sholdn't this be in the Q&A?
I was wondering if there was a way that I could change the music on my galaxy tab 2 7.0 usig my Tmobile galaxy s3. I don't have wifi so if I could use bluetooth or by using my phone as a hot spot that would be great.

Try using droidmote. Install the client on your phone and the server on your tab. You can use it while tethering to your tab.

I'm going to try that now.. thatns go the tip. I already tether to it and use tablet talk while tethering, thanks to there latest update

I tried that and just could not get it to work, and but then I found tablet remote... It uses blue tooth, and the main reason I wanted it is to change media while my tablet is connected to the radio

To get it to work you need to put the ip address in the client on the phone. The server on the tab will display the numbers you need

This is suddenly showing up under dun nai. It was blank. Is this new in ice? It wasn't there immediately following the update.

Dun is dial up networking which identifies your device when you use tethering. I remember having to disable dun back on the dinc2 but I don't know if it is still necessary.

I was thinking when tethering was free on the thunderbolt that string was in place under dun but that they removed it with one of the first updates. Anyway, it is showing up there now for whatever reason.

They may be trying to monitor tethering again for whatever reason.

Isn't that service free now? I thought the share plan included tethering.

I'm not on a share plan. I'm still on nationwide with unlimited therefore I have to pay for tether.

If this ever becomes a problem, I remember being able to flash back to a pre-July 2011 stock ROM to get free, legit tethering back, not that I would use HTC Mobile Hotspot over vanilla Android wireless tethering =)
But yeah recall the July 2011 update that updated the Mobile Hotspot app so that it would not work without your being a tethering plan subscriber, Verizon's cool like that.

I pay for mobile hotspot. That's why it showing up baffles me. Maybe its supposed to be like that, I don't know. I read where someone mentioned that was what it was supposed to show prior to the update that removed tether. I am on stock ics at this time.

If tethering works, I wouldn't worry.

Yeah, its cool.

How come nothing will connect to the HTC wifi tether app?

Boost doesn't allow it. I use clockworkmod when I tether. Only downside, it requires a usb cord and the application installed on both phone and PC. But, its affective, and at relatively fast speeds.
