Yea, meant to put it in General.
Its in the market.

come on people post things like this in the right area. your going to get more into then
Simple solution would be to tell them that its the wrong section, give them a 24 hour ban, and then answer the question when posted in the correct section...
waste the mods time in moving threads and deleting them, they'll waste 24 hours of your time for not reading simple rules, or having common sense
make your case here
Been happy to run stock for a while, but going to load something new tomorrow
currently using infused 1.5, I like the stock look but wanted the extra tweaks and features like bloatware gone, better battery life and its noticably faster.
Infused gives you 2 options at startup for launcher, either a much more revamped version of touchwiz 3 or the gingerbread style launcher with 3d drawer. I prefer the revamped tw. most of the core components your used to with stock will be there but you get the open market, not att crappy version, widget picker so your list isn't a mile long, hotspot enabled and some other stuff, just read the changelogs. So if you love the stock look but want the added stuff infused is for you.
I never understand questions like these lol. There isn't a best, it's a matter of personal preference.

indeed, that's why I asked for people's opinions and to state their case
I've never understood questions like yours, where people feel the need to but into other threads just to tell them how stupid their question was.
You. Should Read the entire thread of both roms you're interested in and ask questions there. There's no need to clog up the forum with pointless threads.
It's pointer because there are already threads about the roms. Post there.

I apologize for not asking King Shadow65781 permission to post something in General, and for wasting your highness's precious time with my pointless thread.
65781, I'm assuming you're from Missouri?
That would surely explain a lot
Op, i tried all of them and i like best the bionix rom! Runs and looks fantastic.

Seriously tho I've been back and forth on them all. Infused gave me best battery life and was faster but I'm on bionix because I like the gingerbread look and the transitions.

I'm using Infused 1.5 (with the 4.5 TouchWiz launcher found here) + bedwa's Infusion Kernel.
Gtg's rom is already very smooth and quick, added in the OC from the Infusion kernel and this phone flies. Also, the battery life is pretty great thanks to the rom in itself and the UV'ing from the kernel.
Really enjoying this setup as of now, the only thing that would really make me change is if a developer produced a CyanogenMod rom or an MIUI rom.
Having tried all three, there isn't a huge difference and it comes down to personal preference. Once you're on ext4 you can literally flash a new rom and kernel in the same amount of time it took you to come up with that monster slam "what are you from Missouri" lol
Edit: and trust me, once you flash one, you'll end up trying them all. You should start with infused since his thread has very noob-friendly instructions for people like you

I've flashed more roms than I care to in my time, but I'm traveling on work and I have limited time I'm on wifi to download roms to install. Don't want to wait 2 more weeks until I get back home, so I figured I'd ask people who have roms installed.
that was a nice attempt at an insult in the edit, but you betray your ignorance in the first paragraph when you defended Missouri.
In the words of Grandpa Simpson "I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah."
Thanks for posting this thread and in the right spot!
I have infused and enjoy it, I am curious about the others but all the rom threads are wanked now.
There are a couple of things I have to do on a daily basis that make switching roms every other day impractical.
My phone requirements run more to usability than looks, fortunately the infused rom provides a nice stable base for both.

made the thread in general discussion and kids just still can't help but flame
what the hell's this forum for if you can't even make a thread about favorite roms and pro's/con's without being flamed by 12 year olds
Shouldn't have called the thread "best infuse rom" maybe "which rom works best for you and why"
Frankly, there is no best rom. Its all preference.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
There's a reason we mods don't like "best rom" threads. Unnecesary flaming, name calling, etc.
Like the others said: there is no "best" rom, only the one that best suits you. And you have to find it yourself, no one can do it for you.
Closed.
I am trying to find the gingerbread rom for my husbands Galaxy S. Kind of new at this and will need directions if anyone can lead me in the right direction i'd be very greatful. Thanks in advance.
On a side note, 2.3 is Gingerbread. If you browse the Galaxy S forums, you would be able to find what you need. I went ahead and found the stock one for you.
Just a word of advise, if you are new to installing roms, I would recommend finding someone that knows what they are doing, or you could risk bricking his phone.
thanks although the links didn't show up he wants to be able to watch netflix on his phone of course if there is an easier way to allow him to do that i would be much happier with that. Im just not sure how to go about it i do understand that bricking is possible but i dont' have anyone to do it but me so i kind of stuck

