I am having a problem with playing Youtube videos over WiFi. They play fine over 3g/4g. I have reinstalled and still same problem. Any ideas?

Check your wifi connection
WiFi is fine for everything else. I can play video from other web sites just Youtube does not work via the app or website. The three other phones the rest of the family has have no problems

What type of router do you have? Does your router have QoS? If so log into the router and bump up your phones priority in QoS. alternately you can power cycle the router when no other devices are present except yours, and see of the problem persists.

Hello. I am really new to all this and I have a problem that I can't seem to find similar posts explaining or having the same issue. I have the supercm7 v1 rom on my infuse4g and the mobile hotspots won't work. A user can connect to it and we even saw that he could get an IP address and DNS was working. But no data, cannot load any webpages or anything. I looked at the apn settings and played around with them with different suggestions with no luck. Any ideas? Thank you

Not sure if i'm any help at all, but every time ive used wifi tethering, i need to load something on my phone after enabling tethering in order for the inernet to work on the computer. it never seems to work correctly until i use data on the phone after turning it on and connecting.
Freeze tether app in titbu. Done.

So I installed open garden tether and it works fine that way. Except for the fact that my wife's infuse stock doesn't see the ssid from a foot away.??? My computers and other friends cell's can connect, weird...

Need I repeat.. and slightly mod..
ROOT as you said that you had done. You can root stock. Then freeze or uninstall tethering manager in titanium backup. Done. Make sure you have a visible SSID

Anyone else having issues streaming youtube or google play sample tracks over wifi? 3g works fine, wifi connection says "lost connection to server". Works fine w the other phones using wifi in the house. Tried restoring back to my first post root save w the same effect. Any thoughts?

My youtube is touchy over 3G, might just be the connection but it'll play just fine unless I try to skip ahead.

I will try a different network today. Odd that the other androids in the house have no problem on the network. Thought it may have had something to do w the "officially unlocked" boot loader. But if no one else is having this problem it must be my network, or my phone. Maybe different protocols are used...?

I believe it, pos... put it behind my router & all is well. Never did like the idea of having it between my router & modem anyway.

Hi,
Youtube apps just doesnt work on my Wifi only model. Everytime, it shows "Connection to server lost".
Any ideas to fix this?

Btw I'am on 3G and on the now pulled FW update. After todays update the youtube app keeps crashing , cache and data cleared - nothing helps. Thou working on my sgs3. With every update this app is becomming a real POS.

Hi. I have similar problem. When I've installed 3g router I have problems with all flash videos. Same on laptop and phone. Whey stops loading. Maybe anyone know a solution? But when I'm putting my 3g stick directly to laptop it's ok. And phone loading videos perfectly when on mobile Internet. Thanks in advance.

Your problem is probably bandwidth issues. 3G dongles can't carry too much data at once like a standard router can and when its broadcasting its signal to multiple devices it will use up that bandwidth fairly quickly. The fact that it works fine when used with a single device points to bandwidth being the issue. Are you able to get another 3G dongle without paying for another plan?
I could try to get another dongle to test. Now I'm using Zte Mf112 with netgear n-mbrn3000 router. It's interesting, when I'm disconnecting all other devices it's the same problem. Maybe i should change something in routers configs? I have 10mbps plan, but the dongle is supporting 7.2 mbps. I always have download speed around 400kb/s.

Anyone else have this issue?
Just started on day 2 of having this phone. Youtube and Play Store download speeds are ridiculously slow only on wifi. All other apps are fine with their speed and performance on wifi. What's even stranger, is if I switch off wifi and use LTE/3G download speeds are normal again with YouTube and Play Store. Very frustrating for updating apps, watching videos, etc.
Things I've tried: Turning wifi off and on again. Reboot. Signing out and back into hangouts. Deleting data and cache from play services, rebooting, signing out and in of hangouts. Same issue.
Any help greatly appreciated.

This works. Two meters away from the router and I was getting a link speed of 19mbps while my old g2x got 72mbps. Unchecked wifi optimization and got 72mbps on the Nexus too!
Unchecking Wifi Optimization is NOT a solution.
You should NEVER do this.
It will result in a MASSIVE increase in battery consumption. Your phone does not need 70mbit download speeds to stream from YouTube/etc. YouTube videos max out at around 2-3mbit/s anyway.
