I have a problem With my Triumph. The camera will not work. I have tried all roms available to no avail. it force closes or says the camera has stopped responding. I am confused by this. Should I just return this?
I would. Especially if it wasn't working with the stock ROM.
That would have been my first step actually, unless you're one of those gurus who actually installed a rom before you tried the camera on stock
Either way though, return it.
I had a similar problem with cm7. It worked at first then it kept crashing. I rebooted my phone then it worked.

Anyone else having this issue. My camera isnt working no matter what I try. When I hit the camera icon it goes into a black screen and stays there. Only button that works after that point is the home button.
So far I've tried virusrom, bamf, and 2 different sense kernals. I even restored a nandroid I had from March and it still does the same thing.
I dont know what cause this but it just happened one day. I noticed it last saturday when I tried to use it. Anyone know of a fix if any?
I had a similar problem with my front facing camera. I went into applications, selected All, clicked on camera and cleared the cache. It fixed my problem. Hope it works for you.

As a last resort, go back to stock and see if it still happens, if so, it's a hardware problem and you can call up VZW and get them to ship you a replacement.
Should I unroot the phone or just go to a stock Rom.

did you try clearing the camera app data and cache?
I would go to the MR1 OTA. At least then if it doesn't work after that, you don't have to do anything to take it in or send it back.
Clear it. Do it.
have the same problem. i even went back to stock. unrooted the phone. still dont work. verizon will replace it under warranty. just make sure everything is stock.
My camera stopped working randomly, when i try and load the camera it looks like its jsut taking awhile to load, then i get a message saying activity camera (in application camera) is not responding. I'm not sure whats wrong, any ideas?
Which rom are u using on your phone?

just got cyanogen mod 7
Is it a ROM Flash issue?
That is: have you tried re-flashing CM7?
When did you flash CM7 in relation to noticing your camera doesn't work?
Did it ever work since you flashed CM7 or did you just notice it?
Is it an application issue?
That is: have you tried a different camera from the market?
Have you tried installing the camera (included in CM7) again?
Is it a hardware issue?
That is: have you visually inspected the camera? Dropped the phone? Stepped on (or otherwise significantly compress) the phone?
SOME information other than "Hey yo, my camera no worky." would really help out.
Sorry for the lack of description, i think it might just be a hardware issue because i first noticed it stopped working randomly when i had Juicy rom on then i flashed a rom that didnt work and then finally got CM7 and it worked great but the camera issue is still affecting it. I have tried taking pictures on different camera apps and i still get that same error screen. I dont know what other info to provide, i think its just broke thanks for helping!
Happened to me once and kinda scared me a bit lol All I kept getting was a black screen no matter what camera app I used even factory reset didn't fix it. What worked for me was to go completely clean and flash the RUU gingerbread update from AT&T.

Ok, Hey Everyone, I'm kinda new to these forums, I have a question, one that has been bugging me a while now.
First off I had a cyanogenmod rom, I think it was 6.1. Then after a while I decided to Un-Root my G1, and go back to stock, so I did. But when I went back to stock I noticed that my camera would always force closes, I can't get into it. It happens all the time.
Then I tried Rooting again, and I flashed this rom called "GinSense" (a very fast and stable rom) by Rushness, But still my camera force closes. I really do not now why because it can't really be my kernal (which sometimes causes camera to force close) because when I un-rooted it would have been back to stock also.
Please I hope someone can help me, its really got me confused, so I turned to you guys.
I hope this way the right place for my post.
Get a new phone
But not knowing the exact procedure that you used to go back to stock, you still might have not flashed the kernel or something else could be wrong. I would try using the instructions here. If you have already tried that, it wouldn't hurt to try it again.
If that doesn't work, when the camera force closes, were you able to at least get into the camera app for a few seconds and see if the camera was actually working before it FC'ed? I know with my G1 (long long ago), I had an issue with the camera and it was the connection on the sensor going to the board.
You might be able to have better luck posting here. I see another user has posted about his camera not working either here. Search next time, it really comes in handy.
Thanks

Ok, Thanks for your reply. I will try the instruction on that link and post back. No when I enter my camera I see nothing but a black screen then it tells me to force close about 5 seconds later.
Edit : BTW Can a dev move my post or something, as well I don't want to get hated on for creating a second post about the same thing? xD

Yeah, I was thinking on doing this, but for me that rom goes unstable after about a month or 2, so its just a waste of time.
This rom I have now runs so smooth I don't really want to change
Ok, So after un-rooting, re-rooting, trying different kernals, and everything, it still doesn't work.
I think it must be hardware.
What rom are you running?

