me with multiple choices. I want to shift to a Gingerbread ROM which is complete in itself and doesnt lack features. I checked the features of MIUI and it looked nice but unfortunately it doesnt support Video recording and seems to have battery issues.
All said and done, give me one ROM that you guys think is the best...
Thank you.

I will suggest u 2 simple options
1. XXKPQ Its one of the most famous GB rom available which most of the people & most of the kernel developers use it as base rom. So I highly recommand u to use it.
2. DDKP3 Its Indian based rom which has most highest battery backup in GB rom. But as compared to xxkpq it has less mods avalable in forum.
U can use use xda bam kernel or doomlord kernel. Both are superb kernels.
Choice is urs...!!

If your wife has to use it then I suggest you stick to xxkb3 rom which has least bugs whereas all gb roms have bugs at my last count it was having 7 bugs. These bugs either have workaround or custom mods or use custom kernal which solves these bugs.
I am using stock kpq, rooted, de-odexed and removed all unnecessary apps. Added necessary mods.
Pretty happy with it.

As he mentioned he needs video recording, so any CM based ROMs are out of question.
u can use poseidon rom since it more stable than CM all issues encountered by the users and testers has been solved like wifi, gps, battery performance..etc
plz hit the thanks button if i helped you
yep, i agree buddy.
of all roms ive tried (not including cm's) poseidon's rom over xxkpq was smoothest and best, with bugs solved.. along with this installation was kernel: uc v9 1009 + custom theme (you may choose up to your own choice) + some mods/scripts. the above enumerated was the best ive used for so long before moving to miui v4 2.7.6 which is way too smooth (however, unapplicable to u since video recording deems to work in low res).
cheers.
I loved titanium rom the most!! finest rom ^_^ .. even supports Hindi and other languages .. and i found it to be best when it comes battery ..

Would you say miui and poseidon are better than remics?? I'm thinking of flashing miui. I'm looking mostly for smoothnes in scroll and opening apps.
For you I think the best options are titanium or stock. I love stock roms! But they are not smooth enough for me, if that's not a problem for you, you should use the stock rom because of the lack of bugs.

i think ill go for titanium again, just will ask anyone if that rom works with bam kernel, smooth fast best battery life. I love stock rom to but to much lags and not so smooth, titanium has just one little bug; when someone calls you u cant see who is calling for about 1 second thats enough for grabbing the phone from your pocket lol, u all got thanks for answers, thanks.
if u want to be in stock ROM better to try the new value pack which is DDLF2 it has been reviewed by others and they can say that it is battery efficient, smooth and stable...and if u found lags u can use bam kernel v.14 beta that fixes bugs.. dont forget the thanks button..hehe
u can read some reviews about the said fw here:

Try TheFrankenstein's Mod for DDLF2. Its smooth as hell . Literally as fast as CM7 . U could give it a try .

im not saying that poseidon is better than remics buddy. i am saying that poseidon could be of good choice too. pls read op buddy, he asks for a bug free rom (specially with video recording) so i did not mention about remics, etc so as not to mislead him.
cheers,
edit:
sorry buddy, misunderstood ur post hehe..
poseidon paired with uc kernel v9 1009 was the longest streak i used (in terms of gingerbread base). apps smooth and snappy during opening. titanium had good reviews too buddy.
if u were referring of miui gingerbread, its not so stable and battery life is short. ryt now however, i am on miui v4 (ics based), which is far the snappiest ive tried in terms of scrolling and opening apps. battery life also is satisfactory with around 15-17 hrs moderate use per experience. miui v4's external card been changed to emmc =)
