Two stock android keyboards available at once? GB and ICS. - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed the ics apk, just moved it actually. In language and keyboard in the settings menu, there are two android keyboard options with settings for both.
When I long press on an input field, I get the option to select one android keyboard (ics) or swype.
Is there a way to have both android keyboard options available when we long press on an input field? Thanks.

Have you done the following:
1) Menu -> Settings -> Language & Keyboard -> Select your keyboard
and/or (as I had to do both)
2) Long-press on keyboard entry window -> Select Input Method -> Select your keyboard
I don't use Sywpe, I use Shapewriter which is the same concept but I prefer their layout and input methods. But I had to do BOTH of the above steps to enable it.
I hope this helps.
Thanks very much I hadn't done the second option!

Why is it when i install a different keyboard it wont override the stupid HTC keyboard?
For example, i wantto install the droid x keyboard, but when i go to activate it in the keyboard settings, it leaves the HTC keyboard as the main keyboard. Is there something im missing?

It force closes, any suggestions?
Sorry if im in wrong section
Try reinstalling if you get a force close. Go into Settings>Language and Keyboard and check your settings for the custom keyboard.

Arc default keyboard

I did search but didn't get a clear picture
I want a keyboard where i can longpress the qwerty keys to type numbers instead of switching to number mode.
I saw both motorola milestone 2 and nexus S has such a keyboard. it seems it is part of the standard gingerbread keyboard.
Is it possible to enable this in the Arc or do I have to install 3rd party application?
Are there any recommended 3rd party apps for this?
There is a keyboard where you cn long press the letters to get numbers. Its a gingerbread keyboard. Its been posted on the xperia arc forums on xda. It dhould be fairly easy to find. Hope you do find it

Quick language change on keyboard

is there a way to make a fast language change on stock ICS?
it seems the only way is to long press space key and select other language.
yeah, miss the swipe on space bar from GB too. Only other option I found is accessing language switcher from the notification area. So I guess long pressing is now the quickest solution :-/

[Q] How to off T9 dictionary in Speed rom

Hiii
I use Speed-Rom in my Htc-Amaze 4g. There is no 3/4 key pad option in speed rom, so i had to install Go-Keyboard . Now i do not now How to off T9 dictionary in Messaging using Go keyboard
I hate T9.. But have no idea how to get rid of this.
Please resolve this issue
There will be a spanner icon on the keyboard, beside space bar (i think so, coz i've never used go keyboard.)
If it is present tap on it and look for text input and settings (this option can be seen in system default settings too). In That change the keyboard input settings.
