And I just wanted to know, I'm unusually a AOSP rom guy.. But I see a lot of great sense roms out, what are the differences? I know what VU has to offer but what about Undead's roms? What are the differences they offer?

Undead has two great. Aosp roms. Senseless and agent orange.
Android open source project roms are based off of pure source code untouched by carriers and factory manufacturers.
While sense and the term pink are both htcs and t mobiles addidtions to google source.
I'm was a big supporter of sense. But I love agent orange. You can check out my sig for a list of the aosp roms and sense.

Iknow the differences and I have looked at all of these..I was just looking for some user input as to what the main differences are between Crack Injected sense by Undead aand VU
I am using Undead senseless and very happy with it, in my opinion its the best rom for Doubleshot right now. I have used VU for two weeks and there's still a couple of issue but the good thing about this rom is the VU features that comes with it and hopefully if the small issue got fix it will be an awesome Rom . I haven't tried the newest crack injected but my experience with Senseless it should be a very good rom too.
Both of this rom are still Sense based.

No, senseless is a sense ROM, no bloat, great battery, fully functional.
I was much happier with my phone after rooting and getting senseless.
If you want to overclock, use unity v2 or unity v1, just don't clock too low As u might get random reboots.
The stock kernel is recommended because nothing else is stable

Ok time for me to intervine, my senseless ROM is sense based with most sense aspects removed and merged with aosp and cm7 commits and code. It's the closest to aosp you will get without losing the amazing sense camera. My absolution port is based on cm7 code. Which is aosp on speed and tweaked to hell.

What would you classify it as undeadk9. I have it under aosp in the sticky(senseless)? is that correct? I know its not 100% sense as I went back to sense on crack. For the record

Really? That's crazy I never knew that. So I do adore AOSP.
I'm just curious what does your Crack injected ROM have that this senseless or VU doesn't..
Obviously there are differences in the senseless as it is like an AOSP hybrid

Try flashing a rom once a week test it out. We can sit here day and night explaining things to you. pick one out, if you dont like flash another.
Its easy to do, then make nandroids, they are saved in order. We have like 6 roms, you can have them all nandroided and switch at ease.

i would love a sense rom on this phone! not a fan of gb or cm7. they are good roms but sense is nice and even if takes resources the g2x has plenty to spare, wouldnt affect much on it. my hd2 ran sense beautifully and as bad ass a phone as it was it wasnt quite the powerhouse i have now. sense would be nice addition to the rom dev for those of us who enjoy that type of ui.

+1 To this. A wide range of roms for a wide range of people is what we need on a phone. Sense brings a lot of features that stock doesn't have and an ease of use that people like. I'm looking forward to sense on the g2x,and miui, and gs2 twiz, etc. bring on the variety!
i would like to test different roms on this phone. i like miui, gingerbread, aosp, and sense. You know what i dont like STOCK. so lets bring whatever roms we can get to our side. Heck yeah I would want sense. CM7 is nice. If they get sense ported on here, I bet it will be faster than the sensation. The sensation only gets like 1300 in quadrant. Don't give me that quadrant isn't optimized for gingerbread cause it is. I'm sure this phone would be like 2000 via quadrant with sense added

I love CM7 but when I wanna show off to my buddies I'll flash a sense rom. So 95% of the time CM7 will be installed. I just like having alot of rom options. Also as many roms/kernels as possible.

they both about the same really, nice job to both dev who put their effort in, venom rom is without sense in it he sub with launcher pro ex i think.... and the other rom still has the sense stuff, but u can put launcher pro ex on it from market, so its really up to u my friend

That depends on what you want. CK23's venom ROM removes Sense and gives you a more bare-bones Android experience while undead's edited ROM is more of a stock Sense feel with bloat removed. Both show noticeable improvement over stock. What I'd REALLY love is a stock Sense 3.0 - not the doubleshot version - like from the sensation, with the customizable lockscreen and other goodies. I think with time everything will become available. I was just in the Sensation forums doing some poking around and they've got a lot of options now that their phone has been out for several months!

You'll be fine, I average flashing about a dozen CWM recoveries a day, some days more. It's the only way to get a cold start on the GPS for sure in the same location over and over again while keeping the phone as close to stock as possible. That doesn't count straight up factory resets, either. Trying to make my gps research work for as many people as possible, not just those of us who rooted.

well you could try MIUI, or CM7 (all in the development forums) but my FAVORITE AND MOST RECOMMENDED ROM is virtuous unity sense 3.0 if you haven't already. yes, i know it's sense, and i understand you hate sense, but really, you HAVE to try it. BEST and FASTEST rom out there for the MT4G, and lots of mods for it too. you should really check it out.

I've never been much for the whole fact that "its uncostomizable" and that's all I have ever heard about sense... can you explain to me if it really is limited? Because I like the open-ness of CM and such. I'll give it a try as I probably will all of them. Just kind of wondering what I would get into with this sense rom?

it actually is very customizable. check out the mods thread in the development section for virtuous unity.
there are many themes, tweaks, mods, and if you don't like any of them, you can always make a mod yourself using the UOT kitchen.

Yeah there's roms in the dev section simply go there and check it out.
It may not a "True Non-Sense" ROM approach, but you can always strip all of the sense out of one of the so called "Stable" Sense 3.0 ROMs and then customize it to your liking. NoSense++ or RomCleaner will really help to strip much of the Sense from the ROM. That's been my route till CM7, Xboarder, Melvin and all the other AOSP/CM DEVs can get some of the last few bugs worked out.

You can use apps of the market to do that. We have cm, virtrous, sense and aosp roms. Undead has some on rootzwiki as well.
Why dont you try making your own its not to hard. More of a time vampire than anything.

Start by going to Themes & Apps and reading my guide on how to customize the lockring.
It'll teach you how to extract - edit - replace some of the files in an .apk file.
Part 2 and 3 of the 3 part guide will teach the rest of how to decompile-recompile apps, I know it's based around graphics, but the same principle works for other files as well.
Part 2 is what's going to teach you how to get at the xml, smali an so forth files in the compiled .apk file - now that i've slept this week I should be able to have it done in a few hours. (yea...just woke up, so gotta get the blurries out of my eyes.)
If you want to make a Sense ROM, go download Pauls de-odexed stock ROM in the dev section and use that as your base. That's the base Bulletproof is built from.
Give me a few hours and i'll have a pretty good roadmap set up for ya.

The thing is like was said more than half the ROMS are still just different themes...they are all Mysense ROMS....if someone could make a Kernel around here....we would have those..no one has made a stable over clocked kernel yet....and if someone could start working on a Sense 3.5 Kernel we could get a sense 3.5 ROM....my programming language skills is lacking but we have devs maybe they have know how to work on kernels...