Currently the only way to watch netflix on the gs4g is with Gingerbread 2.3.3.
There is a odin flashable rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146145
Before flashing I would read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1001759
It is not that difficult just make sure to read through the forum and use the search button.
Remember however at this time gingerbread is a leaked build, so it may have some bugs. Future releases will likely fix this but may take some time.
THANKS
Thank you so much for all the info i did flash our HD2's to android but mine is having some issues now and i went to the GS but the screen was to small for me being as i'm almost blind in a sense but i will try this and see if this is what he wants or wants to go back to HD2. Again thanks so much.
you have absolutely no clue what your'e talking about. Please take 1 minute to research next time, and you'll realize there are 2 gingerbread versions on this site.
the fact tha you don't e ven know that 2.3 is gingerbread means you shouldn't even be posting yet
She asked a question. Yes, she could have researched, but you don't have to be so rude about it; especially when corradokng addressed her issue as well as telling her to search next time.
Abie, let us know how it goes. I hope you guys get it working. Check out the netflix threads in the themes section

Honestly, that's one of the most unnecessary posts I've seen in a while.
You're supposed to be kind to new users, not rude.
People like you are why Krylon left XDA.
Oh ok, I'm sorry that there's a section in this forum called Android Development, and that the OP didn't bother to even click on that.
One click, and this thread wouldn't even n eed to exist

Rude.
The point is that the new user didn't know it existed...just help 'em out!
Thanks for all the advice and help but we deceided to go back to our HD2's that are currently running HyperDroid and I did it all by myself. Again thanks for answering my questions and reminding me to research. You are great.

i've arrived from the vibrant forum to a new home, and it is indeed a strange land.
anyway, loved the vibrant forums and look forward to these. while visiting the store for a warranty exchange the CS rep alerted me to the fact that i was in line for a Free warranty Upgrade?!?!?!?! to the SGS 4G free o' charge...i said yes. i've started reading the Bible's post on porting vibrant roms over, i'm using Jetpack 3.1(my favorite port to the vibrant) as my vibrant rom. it's my first real attempt at trying to do this and succeed or fail i want to go through with this...if any of you have pointers towards more resources please point! currently i'm really happy/impressed running stock rooted with TW's Bali 3.3 Kernel using the Go launcher. glad to be on board.
Welcome to the SGS4G forums. You can get started by looking at the rom threads that you like and just reading some posts and ask questions, alot of questions . Our community will gladly assist you on what you need to get done. I would normally suggest reading the Bible but it hasn't been updated in a while. It still has alot of useful information, so you can still check it out if you please. You will most definitely enjoy your stay here.
P.S- If you want Gingerbread right now, there's a thread on the development section called The gingerbread starter pack by fbis251, it's a sure way to get on GB the RIGHT way, even though I'm still on Froyo LOL.

Newguy: Welcome to the forums ^•^ yeah like kucho said use fb's starter pack to jump on gb there's some pretty great roms out there. U might wanna check out Valhalla which to me is the trusty one and octane if you're looking for something fresh
PS just don't use ROM manager lol

Just throwing this out there because I am a noob and it gets a bit confusing and time consuming trying to read all the threads sometimes to make sure I am looking at the correct information, but now that we are getting quite a bit of dev support for each of these phones, shouldn't they each have their separate forums or at least separate threads within this forum?
Or are they essentially the same exact phone besides the carriers and the roms and other dev'd stuff can be used on either of the phones?
Hopefully some of you dev's (who I think are kicking a$$ at getting new stuff to try out posted) can opine since it will make for a bit more work from you with dual postings if there are separate forums
Essentially they are the same device. I have used at&t based rooms on my Rogers device .
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
So can you use Rogers skyrocket rom on att device?
yup. most of the custom roms are Rogers based due to that carrier iq thing (not active in our stock rom)

This is what you asked earlier? Well, if you search "ICS BLN", the first four posts clearly say no BLN.
Nobody is going to teach you how to search, learn it on your own. Don't think that we sit here all day researching every post just because we're not as bad at getting answers compared to you.