GinSense

I'm running GinSense 1.0, but after Un-Rooting and it still not working, So I currently have my phone opened up infront of me, to see if there is anything wrong I'm video taping it xD I don't know why.
Is there any more custom roms? Maybe they are just buggy

Yay
OMG, It actually worked, So it was a hardware problem, I think it may have been a lose cable, because I pulled the camera cable out and put it back in. Couldn't believe it actually worked.
That's good man, glad you fixed it

Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker first time poster. I've gotten into flashing about 2-3 months ago and a whole new world opened up for me. The ROM I like the most so far is Liquid Smooth RC9 with the gapps from RC8. No issues with the camera or video recording here at all.
I do have an issue with the phone process, though. Every time when my screen is locked and someone calls me they get it to ring a few times before the call ends, while my phone does absolutely nothing. If the screen is on, I do get the incoming call but a message pops up saying that com.android.phone stopped working. I've tried 4 clean flashes so far and they all do this, so I know it wasn't a bad flash. My baseband is the stock UCLF6 and the kernel is 3.0.49 cyannogenmod.
Does anyone know how to fix this? It sucks to have a phone that can't call lol
(P.S. I've searched the forums but I didn't find anything, I apologize if this has been asked before.)
Find out if other people are having the same problem on the same rom/gapps
If they arent your clean flashes arent clean enough
If they are then make sure the dev of the rom knows and wait for an update to fix it or switch roms

I had the problem, too. It was the reason I stopped using RC9. But, my radio was UCLF5.
I came to Liquid from SkyICS I think. Wiped cache and data as well as formatted system a few times before flashing. I didn't follow the developer's instructions to the letter, though. I restored the data on a few of my apps via Titanium. So if you used Titanium, perhaps you might try not using it if you flash again?
Would also love to know if someone has a solution to this. It was a great rom other than that issue.
I had the same problem and went through everything. My solution: settings - apps - go to phone then clear data. Don't worry nothing will be deleted only your call log.

Yeah I actually did use Titanium Backup, which might indeed be the culprit. Now I think about it, the phone was working just fine because I made a phone call to my wife right after flashing, then after getting all my apps back on there it just stopped working. And one of those apps was TB which was also used to restore some other apps.
The clearing of the phone data seems like an excellent idea as well, wish I'd have thought of that.
I ended up ditching Liquid Smooth and flashing a CM10 nightly with the working Google Now. If I go back to Liquid Smooth I'll try the above suggestions and post back here if those work
Thanks for the replies guys.

I also have RC9 with UCLF6 and many times when I answer a call it auto hangs up. My messenger stops working semi-frequently as well. IMO, try clearing the phone data and flash Liquid Smooth, especially if you get bad battery life with CM10 as I did.

Camera stopped workng but everything else works fine. Has anyone ever experienced this? The phone got wet about a month ago but was dried out and everything seemed to be working fine. Don't take that many pictures. At first I thought an app called hdr camera was bad but today I noticed that the regular camera doesn't work either. Also noticed that when I was trying to write this message the spell checker kept trying to put in "Guevara " and "Siberia "
Bummer. That's about all the help I can give with the info you provided. lol
Thanks for the help. I haven't tried wiping and reinstalling the rom. Its just the old Valhalla gb rom.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
LOL. I guess I should have given you time to edit it. Try going to manage apps then force stopping camera. Back out and try the camera again. Is this happening on more than one ROM?
Wipe cache,wipe dalvic,fix permissions.
And or settings/manage applications/all applications/camera...clear data.
Best I can think of
