I just came back with my atrix 2 and rooted once again. I reinstalled my backed up apps on the device with titanium backup pro. Everything installed fine and I restart the device. The device loads up fine and now my home button and search button are broke. I can click them and the phone will vibrate but no action follows. Anything I can do before I go and install everyone all over one at a time?
Damn bro you having some bad luck! Are you backing up everything with TiBa or just the apps. Can't understand it breaking them buttons though. Maybe a factory reset? I quit using TiBa on my OG ATRIX due to having a lot of problems to, made me a app list and found it a lot easier to just go download them again versus the headache with TiBa. Good luck!
I went ahead and installed all of the apps from scratch. Fixed the problems it seems

I tried that as well, still messed up both buttons. I never had any issues using the Captivate with Titanium Backup. I'm guessing TB will eventually do some testing and release an update with it being compatible? Ended up factory restoring the device 4 times and just gave up... oh well.
*Face Palm* Dead LCD pixel?
Holy crap I can't win with this device at all. Just spent over 2 hours getting the device set back up after Best Buy replaced. Now I have a friggin dead pixel... going to look for a program that maybe can unfreeze the dead pixel.
Hope you get the kinks worked out, but with a dead pixel I'd probably make that trip to BB again LoL. Good luck
I have never had an issue batch restoring apps with MyBackup, just make sure to restore apk's first then their data.

i have not had a problem restoring my apps+data on Titanium. it never did as you described with my buttons. i dont think its titanium thats the problem. likely an app that you had or something wrong with the hardware

I was thinking that as well... If I need to restore again I'm going to install small groups with TB instead of all at once. Nothing too serious but I know my wife gave me some crazy eyes after I spit out a ton a swear words.

I bought my Captivate on 12/13. For the first 3 weeks I had it I had almost no problems with it (other than the usual GPS issues). About 3 weeks ago I rooted (1-click Root), installed the 1-click decripple, SGS Tools, Titanium Backup and OCLF and removed some of the bloatware, but stayed with the stock ROM. Got some noticeable improvement as far as Quadrant benchmarks, but about a week after I did all that the phone started freaking out. I had my first of 2 unexplained shutdowns. Simple things, like receiving calls, would lock the phone up. Then I started having force closes when I tried to use a speed dial. The past week the battery has been doing strange things like losing 60% charge over 4-5 hours without using the phone for anything. It will somehow go back to normal and work fine for 4-5 days. Today, the force closes and lockups started anew. Again, an incoming call locked the device. I didn't even know it for 3 hours when I turned it on and the clock was over 3 hours behind and the screen wouldn't take any input beyond unlocking. Reboot and later I tried to speed dial and back into force close loop. Reboot...still does it. Tried to bring up my contacts and get a black screen, eventually leading to getting kicked back to the Home screen. Obviously, the contacts issue is related to the speed dial issue, which is probably related to the incoming call issue since they all are tied together. But what could be the problem? I am so frustrated I'm ready to hurl this thing at a wall. I uninstalled OCLF and am considering an Odin flash to stock. Seems like the phone is really flaky when it has a full of >90% charge. Any clues?
I would start with olcf. The lag fix it used its not recommended and may be causing data corruption
I have said it plenty of times before, and I will continue to preach....I recommend flashing back to stock and master clear to troubleshoot. That will give you assurance that you will start on a fresh clean slate, as far as bugs/data corruption/bad configurations. Obviously you will want to back up all of your data first. After you flash back and master clear, don't do anything else to it other than installing regular apps from the market to see how it runs. If it continues to act up, then you know you have hardware issues. If it fixes it, then you know you had something going on with your config or data corruption.
Whats your build number? If it is one of the 1007 builds then you may be able to get a warranty exchange for the reboots.
Getting noticeable improvement as far as Quadrant benchmarks go doesn't always = better
Here's the really odd thing, pulling the battery and rebooting seems to clear the issue for a few days. A plain reboot won't. I alternate between 2 batteries, both OEM. I've never cleared the battery stats. Could it be an issue with one or both batteries? It always seems to happen shortly after taking the phone off the charger.
If you haven't already, you can try recalibrating your battery. But the route I would take is flashing back to stock using odin one click. It doesn't take very long and it will rule out alot of things

Yup...I agree...and I would start with a 100% clean slate..and not use any data from any previous time..Flash a good kernel..a good modem..apply the gps fix of your choice..and enjoy..Trying to use parts of a stock rom..is self defeating...wither or not you get uber high benchmarks or not...You may want to stay with some type of stock build..but you IMHO your better off going with a I9000 rom/kernel/modem...Anything that is even close to stock AT&T is junk as far as I know.

