A non-rooted device?
Oh, I am rooted...
Looking for a zip format file that I can flash in recovery.
All the themes I have seen seem to be for CM and Enomther...
Any that I can use?
On ERE27...
second this request. Also running updated stock rom, only with modacos superboot with himem. But would love a theme, maybe it's not possible?
Bumping (sorry if I'm not supposed to do this on an old thread)
Since Gingerbread is probably coming out next week (google got the big ol gingerbread man for the front lawn friday) I want to stay stock for now so I can get my OTA update when it comes.
I am missing my black notification bar though....Any way to do this on the stock rom?

Probable the ONLY thing you cannot theme on stock is Notification bar and stock apps...They do something called ODEX on the files that cannot be modified unless DE-ODEXED...otherwise must have root to theme..sorry!

Well I am rooted and I was messing around with root explorer, just looking around, and I noticed in the system/app/ folder there are many .ODEX files corresponding to .apk files. Could I just delete or modify these files on the framework .apk to be able to theme?
Sorry if this is a noob question. I am trying to learn more about the inner workings of the system before I mess with things.

I wish, there are many other things needed to de-odex the files. Search the developers forum for the steps. I think someone made a way to make it easier. I would just use rom manager to download the de-odexed stock rom!
Edit: Rom manager only has odexed stock roms.
Anybody have the Vibrant so you can extract the live wallpapers for us to install?
here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709175&highlight=galaxy
Search is your friend.
P.S. They are in the Market also.
sorry I should have clarified. I know of the 4 from Glaxy, but Vibrant has a couple others that are not part of the Galaxy S wallpapers.
+1 to this. i really want the luminescense LWP
is it possible that these could be modified for htc hero, i can't get these to run at all :/,

i also love how people say they got the sims out of that dump but theres no sims apk anywhere to be found.
i would also like the samsung luminescence LWP apk if anyone can rip it out
i took the wallpaper out and tried to install it but it's a no go. someone will have to mod the apk.
link to the luminesesnse LWP files:
apk: http://www.mediafire.com/?023wgvpauee929p
odex: http://www.mediafire.com/?78l3am7ht7vp11e
taken right from the dump. will not install on CM5.08 on N1 so they'll need to be modded a bit.

K firstly the dump has to be deodexed.
Heres the dump i deodexed a while back. Link
Then u need to either resign the apk and see if that works, or edit the manifest.xml to remove the shared uid if it has a shared uid and then resign and install.
Use apk manager from my signature if ur new to this concept.

That ocean waves one is super cool I wish I could use it. But my poor old nexus doesn't stand a chance. I'd like to see how it runs on that Samsung hummingbird though.
You can run the Ocean Waves on an N1. Not well, but it runs. I understand it lags even on the Galaxy S.
Dandelion/Sea/et al are pretty okay, though.
A little boredom..
I decided to poke around and i figured it out flash this works perfectly on my evo so it should work for you guys too:

Same here.
I figured it out. I installed the apks in the zip file and then used Root Explore to move the files to /system/lib and rebooted the phone and then the live walls worked including Luminescence

Here are 2 very useful links from my personal android dev bookmarks. Hope this may help you
http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-themes/4620-how-manually-deodex-your-phone.html
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
thanks for the links i got the xUltimate from the first one, but still is normal to output Jar files instead of APK files?
should i just rename them from jar to apk?
The kitchen does a better job deodexing, it gives me .apk and not .jar
Nice
Would someone be kind enough to upload the mms.apk from the ICS leak to this thread? I lost mine trying to install a replacement (stupid, I know, I know). I'd really appreciate it. I'm using GoSMS right now, which works fine as a replacement, but I'd prefer to use stock.
Thanks so much.

Were you trying to install the CM7 mms apk?
Yeah, I tried a couple of them. None of them worked. They would just freeze up no matter what I did (freboot, fix permissions, wipe dalvik cache, etc). I guess I would need the .apk and the .odex as well, if anyone would be kind enough to upload them.
MMS as in multimedia message?
as in not the SMS app? Curious if these are different?
Yeah, the SMS app. The default text messaging app.
here is the mms app, tell me where the odex app is and ill upload it for you too

Thanks so much! The odex should be in the system/apps folder.

tell me exactly where, theres no odex.apk if thats what im looking for?
I was assuming that there would be an mms.odex which accompanied the mms.apk. Every app has an .apk and an .odex (that is if the ROM is not deodexed). I'm using ES File Explorer and I navigate to...
Favorites--> Phone--> System--> App--> There should be an mms.apk which you already uploaded and I assumed there'd be an mms.odex as well.
i dont see one, the rom im using is deodexed i guess...
Not a problem. I appreciate the effort. Thanks so much.
Would anyone else be willing to upload the mms.odex file?

Try flashing MyFrame + Asus File Manager and if still doesn't work it means that some other dependencies are missing.
do you think it would cause problems if I were to flash the entire CM-10 extras on a galaxy s3?
Anyone figure this one out? I tried just installing the apk on my Nexus 7 that I copied from my Infinity but it didn't work. Maybe I need the apk from the 7" Transformer?

You cannot copy an apk from one device (or even ROM) to another if there exists an .odex file with the same base name as the apk.
It doesn't even work if you copy the odex file too, because the odex file depends on other odex files. You'd first need to deodex the apk (merging the odex back into the apk, but also resolving dependencies to framework odex files).
The easiest would be to grab the apk from a deodexed custom ROM, e.g. CleanROM 2.4 - the apk is inside the zip in /asus/myframe. Note that there is still no guarantee that it works on a different device.
