Hi,
I purchased a leather case for my G2X from pdair.com two weeks ago (this: http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_11000039_11001235&products_id=32636). I'm still waiting for it to get here.
Anyone else have experience dealing with this company? I never received a confirmation for my order, but did get an invoice number through my Paypal account, which I used to contact their sales department.
Ok, finally got the case after three weeks. I like it. Sturdy and stylish, the phone fits snugly between two placeholders, with lots of space for my fat fingers swiping the screen. The magnetized button is a definite plus.
Here are a couple of pics for those who are curious:

Not sure if this is true or not.but I've heard magnets on phones can damage them.

Magnets will not damage the phone, but may turn on Car Home unless your are rooted and have it Frozen. A magnet is used in car mounts to activate Car Home.

I saw those, but didn't like the flap bit at the top. So i got one of these, doesn't have the flappy bit, but only used it the once.
nice will have a look
I had one of these, very cheap quality. I also wouldn't recommend this case because of the magnet, it made my screen flicker for no reason. took ages for it to go away after i stopped using the case.
Ugly!
Well, it's a matter of person taste in the end. But still. Urgh.
looks very bold
my 2 cents on the cases
I have purchased both cases from dx. I like model 2 better as it has a bit more internal foam in it to protect the phone. I've dropped mine from 4 feet onto concrete and the phone was undamaged. I've never seen the magnets cause any problems on my phone i9000m. For the price I really like the case.
I figured why spend any money on a car mount. See pics....

It looks even better in person and does not shake period. Just slide your kickstand at the bottom of your air vent. As you can see its universal to all cars cause they all have a space to slide into the crevice.

How does the kick stand seem to be hoping up? Seems like it'd put a lot of pressure on it.

Until you hit a nice size pot hole and...snap. I'm sure it's alright for a while assuming the bottom of the phone rests against the dash but it must start stressing the kickstand too much eventually.
No stress at all, just try it and you will see. The kickstand is part of the phone and when its inserted into the vent its then part of the car. I love it, I guarantee its better than any mount you could ever find.
Rooted Thunder
I gotta try this!
Dosent work with my vents. Time for a new car.
this is not a signature I type it in every time maybe sent from my phone or my computer
This is awesome. Almost a no- brainer. Like the invention of the rubber band.

I have it too, and it sits nice even though I use a casemate tough case.
I think that the one with the spare battery charger is more practical and seems to be more stable on the surface is sitting on.
I got the HTC Throne.
No expense spared!

Info
lol, very nice design, ecological too
I was thinking that a car holder, one of those which stick to the windscreen, would do a good job. The sucker could stick to the table, and you can change the angle/orientation as you wish.
There are sucker designs that don't need a glass-like surface, that can stick to the dashboard plastic (which is neither smooth nor flat), so it should work for the average table/desk.
As a bonus, you don't need to worry about removing cases, since the phone would be held by the adjustable pincers.
After searching different cell phone stores and cell phone stands, I found this great case with velcro, snap lock, and metal belt clip, and the best part it fits with the defender commuter case that I got with the phone from ATT. I bought this in a metro-pcs store in my mall, and best part it only cost me $10.00. So I bought 2, 1 as a backup. Here are some pictures for everyone to see..

I got this from a METRO-PCS STORE. Just in case, that is another cell phone store and carrier... You can also find them on ebay. REIKO XL case.
Stupid question but I like the dot view case but I like the metal finish better. Do you think if I were to cut the back of the case off leaving the binding on and just tape the binding to the back. Thus only having the front of the case leaving the back empty.
Do you think that could work?
I'm debating weather to risk doing that on my $30 case.
There is a little tab in the middle that has a piece of metal in it to help the case snap back onto the screen. You would have to use that tab to your advantage to glue that to your phone to prevent any sliding. Remember, the dot view case has to be on perfect for it to work. Just wait it out. Someone will make a clear back version of it and sell it on Amazon or eBay.
The guy at my Vzw store stole the display model case and the back is all cut up for the security sensor thingie. It works fine.
So yes.