It really doesn't even take a few hours to back up and restore. I have an 8gb external sd card full of music, photos and videos and over 200 apps stored internally and it takes me 10-15 mins if that using titanium backup pro for apps . You don't have to restore jh7 but it might be a good idea to do so if that's what your phone had out of the box.

Typically restoring normal apps you get from the market will not cause you grief. But what can cause you grief is backing up and restoring mods, system data, configuration data etc. The goal is to create a totally unhacked unmodded totally stock experience to isolate and possibly identify what could be causing problems

and OCLF.... dont forget that OCLF causes PAIN!
I need my phone tomorrow for work, so I'll settle for just uninstalling OCLF for now. Maybe Friday or Saturday I can sit down and "go back." I don't remember if the phone had JH7 or if I updated it OTA when I first got it, but that's what it has been running almost since day 1. Is there an Odin for JH7?
No there isn't but heres a thread on how to install it...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790080&page=20
You will need to download jh7_ota.zip.
Basically, after you flash back to stock, you have to install clockworkmod recovery, place the zip file on your internal memory, boot into clockworkmod recovery and choose to install the zip file. I actually did this the other day to see if it actually works, because my phone came with jh7 out of the box.
PS...if you kept the box your phone came with, it will show near the barcodes if your phone came with JH7 or JF6
Box says JF6, so I must have upgraded it. Don't remember doing it, though. What's wrong with just using the Odin for JF6 and letting the phone do the OTA for JH7?
One click lag fix sucks.

hey, so maybe you can help. i turn my phone off today because it was dying, thought i save that last 10 for the 30 minutes before closing at work, just in case i need it. turn on, and boom. everything like new, had to assign google account, and then even though all apps were still there, they all force close, constantly, no matter what. what should i do? i made a back up, did a wipe and restored, but still the same. will i HAVE to re-install gc v2 (my rom) and just restore the crap individually with TB? =[=[=[ this is random and extremely aggravating. so:
*NO, I DID NOT RECENTLY DL AND APP OR MAKE ANY CHANGES*
*NO, THERE WAS NO UPDATE*
ive had this rom for a while now... wtf?
I had the same problem a week ago, you're gonna have to reflash. That's what I did, and of course, it worked. Idk why it does that. It is very frustrating. Since then I've told titanuium backup to do a backup once a week.

Looking for an app to remove the un-uninstallable apps that come with the Triumph. I rooted my phone, but have not installed any ROMs. I prefer the stock ROM at this time.
Titanium backup. Just be wary and make a back up of everything first. a lot of un-uninstallable apps are needed for the phone to operate properly. Like my phone needs the stock music player for Bluetooth to function correctly.

+1 on Titanium Backup, I've always used Root Uninstaller but it's getting a bit silly (in terms of ads, hoops to jump through, etc). And I'm pretty sure TB can uninstall anything. Heck, it even has a silent mode.
Thanks guys, I had tried Titanium Backup to first remove AirG chat. It warned of the force removal and I tried anyway. It looked like it was it was going through the motions then rebooted, but the app was still there and even opened!

I don't think that's supposed to happen! Reboot? What the... heck. You have to be rooted to use that app, and it checks for everything else too...
Try Root Uninstaller? Or just using a root explorer (File Expert is a good free one), mounting /system as read-write, and then deleting AirG's app manually? (Or just moving it to the SD card for safekeeping?
I'm rooted so I don't know what happened, I'll try root installer.

Honestly, I was hesitant to try a custom rom and tried using Titanium to remove bloatware, but after backing up my stock image in clockwork and giving TG-Reloaded a try, I can honestly say I never plan on going back. No bloatware, Gingerbread (which adds more than you would think), great support from Wyzor (it's creator), and better battery life. There's really no reason not to give it a try. If you dislike it, just revert to your stock backup and call it a day.
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but could you point me in the right direction on how to root this phone? I just got mine today and would love to remove some of the crap VM puts on here.

http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/455603-guide-rooting-your-motorola-triumph.html
I rooted my triumph this weekend using the Terminal emulator method that b-randon14 came up with, I found out about it by watching a youtube video called motorola triumph terminal root easy method. very clear instruction and went off like a charm! Its easy! But back on point, you will need to root your phone and then install titanium backup to access the files and remove the bloatware. I removed all of it with no ill effects and my phone is way faster!

