Visual Voicemail Apk - Motorola Atrix 2

I pulled the visual voicemail apk from the HTC Vivid and GSII Skyrocket, but I cannot get it to install on my Atrix II. Any ideas? I am provisioned for the Visual Voicemail service but it is useless on the atrix 2 atm.
You can dl the .apk here.
http://db.tt/YrWOD1Fd

the manifest will need to be changed, the apk will then need to be recompiled and signed
however, i don't think it will work even after that. it looks like (haven't decrypted it to know for sure) that it relies on other system services.

Try YouMail

I use YouMail for Visual Voicemail and it works well.

I use Google Voice, can't be beat IMO.

Sprint VVM for CM6 Working HERO and EVO

Probably not the right place but want to mke sure it gets seen. If it doesn't apply to you then don't respond.
I recently purhased an Evo rooted and installed CM6. I prefer Sprint VVM so started looking for a fix or workaround. I found a post from MagnusRagnarok here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731637&highlight=vvm and gave it a shot. I now have VVM on my Evo working.
On my wife's Hero I wanted to install CM6 but knew she would have to have Sprint VVM. So decided to give it a shot and try the same APK for Evo CM6. Much to my surprise it worked on her Hero as well.
This worked for me using the same file on both phones. Cant be certain it will work for you, however give it a shot and post results.
The file can be found: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=362919&d=1279525560
I take no credit for anything other than trying this out and posting my result. I give credit to the source of the original post. Thanks and happy VVMing...
Dont forget you need to go into menu>call settings>voicemail... make sure it's set to "my carrier" and edit the number to reflect you own.
This will cause provision error...
Sorry
about to try now.....man if this works!!!!
Just thought I'd tell everyone I downloaded this right from my hero, used androzip to install and it worked perfect. Thanks

Rebooting didn't do anything. Apparently VVM works via textmesages. Because I can see them when a voicemail comes in (though nothing ever shows up in the VVM app).

Can we get this made into a flashable zip?

I'll have to try it with EStrongs then. Also on the EVO the icon is new like a black google voice icon. On the Hero it is the old voicemail icon.

I used handcent and just blacklist the sources of the textmessages. You have to do this if you use Sprint VVM on Darchdroid 2.7 also.

Hmm. I tried blocking 9016 (the source of the texts for me) on Sprint's website but doing that stops VVM from getting its notifications.

Verizon Visual Voicemail and Custom Roms

It used to be enough to change build prop from:
ro.HorizontalVVM = true
ro.HorizontalBUA = true
to
#ro.HorizontalVVM = true
#ro.HorizontalBUA = true
reboot and install Verzon Visual Voicemail (VVM) from the market.
now to get it to work I had to do that.
And with VVM gone from the market I found it to download online. vzw, vvm.apk version 1.0.19 installed it.
Then rebooted. Then called *22899 to update the PRL.
Then if it only shows Voicemails, but won't download
I went into the Voicemail preferences and changed save vm's to External storage instead of internal, reboot. and it started working like ten minutes later.
OK all the info above is from various posts here at XDA. and I just put it all together in one post for anyone who's had the same issues I did. Thank you to whom supplied the info to me.

You shouldn't comment out (#) the
ro.HorizontalVVM = true
ro.HorizontalBUA = true
Instead change the "true'" to "false"
You dont need to do the *22899 to get vvm working its unrelated but it dosen't hurt anything.
As for the verizon vvm app, it never did anything but cause me problems. From not syncing for new vm's to not downloading messages, and fc'ing. I perfer the motorola vvm from the droid x anyways. It looks sleeker works perfect, and has always been reliable.
Motorola visual voicemail v1.0

Changing the settings in VVM to external storage seemed to be the missing link to get it to work when it wouldn't download the messages it showed.

Thanks! I have a Droid X that I put a new rom on and couldn't find anywhere to download the Voicemail's apk again from since it was preloaded. Installed from the link provided, works great again, no configuration needed, just open the app after it installs and provide your voicemail password after accepting the tos.

AT&T Visual voicemail

I flashed the t-mobile rom and it won't let me install AT&T visual voicemail saying the device isn't compatible. I was wondering if any of you guys can upload the APK for me. Thanks
I think this is it!
Won't install on beastmod for me, pushing to system/app and changing permissions won't install either. Boo
I have visual voicemail installed but no messages appear on the app. Its just blank. It was working before I changed my APN... Anybody else visual voicemail not working?

I beloved this happens because the apk files looks at the build.prop file to see if its a vivid or a skyrocket. I have been trying to.install the file to my OG GS2 to no avail. Maybe somebody could edit the apk to make it work on others devices.