yes, its most likely the rom itself, inside the coding of your phone is a build file which lets whatever your phone is connecting to see what phone it actually is
our device isnt listed as being compatiable with alot of games and apps, even tho it should be
so as you may have seen yourself the marketplace on a pc shows you more apps and games then the marketplace on the phone itself, by editing the build file to make it show as a different device(in ur case a nexus) opens the market on the phone itself to show much more apps and games and such to download, altho all of them may not work correctly alot of them will
ive never run with the miui, but if you want a good rom and like the CM7 line of roms id say check out the G60Style Final, everything except hdmi works of course lol
wifi and bt still disable deep sleep but having them both on should no longer max out cpu or cause reboots
also the best thing for removing stock crapware in my opinion was listed and linked on page 1 somewhere, the stock app removal tool
Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker first time poster. I've gotten into flashing about 2-3 months ago and a whole new world opened up for me. The ROM I like the most so far is Liquid Smooth RC9 with the gapps from RC8. No issues with the camera or video recording here at all.
I do have an issue with the phone process, though. Every time when my screen is locked and someone calls me they get it to ring a few times before the call ends, while my phone does absolutely nothing. If the screen is on, I do get the incoming call but a message pops up saying that com.android.phone stopped working. I've tried 4 clean flashes so far and they all do this, so I know it wasn't a bad flash. My baseband is the stock UCLF6 and the kernel is 3.0.49 cyannogenmod.
Does anyone know how to fix this? It sucks to have a phone that can't call lol
(P.S. I've searched the forums but I didn't find anything, I apologize if this has been asked before.)
Find out if other people are having the same problem on the same rom/gapps
If they arent your clean flashes arent clean enough
If they are then make sure the dev of the rom knows and wait for an update to fix it or switch roms
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I had the problem, too. It was the reason I stopped using RC9. But, my radio was UCLF5.
I came to Liquid from SkyICS I think. Wiped cache and data as well as formatted system a few times before flashing. I didn't follow the developer's instructions to the letter, though. I restored the data on a few of my apps via Titanium. So if you used Titanium, perhaps you might try not using it if you flash again?
Would also love to know if someone has a solution to this. It was a great rom other than that issue.
I had the same problem and went through everything. My solution: settings - apps - go to phone then clear data. Don't worry nothing will be deleted only your call log.

Yeah I actually did use Titanium Backup, which might indeed be the culprit. Now I think about it, the phone was working just fine because I made a phone call to my wife right after flashing, then after getting all my apps back on there it just stopped working. And one of those apps was TB which was also used to restore some other apps.
The clearing of the phone data seems like an excellent idea as well, wish I'd have thought of that.
I ended up ditching Liquid Smooth and flashing a CM10 nightly with the working Google Now. If I go back to Liquid Smooth I'll try the above suggestions and post back here if those work
Thanks for the replies guys.

I also have RC9 with UCLF6 and many times when I answer a call it auto hangs up. My messenger stops working semi-frequently as well. IMO, try clearing the phone data and flash Liquid Smooth, especially if you get bad battery life with CM10 as I did.

Hey, so about two weeks ago I had to get my M8 repaired. The battery was essentially shot, and the micro usb port was messed up. Could rarely get the phone to charge when it was plugged in, and it'd often drain more power than it was taking in.
Anyway, I picked up the phone yesterday and it crashed once I started to try using it. I figured it was just an issue with the rom (forget what I had on it), and decided to mess with it when I got home that night. So I get home and start trying to get the phone to work. It would always get stuck at the white "HTC One" screen. I'd reboot to recovery, wipe it, and restore from a previous backup, but it'd keep happening. I tried various backups and nothing would get past that white screen until I finally tried my original backup of the stock OS. That finally got me through and the phone is functional now. But when I booted it up, no messages came through.
My phone was off for two weeks, and I know people sent me texts during that time, but they're not showing up. I thought maybe the techs had received the texts, but when I opened messenger there weren't any recent texts, just ones from before I got my phone repaired.
Any idea why these texts aren't coming through, and how to get them? I'd like to know if anything important was sent during the past two weeks.
Wait, I think I'm just an idiot. The texts would have came through while they were testing the phone, so they wouldn't pop up as notifications when I first got it back. Then it crashed and got stuck in a bootloop, so I wiped and restored from a previous backup. Since I wasn't able to do any backups before the wipe, that would have wiped the texts I received.
Damn, that sucks. Is there anyway I could get them back?