Visual Voicemail will only work or install with the pta or phone APN.
I have the PTA apn, still no go
I'm using PTA APN and have even gone as far as editing the build.prop to match the settings in the stock AT&T ROM. Still no go. Market even recognizes it as the correct device.

I tracked down an apk awhile back for it that worked on every rom I've used. Even cm7 and revenge of mcnut. I passed it on to sean to include with cyanotouchwiz. Go to the cyanotouchwiz thread, and in the OP its attached at the bottom. Use app installer from the market to install it.
I would just like to make a note that I never got a voicemail while on mcnut so I can't say for that but it installed.
Sorry if this seems nooby but I've only used google voice for my voicemails is visual voicemail any good and how do they differ?

flashed synergy rom and lost visual voice mail

i tried asking this in synergy rom tread but wasnt allowed acces for that yet and wasnt able to post.
i flashed the recent synergy rom 1.3 and has been debloated and in the process lost the native visual voice mail. tried downloading the removed apk folder and installing that way and found it had a .odex file that i couldnt do anything with. i also tryed combining the apk and odex file but had no idea what to do with java and baksmali and smali, whether i do this on the phone itself or on pc.
is there a simple way loading the apk and odex or if there is an apk already combined available.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

it's a verizon thing. they charge like 1.99 a month IIRC for it.
The Verizon variant, along with most of the others, comes with a carrier supplied visual voicemail app that you must opt in to in order to access your voicemails from the app, instead of calling for it. I pay for mine, so I would like very much to get it back on my phone. Any help would make my day!
Um... Use Google voice. Superior to Verizon visual voice mail in every way.

Visual Voice Mail for AOSP [Need Help]

I'm trying to get Verizon Visual Voicemail working on CM10 on SGS3. I have 3 different apk's:
Verizon's Visual Voicemail from the market (pulled from my DInc)
Verizon's Visual Voicemail Nexus from the market (after a few build.prop edits)
Stock Touchwiz Visual Voicemail (Thanks to NoSympathy)
Both market versions install without a problem, but have connection timeouts when trying to verify my vvm subscription.
The Touchwiz version won't even install.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm digging through the apk's to try and find why both market versions time out.
I would try stuff from the gnex since it is built for AOSP

You are correct, however - I think what con's trying to refer you to is what I'd try first - go online and search "verizon galaxy nexus visual voicemail apk", find it, download it, transfer to your phone, and install from "unknown souce". It may work right off the bat, but it may not also. If not, it sure will give you a good starting point with where to go with it since A) its already build for AOSP and B) already built to communicate with the Verizon network.
Good luck!
Rather than beating your head in trying to get it to work you could save the 3 or 4 bucks a month and just use Google voice, is kind of irritating through the initial setup but in the end works well and does the same thing. Just my 0.02

Could you post the apk for the Stock one? I've been trying to get my hands on it since synergy ROM doesn't have it included and now I can't even see any of the voicemail apps in the market. Short of flashing back to stock ripping it and then re-flashing the ROM I don't know how else to get ahold of it lol.

With the Droid Incredible I had to do these steps to get Verizons visual voice mail to work with CM7.2
Use file manager and go to "/system"
Mount the folder R/W(Read/Write
open build.prop in Text Editor
look for "ro.horizontalVvvm = True" and chenge it to False
look for "ro.horizontalBUA = True" and change it to False
save your edit, and back out to thr "/system" folder. Once again switch the directory back to R/O, exit your apps and reboot.
You shoulkd now be able to install your Vvm.apk without it telling you to uninstall it because one is already installed.
Note I am using Virtuous rom however it should work for most roms I would imagine.
If you do not have a Vvm.apk here is one from the Droid X but it works great on my incredible. Looks almost like the stock incredible version.

The stock vvm app installs fine, it just hangs while trying to verify the subscription. I thought it might have been the ro.horizontal.vvm line in the build.prop like on cm7, but that line wasn't even in there. I added it just to see and it made no difference. I switched to Google voice and I'm loving how it integrates directly into the phone app instead of having to run a separate vvm app. Thanks for the post.
Btw, anyone wanting the stock tw or old Verizon apk, feel free to pm me and ill send it to you.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Even when it was working on tw, no. Google voice is infinitely better, especially once you have it incorporated into the aosp phone app. The voice mails show up in your call log. Only problem is had was recording my greeting. After the initial setup, it's totally seamless.

otherwise I'd use google voice. Unles there is a way to turn that off.
